Oh true, didn't think of that, makes me even more worried they just combined Rundu and Jiyang arc's, the Rundu commander was huyate you're right, especially when combined with the courtesan showing up in ep 22 preview, which is meant to happen after Rundu, signs not looking good, but won't judge too early

100%, thank god we have two episodes a day. In a lot of cdramas the big villain would be obvious by now but they've done such good job of dropping clues but not making it obvious. I have my guesses but still unsure, need the 2 episodes daily.

Damn that cliffhanger, for those that have seen the previews and know what's comes next, I hope it's a fake out. Hope our group stays together till the end.

Yeh I agree, Moonlight has crazy reservations already but that to be expected with Xu Kai's return, for this one to hit such a big popularity with no like massive fanbases is pretty good already. Things looking up for Cheng Lei though, has some big dramas coming.

Yeh 100% like before the final war right at the end of the novel, the Rundu battle is like the only big war battle for ages. I'm hoping they swapped it so he finds out her identity first then the battle, which I don't really care either way tbh, as long as they include it.

The only thing I'm worried about is the Rundu arc, I'm hoping they didn't combine it with the jiyang arc, because based on the previews in ep 22, him talking to that woman about previously visiting there with He Yan in their academy days, that happens after the Rundu city arc in the novel, so I'm hoping they just changed things around, and we'll still see that arc.

Novel wise he redeems himself a bit, so don't give up all hope!

Tencent has this, followed by moonlit reunion, then possibly journey of legend after. Crazy lineup for Tencent ngl. Looking forward to seeing if this can hit 30k index this weekend before Moonlit reunion premieres. If the romance 'officially' starts this weekend, with hopefully a first kiss (not counting underwater) could really be possible, although difficult due to it being on so many different platforms. 27k already a pretty impressive achievement.

I think Rundu arc might have been swapped around or combined with another arc. In ep 22 preview, I think the women ML talks to that exposes Fl's identity is that old courtesan friend from the novel. Remember, in the novel him and a group of old friends run in to an old courtesan friend, and she mentions how He Yan was dressed as man back in their academy days. Also in the novel this is when he sends his subordinate to investigate He Ru Fei. However, this is meant to happen after the Rundu arc. So either they will somehow fit the Rundu arc into ep 20 and 21, or maybe it's been re-arranged or possibly even combined with the jiyang arc. Wait and see I guess, just all guesses right now.

I never thought about how it makes her achievements tied to the Xiao family, true maybe they should have kept it separate or at least given us more flashback of her rising up the ranks showing it was her one effort. I agree about the conflict involving dad's death, I think it was unnecessary.

Yeh I agree that would make sense, feel like the order is better, as long as they don't make him angry or whatever at her for too long.

Honestly, I don't mind them switching the arcs a little, having ML find out the truth about FL before any official confession or marriage etc, I like it better in that order. However, I do hope they don't make any misunderstanding go for ages, seems like it won't though, fingers crossed.

In the novel he does actually like her, he confessing later and is rejected, but moves on after, isn't the obsessive type. I agree though he plays the gray type character so well though, can hardly tell what he's thinking.

Same, honestly he has a lot of good dramas coming now, this, shadow love, filming mo li which has like a S+ budget. So happy for him. Personally, I don't watch many short drama's as I just prefer longer dramas, but familiar stranger hooked me real fast!
