Thank you! I was so looking forward to this show but all the clips (on social media) I was seeing imply that she…
Oh yeh don't worry about that, ml and fl are very committed to each other, she doesn't settle at all. She likes 3ml for a little bit but after moving on from her crush on him around ep 9, she doesn't like anyone else besides ml so no worries there. She likes ml before committing. She never likes 2ml romantically only as a friend, so no worries. After ep 9 she only likes ml no one else, she does tell 2ml she only sees him as friend thats all, they are close friends but thats all.

Same I dislike when ml or fl wavers but definitely seems like its more an fl trope haha

Wanted to mention the cdrama Splendid match, 40 eps. No break up and a HE but there is an almost a divorce which I’ll mention. Overall, I did enjoy this drama, I enjoyed the relationship between the ml and fl, it was a very cute and innocent while also being intimate and supportive, which was enjoyable. A quick recap of their relationship, Ml tells fl he will chase her in ep 17 after already falling for her, they get together officially with a kiss in ep 20 and married in ep 28. However, there were a few parts of the drama which were annoying to watch which I’ll mention.

There is a 2ml and a 3ml. The 2ml starts off pretty annoying, he is deeply traumatized, when fl shows him kindness he becomes a little crazy and obsessed with her, gets to a point where when fl visits the 3ml, he gets so angry at fl’s stubborn nature when she doesn’t listen to him, he hits her with his whip. He was sorry after but this shows how at the start he was a little crazy, childish and obsessed. However, what I was surprised about and enjoyed was how he matured and his character development. After some plot stuff, he matures and calms down. He also works very well with ml and fl which was nice to see. When he found out fl and ml were getting married he was shocked and hurt and again lashed out at fl and ml around ep 26. I was worried he would become a cliche and turn against them both, but he didn’t. He does still like fl but she tells him she considers him a special/close friend but only a friend, around ep 26ish. After that he calmed down and realized he can only ever be friends with fl, so he never crossed the line again, and continued working well with ml and fl and was respectful of their relationship. I really liked his character development here after ml and fl got married, he went from crazy and obsessed, to maturing and being respectful of ml and fl's relationship..

I did wish fl rejected 2ml a bit more harshly after he lashed out, she has a soft spot for him so never really rejected him properly, but she did tell him she only sees him as a friend and it seems he got the message and never crossed the line with her again, so because of this I don't mind it too much that her rejection was a little soft. Although I do wish she rejected him a bit more directly, I think thats me being nitpicky really. Also ml considers him a close friend, almost younger brother, same with fl, so seeing them work close together as a group was nice. Ml also never sees 2ml as competition, he knows 2ml's feelings for fl but before ml chased fl he asked fl and she clearly told him she only sees 2ml as a friend. I did end up enjoying 2ml's character.

The 3ml however is another story, at first fl has a crush on him as she believes he saved her before. But in ep 9 when he invited her to meet but he backed out, she decides to move on, and also same ep she realizes it was ml who’s saved her not 3ml, so she really moves on from here onwards. I didn’t mind this crush because it’s very early and she and ml don’t know each other well, also at this point 3ml wasn’t toxic or annoying, so it was fine for me. However when he later finds out ml and fl are getting married, this is when unfortunately he becomes super annoying and toxic. When he finds out, even though he is ml’s adopted nephew and is engaged to ml’s sister, he continues to chase fl, finding time to forcefully be alone with her, confessing to her multiple times and being delusional as he believes fl still likes him and was only tricked by ml. Fl continually draws a hard line with him, rejecting him harshly but he doesn’t stop until ml forcefully sends him away, but instead he betrays ml and fl, and becomes the typical jealous, toxic and annoying 3ml. This all happens between like ep 29-35. Also was the reason for the almost divorce between ml and fl.

In ep 33 and 34, ml starts to realize fl use to like 3ml which he had no idea about, and from there he begins to give fl the cold shoulder. She waits for him in the rain but he refuses to see her, eventually after a confrontation between ml, fl and 3ml where fl again draws a hard line with 3ml, ml still gives fl the cold shoulder, so she decides to sign a divorce letter. Ml had given fl a divorce letter earlier as a sign of always allowing her freedom but also because he was worried what would happen to her if anything happened to him. She signs it and sends it to him, not as a divorce but she tells her maid she wants to force him to see her. She sends the letter in ep 34, however same ep ml is badly injured, fl rushes to see him and looks after him, afterwards the same ep, they make up and she tells him she only sent the divorce letter as she wanted him to see her. I don't see this as a break up as they never divorce, it’s very quick, the divorce letter and the make up all happens in ep 34. They are clearly in love as shown how worried she was when he was hurt and how she took care of him, but since I mentioned what happened you can decide for yourself.

Also in ep 37 theres a short separation as ml supposedly dies, fl doesn't believe this and goes looking for him and finds him in ep 38, so again short separation but for me not a break up. Besides these two, no other break up or even argument.

The relationship between ml and fl was very sweet and cute. Both ml and fl are very strong characters, so seeing them open up to each other and be vulnerable with each other was sweet. I enjoyed seeing them work together, support each other and also they were very intimate, multiple kisses and hugs and holding each other, all very cute. Honestly, I just wish 3ml didn’t return after they got together.

For me, this drama was at its best during the middle section, around episodes 15–30. The beginning was still enjoyable, but it had the typical historical cdrama setup with the FL’s family being full of toxic people aside from her mother. Once those characters were dealt with, the drama became much more enjoyable. There were still some annoying characters, but far fewer, and the focus shifted more toward the ML and FL’s relationship progressing nicely without interruptions.

Unfortunately, for the final 10 eps the drama became more frustrating at times. The ML and FL were still great together, but the return of the 3ML and his jealous, toxic behavior was very annoying to watch. Then, once that storyline ended in ep 36, the drama immediately moved into the Ml’s fake death in ep 37, leading to another short separation. The ending also felt sudden. It wasn’t bad, but it ended so suddenly. I really wish we had gotten more of the Ml and Fl’s happy ending, along with more closure for the Fl’s family and the side characters. It honestly felt like it was missing the final 10-15 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the final 10 eps, but they weren't as good as the middle part in my opinion.

I did really enjoy some side characters, the child emperor was refreshing to see, he was only child but was smart, trusted ml and wasn’t a simple puppet which was nice to see and rare when its a child emperor. Also fl’s sister had a great character arc, from being jealous and scheming, she became hard working, humble and someone who looked up to fl, wanted to work with her, earn her forgiveness and was no longer jealous and just wanted to to live a simple life. I really did enjoy her and 2ml’s character development, and by the end I actually wanted them both to have a happy ending. This drama did a good job of having these two initially toxic characters who were both childish and annoying, become mature and grow into good people.

Overall I did enjoy this drama and found it pretty engaging to watch, but it's not perfect. I enjoyed the character development of fl's sister and 2ml and the overall plot was engaging and enjoyable to watch. For me, this show was carried by the ml and fl though, they were really enjoyable to watch and for the most part had a very supportive, intimate and sweet relationship. I just which we got more of that especially in the last 10 eps. The toxic/bad turn of the 3ml felt unnecessary and I wish it wasn't included, same with the fake death, felt like the last 10 eps just became a bit too cliched, and the ending was pretty sudden. Don't get me wrong though, overall, while at times it did have its faults, and while this plot is nothing new in the historical cdrama world, it was still an enjoyable watch that kept me engaged, with ml and fl's relationship being a highlight throughout.

I’m glad to recommend the 12 ep kdrama perfect crown, it’s been very hyped and I like so many cast members in this, so I am glad there was no break up and a HE. The story at is foundation is something we’ve seen a lot, contract marriage, they fall for each other during the contract, ml actually liked fl from highs school but she doesn’t know, so they have shared history, contract marriage gets exposed, everything goes to hell. The story has been done many times so you know what to expect, it’s nothing new. But thats not a bad thing, theres a reason these stories are repeated, when done poorly they can be annoying and frustrating to watch, but when done well they are super enjoyable and addictive. Here, I am glad it was done very well and was an overall enjoyable and engaging watch.

I enjoyed pretty much all the characters and the chemistry between them all, not just romantic chemistry between ml and fl, but chemistry between the whole cast, whether as villains or friends or family, was so good that it elevated the drama.

A massive shout out to the 2fl, she was really good, I dislike one dimensional 2fl’s or 2ml’s that are toxic just because they are obsessed, this is not that. Here the 2fl does a great acting job, I liked her before and glad she truly shined in this role. You can feel the tension and untold story between ml and her, I found myself looking forward to her scenes, especially with ml, their tension and sparks as they opposed each other were so enjoyable and engaging to watch. I appreciate they didn’t just make her your ordinary, toxic 2fl, the way they showed how much she gave up for the throne and royalty really was well done, her backstory, her depth and the actress being really good made her a very enjoyable watch as a 2fl, she was kept as an interesting grey character until near the end. Her character was most like a guilty pleasure as she opposed ml and fl but was so engaging to watch.

Then fl’s family. Her father is mostly the typical toxic father who favors his son, most of the time annoying but he does show care for fl secretly and redeems himself a bit, but the shout out is for her brother and his wife. Normally, the brother would be a scheming, toxic guy that just wants to take over the family business and harm fl, with his wife being the same type of person, but not here. Yes, he wants the family business and so doe his wife, but they are not the scheming type and they never cross a line, both actually care for fl, show concern/worry for her at different times and protect/help her in times of need. Give them a chance, at first they come off as a bit annoying or toxic, but I really did enjoy them both as we got more scenes of them. Together also, they provide a lot of comic relief. Yes they were competitive, but more in a funny comedic way and while also showing concern/worry for her behind closed doors and when she needed their help or when it was important like in ep 10, fl’s brother stood up for her. They were both good people, I did quite enjoy seeing them on screen and glad they weren't the cliche toxic family.

The villain was played by a kdrama villain veteran, played the villain in so many kdramas like alchemy of soul, he’s great and you know what you’ll get, great villain as always. The assistants of ml and fl were very funny and supportive and made a cute second couple, the kid king/nephew of ml was cute and played his role well, his relationship with ml was so sweet, they way he called ml uncle was adorable.

The 2ml, has an obvious crush on fl, and at times I did find him annoying, but the actor did do a good job of showing himself wrestling with his crush on fl and dealing with his duties as prime minister, I appreciate how he wasn’t just a simple toxic 2ml, he did have some depth with him being so loyal to the crown. From ep 9 and 10 onwards, he became a bit more frustrating/annoying, and he did betray fl, which I hoped he wouldn’t do because of his obsession, I did like his depth and his loyalty to the crown but he did became more of cliche 2ml near the end.

The romance between ml and fl, like I mentioned story wise was nothing new, but the chemistry between them was very good. They did a great job of showing off fl falling for ml, and also showing how ml clearly still liked fl from his high school days, seeing them together was very cute. They had a very swoon worthy romance. Fl admits in ep 9 to 2ml that she likes ml a lot, but it’s clear from before that they have fallen for each other. End of ep 3 first kiss but was a quick one and due to a paparazzi photographer watching them, first proper kiss in ep 6. Honestly, the best way to describe the romance between them is swoon worthy, it’s a drama perfect romance. It becomes clear in ep 6 I would say, after that kiss, that fl has fallen for ml. Ml clearly likes fl from ep 1/2, but makes it more and more obvious to her as the eps go on, as they go on pretend dates and such to sell their fake relationship, and he shows her more and more care and protectiveness, fl falls for ml, and ml liking her becomes more obvious. Ml confessed in like ep 7 I think, fl confessed back in ep 10, but they both know they like each other before, an official confession wasn’t needed. Their chemistry and visuals really make their relationship very sweet and romantic.

Very end of ep 9 fl asks ml for divorce, cliff hanger that I thought would lead to the typical noble idiocy. When she asked for the divorce it was after she confessed to 2ml that she likes ml a lot, she was clearly trying to protect ml but I was hoping it wouldn’t go down this cliche noble idiocy route. And thank god it didn’t, they never divorce or break up. Really glad they avoided this noble idiocy cliche, yeh she told him she wanted to divorce at the end of ep 9, but by half way of ep 10 she realises she was wrong, confesses she likes him and tells him she will stay by his side, so this for me is not a break up. Also we got a proper HE, seeing fl and ml happy together for a decent amount of time in the final ep was nice.

Although I did enjoy how they didn’t use the cliche of fl’s family being evil and there was no silly break up which was great, the story/script is mostly quite predictable if you’ve watched many kdramas before, with some cliches. But it was a contract story done right in my opinion. Overall, I did really enjoy this drama, what made this drama enjoyable for me was the great cast with really great chemistry between everyone. The cast was fantastic, I enjoyed pretty much every character good or bad, they were all very engaging to watch. The relationship between ml and fl was cute and sweet, especially seeing fl fall for ml, and going from only caring about her own status, to seeing her care for ml was so sweet. Also the visuals overall were stunning, from the sets and the outfits, to the actual characters themselves. Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable watch, there were some annoying/cliche moments, but that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed this kdrama.

Wanted to mention the 40 ep cdrama Fate chooses you. I think this xianxia was quite enjoyable, didn’t try to do to complicate things and I really enjoyed the relationship between ml and fl for how mature, sweet and simple it mostly was. Now I consider this a no break up and an open/ slightly HE which I will explain. I think theres no official break up, key word being official, but there are two situations that occur in the drama that some people might consider a break up/seperation. I’ll explain them both so you can decide for yourself, as I don’t want anyone to be misled by my review.

The first happens literally in the first two eps. FL is a cultivator with a cursed fate that brings death to her husbands, she needs to marry three husbands to break this fate. Ml is the third, she believed he was a corrupt government official preparing to be executed soon. He just wanted someone to bury him and remember him after his death, so they agreed to marry. They get married in a quick prison wedding, after while fl is traveling she hears about how ml is actually a good government official that was framed, she rushes back but he is executed in ep 2, or so fl believes. She buries him, mourns him and seeks revenge on the government officials who set him up. However, ml is actually a powerful cultivator, so he isn’t actually dead. He is a war demon that has lived a long life and wants to become mortal, so he has to go through 5 trials, he allowed himself to be set up and executed to pass the first two trials, but the fl doesn’t know any of this. Marriage and execution, all in the first 2 eps. As fl seeks revenge for ml she eventually goes against some cultivars that out match her, ml eventually revealed himself to save her, she was mad and hurt as expected, ml didn’t explain why he needed to be executed, just told her he never meant to hurt her. Fl told him they would never meet again, ml saw how hurt she was so erased her whole memory of it all, I know cliche. This memory wipe and them parting ways happens in ep 7. His so called death and her saying they should never meet again after she finds out the truth is the first break up, and all happens in the first 7 eps. I really don’t consider this a break up as this was a marriage for convince for them both, with both of them keeping secrets and no real emotions involved, although it did feel like fl had a soft spot for ml thus she seeks revenge for him, and same for ml seeing the lengths she went to for him.

In ep 9, they meet again but fl has no memory of ml and thinks he is a senior cultivator from a fellow sect, they spend time together as senior and junior cultivators, growing closer. By ep 17 fl learns ml was her husband, and realizes she likely married him to break her curse but has no idea why ml wiped her memory. In ep 19, fl confront ml, figures out he’s a war demon, war demons and immortal sect cultivators like fl have a bad history, she pointed her sword at ml, but she couldn’t bring herself to actually harm/kill ml. Ml and fl clearly had grown some feelings frim their time together as junior and senior earlier, soon they work together again, happens ep 20 I think. They spend more time together with their feelings growing quickly, with no more secrets, they clearly like each other more and more.

In ep 24, pretty much a confession/becoming official, ml tells fl his worries about loosing his powers after becoming mortal, fl tells him she will love an ordinary life with him, have a family etc, they hug, its a cute scene and pretty much a confession and consolidation of their relationship. One example of why I really enjoy their relationship, their open and honest communication.

The second potential break/seperation, happens right at the end pretty much. In ep 37-38, to defeat the villain and save the world, ml becomes a perfect war demon, he looses his memories and becomes a brand new person. As he looses his memories, after the battle he disappears, while fl shouts his name. This happens end of ep 38. Fl searches for ml and finds him on a small boat about to go to Yanzhou at the very end of ep 40, she joins him on the boat as the only other passenger and they set sail together. I would say this situation is closer to an official break up/seperation than the earlier one I explained but still I don’t really see this as a break up. They were together, happy and in love, fl let ml undergo the final trial to become a human while she went to stop the villain, but then ml decided to become a perfect war demon instead to save the world and her. No words were spoken after his memory loss between them, so I really don’t consider this an official break up, but I understand how people might.

I will admit I disliked how they added this, and this goes on to the ending I mentioned. It’s an open ending leaning towards happy, fl finally finds ml in like in the last 2 minutes of ep 40, she finds him, smiles and boards the same boat as him, with only them two together on the boat. So you can assume it’s pointing towards them rekindling their romance as the boat sails off, but I really wish they just gave us a proper happy ending. I don’t really like open endings like this, and I felt the memory loss was unnecessary right at the end, could have just given us a happy ending instead.

Now I explained the two kind of break ups and the ending, I’ll let you make your own judgements about if they count as break ups, and how you like the ending. For the drama overall though, I really did enjoy it. I feel like this review started a bit negative but I really did enjoy this cdrama quite a bit. I liked how straight forward and simple it was, especially with the romance. I’ve watched a lot of xianxia’s, sometimes they can be overly confusing with different timelines and plots and the romance full of separation and noble idiocy. Yes that did happen here a bit like I mentioned, but overall, for the majority of the drama, there was none of that. It was easy to follow and the plot was straightforward mostly, while also having a couple different plot lines and twists that kept the drama engaging.

After the secrets got out, from around ep 21 until like 36/37, I enjoyed the romance between ml and fl a lot. It was mature, sweet, simple and straight forward, anytime they made a major decision, especially about their future, they first talked to the other person, they never assumed the other person would just follow the other. They talked about what they each wanted and blended their futures together, it was so so sweet and nice. They had such healthy communication, their communication was honestly such a highlight of their relationship. And once they were together officially, there were no secrets, no relationship based angst or stress, the majority of the drama and angst/stress came from battling the villains, their relationship was so stable and nice, it was kept simple and sweet, except for the ending. This is one of the reasons I felt the ending was a let down, I would have loved to see their future together just like how they planned. The relationship was kept simple, stable and sweet for the majority of the drama, I wish they didn’t add the memory loss at the end. But I still really liked their relationship, and the chemistry was very good I thought.

There is a 2ml, the majority of his scenes, especially with fl, are around like ep 9/10-15/16 ish. He is a bit toxic and annoying, but not that bad overall, only has a few scenes with fl. Fl has a crush on him as she grew up idolizing him, however with ml’s help she quickly realises his true character and distances herself from him in ep 13, I liked they didn’t drag this and she quickly found his true nature, Also after like ep 16 he doesn’t bother her again even though he still likes her. So really he is annoying from like ep 9-13, and then it’s no problem after. He also had a pretty good character development arc/redemption which I enjoyed.

Some people disliked fl’s junior sister from the sect, but I didn’t mind her and I understood her character, though she was annoying a little bit early on due to her possessiveness of fl. I didn’t think she was that bad but I understand how some viewers might not like her at all. The supporting cast overall was pretty strong, some really nice fight scenes also.

Also there are a few very cool and well done fight scenes, with ml and fl both being badass and pretty strong, especially ml who is extremely strong and it shows which I enjoyed, he literally dominates every fight except the final villain. War demons in the drama are known as extremely strong cultivators, so glad they showed that.

Overall I really did enjoy this drama, the chemistry between ml and fl was great, mostly strong cast, with a few annoying characters but the majority were likable and enjoyable to watch, even though it make take some time to warm up to some of them. I’ll let everyone make their own judgements about the possible break ups with my explanations. Honestly, even though this was 40 eps, I didn’t find this drama boring or having much filler at any point, it was an enjoyable watch throughout. What carried it really was the ml and fl, even when there was less action and the plot slowed down for an ep or two, seeing how sweet ml and fl were together, and their moments together, carried me through the slower parts no problem.

Xianxia’s aren’t for everybody, but if you like xianxia’s you will enjoy this. I really did just enjoy how simple this drama and romance was overall, never trying to over complicate things, except for the end. It wasn't perfect, there some annoying pairs and the ending wasn’t bad, but for how much I did like the overall drama, I wish the ending was better, could have been way better if it kept it simple like it did for the rest of the drama. A few ups and downs, but it was mostly an enjoyable cdrama to watch with a really sweet and mature relationship between the ml and fl carrying the drama throughout.

Sorry for the super long review also, just wanted to fully explain the two separations so people can make their own judgments.

wow 8! that’s a new one
No problem and oh 12-16 eps would have been a really good idea to have a bit more depth but not be too long, oh well not sure why its only 8 eps but still was a nice watch.

Wanted to give a quick shout out to the cdrama Bloom of life. Only 8 eps which is really unique for a full ep length cdrama with a well known actress like Li Landi, to only be 8 eps, so it's a quick watch and I think definitely worth your time. No break up and a HE.

Its a pretty straight forward romance cdrama with friendship and family, ml kind of falls for fl quickly, almost at first sight, in ep 1/2 you can kind of tell he likes her, but it becomes more obvious and she starts liking him back the more they spend time together, mainly happens between ep 3-6. They get together officially end of 7. I know it's late but only 8 eps so I don't mind and it's pretty obvious they like each other before that anyway. They have good chemistry, and during the middle eps as they spend more time together, the chemistry gets better and becomes more obvious and it's cute seeing them spend time together and working together. The time they spend together in the middle and later eps is very cute and sweet and feels natural. It's a simple romance, just two young adults meeting and being attracted to each other the more they spend time together. Also cute how ml who plans to open a homestay in fl's home town in kashgar where the drama is set, invites her to join him as she is an architect, so even before they're together, they're opening their own little homestay which is cute.

There is a 2ml but he literally has only like 3-4 scenes in the whole drama and he is not the toxic type so was no problem, overall also very wholesome cast, showing of Kashgar culture which was also very nice, seeing a different type of culture not seen a lot in cdramas. There's maybe one or two annoying characters but really aren't that bad overall. No real angst, pretty much zero stress, just a straight forward romance/healing drama with a pretty wholesome cast. The first ep is fl returning to her home town after her fathers death, but to be clear we don't see her fathers death, there is a funeral scene, but besides that, it's mostly used as a way for fl to return home but also heal, so its not a sad drama at all, mostly a happy, wholesome, light drama but thought I would mention that quickly as the first like 10-15 mins may give the wrong impression.

This drama is a mix of romance, healing and friendship/family so not all focused on romance, but would say it is mostly a combination of romance and friendship/family.

Because its only 8 eps, I did feel at times it lacked a bit of depth and I would have liked to see more dating between ml and fl since they were cute together especially in ep 8 after becoming official, but since its only 8 eps I get it and can't really be judged same as a full 25-40 ep cdrama. The ending was a HE but a little underwhelming, fl decides to take a job in another city, it's a contract job, she is helping design a homestay like she did with ml, and ml tells her to go and he will be waiting for her at home, and then they hug and kiss in happiness, so no angst or stress at all, but it ends there. So they are happy together with what I assume a happy future, but would have liked to see more of their future together, but again 8 eps so I get it. 2 side couples but they were both meh, they were ok, one in particular wasn't great but the main attraction is the main couple anyway.

Pretty much just a simple, straight forward romance/family/friendship cdrama, its not complicated, not going to change your world, and does feel like it lacks a little depth, but it has a strong cast, no real angst or stress and pretty good chemistry, so it is a pretty enjoyable quick watch.

Wanted to suggest the kdrama Yumi’s cells, season 3 specifically. Wanted to clear up a couple things first, I only watched season 3, I did not watch season 1 or 2. Thats because each season has the same fl but different ml, in season 1 she dates then breaks up with the ml, new ml in season 2 who she dates/engaged with and then breaks up and new ml for season 3. I really don’t like dramas where the ml and fl break up and never get back together, I really dislike that, so I didn’t watch seasons 1 or 2 because that happened, however as season 3 is the last season I believe, I decided to give it a try, as since it was the last season I figured there would be no break up. I was correct, no break up and a happy ending. But again, this review is for season 3 only. I had no issue watching from season 3, at times I felt like maybe I missed a bit of background info but it wasn’t that bad and had no real problems watching season 3 without watching the first 2 seasons.

Also for people that don’t know, this kdrama is like 60-70 percent kdrama and the rest being animation. The inner feelings/emotions of the ml and fl are shown through animated characters that represent their emotions/feelings, think of a mix between a kdrama and the animated movie inside out. For some people this may turn them off, and one of the reasons I was hesitant to watch this kdrama is also because most of the time I don’t really like a lot of animation in my kdramas or cdramas, as I feel it can take away from the immersion. For me however it wasn’t too bad, sometime the animation was cute and funny, but I admit there were times where times, not a lot but sometimes, where there would be a tense or cute or emotional romantic scene, then it would swap to animation and take away the immersion. There were times when the animation went on for a bit too long I felt and I skipped it. However other times the animation was cute and funny and light hearted which was nice. I can see some people loving the animation and others disliking it, so if you’re unsure I would suggest giving the first ep or two a go and seeing how you feel about it, as this really is personal preference, for me it wasn’t too bad and if I disliked it i just skipped it and continued with the kdrama.

The rest of there review will be about the kdrama besides the animation, as I feel like it is hard to suggest whether someone should watch this drama based on the animation as that is really personal preference, and even without it I thought the drama was pretty good overall.

Honestly I enjoyed this kdrama quite a bit. It’s 8 eps, so very compact story with no real filler or slow eps. It’s a nice, mostly low angst and low stress, cute kdrama, I really did enjoy it overall. However, as its only 8 eps, they get together quite late, in ep 7, however no break up and a HE and its clear from about ep 2-3 that fl likes ml, they make it very clear her falling for him and having a crush on him. Kind of a classic story, start out working together, where they are adversaries a little bit, ml is cold and focused on work, so at the start they are just colleagues, but after seeing ml outside of work, fl falls for him, and ml also slowly falls for her. Seeing fl fall for ml is very cute, also because fl has closed herself of after her last failed relationship, which is the seasons 2 one, and we see some flashbacks to give us an idea of what happened, but after that she has thrown herself into work and her love emotion as shown through animation, has turned off. But ml turns it on again, and seeing fl crushing on ml, being shy and cute about it was pretty nice to see. Ml and fl have pretty good chemistry together, especially after we see ml become less cold towards her and also warm up towards her, thats when their chemistry really gets better, from like ep 3-4 onwards. Their romance isn’t hot and heavy, but cute, innocent and shy, and sweet.

Ml proposes in the final ep but fl is hesitant based on her past experiences but tells herself her past relationships should not dictate her current one, so she tells him she needs more time to decide but they are going strong in the mean time and ml understands. There is a post credit scene showing their wedding so happy ending.

Overall if you're looking for a cute, innocent, nice romance that is a quick watch, this is for you. The animation as I said is personal preference, but the drama besides that I quite enjoyed, the chemistry was there although it took an ep or two to really get going, but once it did it was an enjoyable romance kdrama. It was simple, nothing new but I enjoyed its simplicity, nothing overcomplicated or crazy twists, just a straight forward 8 ep romance kdrama. Although I do wish we got to see a bit more of ml and fl's dating phase, but since it was only 8 eps I get it, and seeing fl fall for ml and being shy about it was quite cute.

I saw You are my fateful love got added to the list so thought I would give a quick summary. It's a pretty standard cdrama romcom, if you've watched a lot of cdrama romcom's, which I'm guessing most people coming to this list have, then you should know what to expect. Thats not a bad thing though. It's a low angst, low stress, cute, innocent fluffy type of cdrama. No break up and a HE but its pretty slow burn, they get together in ep 24, first kiss in 27 I think from memory, out of 30 eps. While slow burn, you can definitely feel the chemistry from early on, so on that sense the slow burn isn't too bad if you enjoy chemistry over the couple becoming official early.

It's clear they like each other from the first ep pretty much, they had a crush on each other in high school but no confession, meet again years later as adults and the majority of time is spent with them getting closer together, getting to know each other again. It's clear they like each other but just takes a while for them to confess. The middle part did feel a bit draggy at times though since they got together pretty late, so the middle part at times felt repetitive and a bit of a drag, but wasn't too bad and there were a lot of cute moments before they even got together officially. The chemistry between ml and fl and the overall cast was pretty good. There was a 2ml and a 2fl, both annoying but not too bad overall, I've seen worse.

Like I said, pretty standard cdrama romcom thats elevated by having a solid cast and good chemistry between the main characters not only just ml and fl. Plot wise you should know what to expect, ml and fl have a history and meet again years later, both have best friends which eventually also get together, 2ml and 2fl and an annoying female villain thats jealous of fl but doesn't get too much screen time thank god and really is only there to provide a reason for ml and fl to meet again in ep 1.

Overall, its a cute, fluffy low angst romcom, pretty predictable story, but like I mentioned, being a standard predictable romcom is not a bad thing, you know what you get and if you're feeling like a no break up, fluffy, low stress rom com, this will definitely do the job.

I haven't watched this one, but I have done my research. According to different sources, they get married on episode…
I know what you mean for sure, I feel like it's definitely worth a watch though, don't let me discourage you, I think the break ups and all that sound worse than they are actually. Didn't mean to make it sound that bad, I know what you mean though if I read my comments on this drama I would probably be unsure as well, just wanted to provide some context and all that though, I felt like it sounds worse than it is though and I really did enjoy the drama and romance a lot though which I tried to make clear. The romance is very good and is actually not too slow burn besides ml's hidden identity, fl falls in love with ml at first sight, they fall for each other very quickly, and besides the first war separation, the other two are resolved so quick they feel minor, definitely worth a watch.

Just like you I normally hate those unnecessary breaks ups and slow burn just to break up, and all that, but here it just didn't feel that bad, I think its a mix of ml and fl obviously liking each other so much and the other one/two separations after the war one are resolved so quickly they feel inconsequential. If the separations after war lasted longer I would have gotten annoyed I won't lie, but they both are resolved within an ep or two that they feel so minor it's not bad. Sounds worse than it is but just wanted to provide some extra info for those that care in my previous comment, but worth a watch for sure. The romance is pretty good and overall it's a pretty enjoyable drama.

I wanted to quickly mention this kdrama for people, In your radiant season. It's very good, just from what I remember probably my favorite kdrama of the year so far, but it does have a break up near the end, but was a necessary one. Very nice romance, very good cast with pretty much no annoying characters except one that pops up in the last 2/3 eps. Ml and fl have a past but not a cliche past like you would expect, big twist, seeing ml romance fl is very sweet. Due to past trauma fl is a closed person, but ml slowly opens her up, bringing back her old personality and healing her. Very cute romance, they get together from memory around ep 7, but their transition from fl being cold and aloof, then friendship then romance is very sweet to watch, but break up in ep 11. It was coming and was a necessary break up so although it hurt to watch, it was necessary for the plot so I understand it, they get back together around half way ep 12, and He after, although ending was little rushed which was a tiny bit annoying.

But this drama shines in the journey, the process, seeing ml slowly get fl to open up and seeing fl become more lively due to ml was very sweet, seeing fl fall for ml was also very nice and romantic, a very sweet and wholesome romance. Also a couple other very cute side romances, and the overall cast was great, like I said no real annoying characters at all, except final 2/3 eps one does come. No 2fl or 2ml at all. A very worthy kdrama to watch, a mix of romance but also healing, with both ml and fl having traumatic past, and seeing them both heal each other was very endearing. Not many clichés, it's a romance healing kdrama that was very enjoyable I felt. The absolute lack of any real annoying characters for the majority of the drama was very enjoyable. Some twists and turns but nothing over the top and it was all needed for character/story development, nothing felt unnecessary. A very mature kdrama, not many cliches or tropes, just a healing, romance kdrama.

I haven't watched this one, but I have done my research. According to different sources, they get married on episode…
Pretty much what happens like you said, nice job researching, also though a couple things you'll probably see while watching and a couple more details that might help anyone wondering.

They split up when ml goes to war after their convenience marriage around ep 18 like you said, fl says she won't wait for ml, she asks him to stay but he doesn't, ml leaves for war, and they even write a divorce letter, but then fl goes to find him again after she regrets/misses him and for other plot reasons, they reunite for a couple eps, and are all acting like a cute couple again, but then fl finds out ml's real identity, she breaks up with him, ml chase her, they make up properly, this happens within like an ep or two so very quick. Thats why I mentioned the two break ups, as they reunite after the war break up, are all cute like a couple, but then she finds out his real identity leading to a proper but short break up.

None of the break ups in my opinion were that angsty also which I liked. Overall I really liked this relationship, first break up, ml goes to war, this lasts the longest as its necessary for the plot, then second one last an ep or two after fl finds out ml's real identity but they make up very quickly after ml chases her and confesses properly. Tthere is technically a third and final one but its so minor I don't even count as a break up but thought I should mention just in case, fl distances herself from ml after finding out her own hidden identity she didn't know about, this also only lasts like one or two eps and is very minor not a break up in my opinion just kind of fl distancing herself from ml a little bit, worried she would affect his career due to her background, happens a few eps after their second break up and getting back together. Overall a really nice relationship, and the break ups/distancing aren't that angsty really and are overall super short.

Also I wouldn't sat that villain 2ml is actually after fl, at least not in an annoying way, you'll see when you watch but he wasn't really a 2ml in the generic scene, he was a psycho villain who wanted to kill ml, and only went after fl because she was married to ml which he knew, so wasn't really an annoying 2ml so don't need to worry, or at least I didn't find him annoying at all. He was only after fl because of her relationship with ml and to kind of piss off/get at ml, he wasn't like an obsessed lover/jealous type that can be really annoying, I normally dislike obsessed/jealous lover type 2ml or 2fl's so the fact I don't even consider him a 2ml should let alone know he's not that annoying so don't worry about that, actually just a fun villain to watch, I liked his craziness honestly.

Has anyone completed watching "Pursuit of Jade". Are there any breakups, or SML? Can anyone give spoilers…
Romance very good, very sweet and cute and supportive mostly, but there are two small break ups. Doesn't last long, ml leaves for war and fl breaks up with him as he leaves, at this time his identity is hidden from her, they are kind of married but ml hides his identity, he goes to war leaving fl, fl in anger breaks up with him saying she won't wait for him, but you can tell they love each other more heat of the moment from fl. She finds him during the war they reconcile but then she finds out his real identity and another mini break up before ml chases her and confesses his love. The break ups don't last long at all, especially the second one only lasts for like 1 ep, and you can tell they love each other, more just war and hidden identity getting in their way, once thats cleared no problems. Overall a very sweet romance, and a happy ending. No real annoying 2ml.

Love first responders great show but I think they broke up in season 2, like they got together in season 1 near…
Yeh very true, was unfortunate but luckily this wasn't a romance focused drama otherwise would suck even more, definitely really annoying when that happens. Thats why I like shine on me, or also dream of golden years did a good job with this, I like when theres a strong rejection towards the 2ml or 2fl rather then just never rejecting them meanwhile its obvious they like the ml or fl.

Yeh, essentially from what I remember, they got together near end of s1l, but then 2ml died in a fire, so she is still hung up on his death and feels guilty, she tells ml she can't even look at him because she feels so guilty to 2ml because she choose ml over him, ml then says he doesn't like his gf crying over another man even though he also misses 2ml as they were friends, he tells her not to cry for too long and then leaves for an assignment or something elsewhere for a bit and says he will be back, so pretty much he agrees to take time apart after that for a bit while she figure out her feelings and grieves. It's a very good kdrama but if you're going to watch, watch it for the action not the romance, it's a firefighting/police kdrama.

I'm quite surprised I didn't find First Responders on the list. I watched it some time ago, so I might get some…
Love first responders great show but I think they broke up in season 2, like they got together in season 1 near the end, broke up in season 2 cause of the death of the 2ml, but reunited later. Not even sure if it was technically an break up fl just said she needed time, from memory but I feel like it still counts as a break up, I could be remembering wrong though just from memory, but great show definitely worth a watch.

I personally prefer lighthearted drama with low angst, and it is even better if the main couple stays together…
Hey not sure if you're referring to this drama or you meant to reply to dream of golden years comment I left above this one. If its about dream of golden years, I think its a good drama, the relationship is definitely very warm and steady and supportive, its not bad maybe I made it sound bad but its quite nice. The drama itself is interesting but can be repetitive, fl starts a business, some people try to sabotage, she succeeds and continues to the next business type thing, but if you don't take it too seriously its an enjoyable drama I thought. The supporting cast is very good, fl's mother, uncle, aunt friends are all very good, some annoying other jealous family member but after the first few eps they don't get much screen time.

I did definitely enjoy it as I also much prefer low angst dramas with a strong relationship same as you. This drama isn't to be taken too seriously and can at times feel a bit repetitive thats all, the middle eps can sometimes feel a bit boring sometimes when the same things keep happening but at the same time because of that theres little angst which I enjoy as well and for me it wasn't boring for long as the cats made it enjoyable. It was light hearted, the relationship was supportive and extremely stable and the cast overall was pretty good so it was an enjoyable watch for me.

I do think its a HE as well, because ml told fl he will call her name and thats exactly what he does in the real world at the end, so its a HE, I just don't like the last minute endings in general, not this one in particular but transmigration endings overall but I get they need to do, but definitely a HE.
