Romance dramas have shown me that romance doesn't necessarily happen only after the couple gets together, but…
Yeh for sure, good romance dramas you can feel the chemistry and beginning of the romance before they become official, through small details like you said. The romance in this just gets better the longer you watch, hope you enjoy.

Title Our Universe
This drama had so much potential after the first 1 or 2 eps, had the potential to tell a unique story that you don't see often. A story about two in-laws taking a child who just lost his parents and learning to raise him together. About two strangers suddenly learning to care for a child they both love together, and in the process growing and healing from their own trauma, alongside the child, finally creating a home together. Could have been a sweet, endearing, emotional and healing kdrama.

Instead they turned this into any other typical angsty, unnecessary and annoying love triangle romcom. Not even an interesting or suspenseful love triangle, just an annoying one, with an fl that sets zero boundaries and seems more interested in spending time with her boss then her nephew, and a 2ml that is borderline stalkery, constantly inserting himself in fl's life, with and without her knowledge, such as telling ml to stay away from her, after ml himself is in a vulnerable state. She has confessions from both men but leads both along setting no boundaries, but if it was just that I wouldn't be as annoyed, but it's the 2ml constantly appearing unnecessarily taking time for the fl that should have been spent with her nephew and ml, turning this drama from what should have been focused on building a family and healing together, into an annoying love triangle kdrama with the child as an after thought. This drama should have been focused on family building and healing from trauma, as ml and fl learn to become parents and build a family, but instead its fl going on dates with 2ml and 'working late' with 2ml while ml and her nephew wait at home.

Don't get me wrong, I like the actual actors in this, I have no problem with them, I am just solely blaming the poor writing here for ruining this drama's potential.

Yay!!! I love that this drama turned out this way. I think I've said this before but these are my favorite type…
No problem hope you enjoy. I forgot to add something to my review so btw, in ep 1 ml has an accident saving his neighbors during a storm, is hit on the head and has memory loss, thats how fl begins to take care of him. But not to worry, he gets his memory back very quickly within a couple eps so its no big issue and like I mentioned first like 5-6 eps is just to set up the story, after that his memory is back and the romance begins and thats when the drama really begins.

Sounds like this drama is what you're looking for, I have similar tastes as well, once the romance starts ml and fl are super strong and supportive and all drama comes from the outside its no worries, hope you enjoy.

Quick follow up on my last comment, Love story in the 1970's fits perfectly onto the list. No break up at all, nothing comes close and a HE. I covered pretty much everything in my last comment but like I said, a few annoying side characters, one especially but most of the characters are very endearing and nice, and even the ones that aren't are quite relatable and understandable, they feel real. First 5-6 eps set up the story so starts a bit slow, but after that and especially ep 11 onwards after their marriage, it becomes a really well written, sweet and innocent love story between ml and fl. You really see ml and fl falling for each other, their love feels real and relatable, not some far fetched or crazy love story, but really realistic but also sweet and innocent.

Like I mentioned before, their romance is all about the small things, making food for each other, fanning each other while they work, and especially supporting each other in their work life/ambitions no matter what. Their support for each other is so sweet, always cheering the other up when they face a setback at work or something like that. Overall its a pretty low angst drama though, some moments of angst and a few obstacles but it never effects their romance, mainly the angst and obstacles are in their work life and future ambitions. Their romance, once it begins never stops and is always steady and strong.

There are two other side couples, both have no break ups as well, although one side couple comes close. One is sweet and supportive like the main couple, the other starts quite bumpy but also turns into a really sweet love story. They both offered different perspectives on a relationship compared to ml and fl's story, but also were quite nice. Overall the love stories, especially between ml and fl were so well written and acted. Once again, the focus was on the small things, small moments that show their love and care for each other, and seeing them fall in love makes you feel warm and sweet.

Last like 3-4 eps were good, but don't get me wrong a bit anticlimactic, as usual with period dramas it incorporated a lot of Chinese propaganda in the last 3-4 eps, but for me I didn't mind as we still got a lot of sweet moments between ml and fl, like ml brining home a coffee maker from work to share with fl, and them dancing together during the night as he played piano. Small things like that make their relationship so sweet, and there romance so realistic but also very romantic. But a heads up did get a bit propaganda full in the last few eps but wasn't too bad as ml and fl's romance still shined.

This is a romance grounded in reality, feels realistic yet idealistic, you really could see clearly the process of each falling for the other, it showed so well in their acting and how their relationship was written. I also loved their communication, whenever one faced trouble at work or something, the other could sense it, and they talked about it, supported each other and cheered the other up, was very sweet and refreshing to see their communication and having no secrets.

Like I mentioned below, fl did start of with ulterior motives for approaching ml, but after thats cleared up in a few eps, and especially once they agree to a marriage contract and get married, around eps 10-11ish, thats where the drama really gets going. From there a perfect relationship, literally perfect and green flag from them both, and yet also felt realistic and relatable. I think thats why I really enjoyed this drama, the romance between ml and fl was full of sweetness and romance, but it didn't feel unrealistic like some romance cdramas do. Somehow the romance was perfect and idealistic, realistic at the same time, I think it was all the small moments they included that showed their feeling for each other, no big acts or gestures were needed, just small but constant shows of support and love.

For those wondering, in ep 17, fl's parents find the marriage contract ml and fl at first signed when they agreed to get married to help fl's brother, I know cliche but it was well handled and over quickly so I didn't mind that much, this was also where they publicly professed their love for each other and shared their first kiss. Both their love confessions were very sweet and after this ep, the marriage contract had no other impact going forward. Also like I said, this isn't a kiss heavy or hot and heavy romance, although there are a few kisses going forward, but its a sweet innocent romance, where their love and care is showed through small moments and gestures rather then a lot of intimacy, although there is some.

Overall, the ml and fl had a damn perfect relationship once married, and I was just so surprised at how much I enjoyed their romance, especially as I wasn't really expecting this drama to be my cup of tea tbh. The other 2 main side couples were also really nice, their roads were a bit more bumpy then ml and fl's but they showed different aspects of a relationship, both of them feel realistic as well and showed different conflicts that a relationship can go through, but they both also showed love and supporting winning in the end and had no break up.

If you're looking for a mostly angst free romance cdrama with a damn near perfect relationship that is sweet and innocent, cute and romantic, yet also realistic and relatable, give this a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

Just quickly something I forgot to emotion, in ep 1 ml is an accident saving his neighbors during a storm, is hit on the head and has memory loss, thats how fl begins to take care of him. But not to worry, he gets his memory back very quickly within a couple eps so its no big issue and like I mentioned first like 5-6 eps is just to set up the story, after that his memory is back and the romance begins.

For people not knowing what to watch currently, wanted to shout out the currently airing love story in the 1970's. I was skeptical on this first but been really surprised. First couple eps a bit rough with ml and fl getting to know each other, specifically fl is really focused on getting into a good college so has ulterior motives in approaching ml. However these are cleared up within a few eps and they get not too long after married, initially was to help fl's brother but fl and ml were honest with each other about this, no secrets after fl's initial reason for approaching ml was revealed, and even this secret wasn't really a secret. I think you see where this goes, fake/contra t marriage turns into real love, while it's predictable I have to say how they've done it so far has been great. ml and fl are so cute together, their relationship developing is so so sweet, starts with ml liking fl from the start and seeing fl slowly fall in love with ml as well so sweet.

The stand out is how they support each other in their respective work life and ambition, always honest with each other and they have honest conversation especially when they first get married, a few obstacles but nothing bad or angsty so far don't worry, and they always speak with each other and clear the air quickly which I love, great communication. The small things in their relationship is what stand out, fanning each other as they work/read together, preparing meals for each other, the sweet glances at each others, its all so sweet.

Theres a couple toxic side characters but most characters in this show are very endearing and sweet. However, like I said, ml and fl steal the show, while fake/contract marriages are cliche, the lack of angst and the incredible sweetness in this sets it apart so far for me, seeing the relationship between ml and fl develop has been wonderful, a few annoying characters but the lack of overall angst and the incredibly supportive relationship between ml and fl is just great.

They get married from ep 11ish and from there you can really see fl falling in love with ml and vice versa, it's really well done. I love how supportive they are of each other, supporting each others endeavors and always cheering the other person on so sweet. Their married life and seeing them fall in love so far has been great, so sweet and cute yet innocent, don't expect a hot and heavy romance, its a cute and sweet and innocent romance, full of small things that just make you feel happy and warm. I have to say the drama has done a great job of showing them actually fall in love, you can clearly see them falling in love. So get past the first like few eps if possible, not that they are bad but its just so much better from like ep 5/6 onwards. Just wanted to shout this out, was really surprised with how much I'm enjoying this sweet romance and I hope it keeps up till the end.

I was waiting for someone to talk about this one! Now that I know that this is a non break up one, I'll start…
Hahaha yeh I like how they waste no time, especially ML, just takes a little but for FL to open up but you can already see she's at least interested in him but holding herself back.

Following up on my last comment, I want to suggest Spring fever kdrama for the list. There is no break up at all and a very HE. Warning though, this drama isn't to be taken too serious. What I mean by that is sometimes the ML is portrayed almost comically like a perfect physical male specimen, what I mean is he is super strong and athletically gifted, able to lift a car to help people, able to out run a train to the next station stuff like that. So its not to be taken too seriously and to be clear I don't think its over done, just a few scenes here and there of ML doing some incredible physical feats but its not too, its just a bit of quirky fun here and there. Besides that, it's pretty grounded in reality so don't worry about watching it and thinking it's some crazy, silly kdrama, it's not. It's a fun, romantic kdrama thats light and funny and cute and low on angst.

The ML and FL get together officially in ep 6 (kind off, they mutually confess and kiss in ep 6). What happens is they both like each other, but FL due to her trauma where she was incorrectly accused of having an affair with a students parent and humiliated, tells ML she doesn't want to date a students parent (ML acts as the father for his nephew). I totally get this, how her trauma would prevent her from dating a parent, and to be clear she did not have an affair, she was stalked but people thought she had an affair and was humiliated. So they confess to each other and ML tells her he will wait 2 years for her until his nephew laves school (in ep 6). However, they both get jealous, some funny scenes of them jealous, and end of ep 6 he can't hold himself back and they kiss. Then they agree to go on a date for one day before going back to being a teacher and parent and waiting until ML's nephew finishes school (date in ep 7, very cute and sweet). But they pretty much just can't stop thinking about each other and in ep 8 they kiss again and ep 9 they go public after FL conquers her fears. So technically speaking they go public in ep 9, but I feel like the kiss at the end of ep 6 was the official start to their relationship (as they confessed in ep 6, had a date in ep 7, and another kiss in ep 8) it just took a couple eps for FL to gather the strength to go public with ML (due to her trauma) but it was clear she couldn't stop thinking about him even if they agreed to wait till ML's nephew was out of school. This honestly sounds more angsty and complicated then it actually is, I think I described it really badly but honestly its all mostly fun and cute, seeing Ml and FL miss each other, think about each other and seeing FL get the courage to go public was nice (especially as FL was supported by her fellow teachers).

From there on out, they do face obstacles as both ML and FL have traumatic pasts but they support each other through them with no break up. What I like is that their support is quiet but strong. They don't force themselves into the middle of the other's trauma but just support them behind the scenes and be there for them. The relationship is very cute and sweet. I really enjoyed the chemistry between them. There is a 2ML but he isn't the annoying or toxic type, honestly he's barely a 2ML so no worries there.

ML fell first but FL fell just as hard as he did, she is reserved but its sweet seeing ML slowly bring out her old cheerful personality, ML is a pure green flag and seeing him melt her defenses and them finally getting together was quite nice. They are just as sweet together, they have no real issues with each other once they're together, the only obstacles are their traumas but there is never even a hint of a break up really.

There are two other side couples, both are sweet and cute, no real issues there either. The main second couple is ML's nephew and his classmate, they're rivals/enemies at first (the girl he likes sees him as competition always taking number 1 in class, while he likes her from the start), but slowly she falls for him. A nice sweet innocent romance.

The traumatic pasts both ML and FL have are heavy but someone the drama keeps its light tone, never gets too dark or gloomy and near the end of the drama when each deals with their traumas, its dealt with quiet quickly and only helps strengthen ML and FL's relationship.

The drama ends with ML proposing to FL so a HE.

Overall, it's a fun, romantic kdrama, not to be taken too seriously but just a bit of stress free fun and sweetness. This isn't for everyone, its a little quirky, and really just a simple, stress free romance, comedy kdrama, but for people looking for just a bit of low angst sweet and slightly quirky fun, this is for you.

One thing that has lowkey stood out to me, I love FL's sense of humor, her like sarcastic/witty humor is pretty funny I think. When she told Wu Ren if they kill me, they definitely won't let you live either and in today's ep, when she says to the pipa player, we met on the seventeenth, you acting like a stranger deeply hurts me. I actually really like this sarcastic and witty sense of humor she has. Might not be for everyone but I enjoy it.

I have to say the fight scenes in ep 5 and 6 were really really good I thought, choreographed really nicely and the acrobatics of how FL fights was awesome. It was also filmed nicely. The sword fight was really well done and the cloth fight was awesome as well. I like how they made FL's fighting style quite acrobatic with a lot of aerial movements. I know theres some mixed thoughts on the drama but I thought ep 5 and 6 were really strong, starting to settle into its own now.

Remember we only on case 2 out of 7, but either way no matter what, the fight scenes were really awesome, really well choreographed, performed and filmed.

For Kdrama lovers out here, the currently ongoing Spring Fever is a really nice romance kdrama. It's mostly stress free, no break up so far, ML falls for FL quickly and FL while closed off (due to past trauma), opens up to him. Warning, it's a fun, comedic, stress free, low angst drama that isn't meant to be taken too seriously. No real annoying 2ML or 2FL's, just a fun little watch where you can turn off our brain and enjoy some romance and fun, I'll write a proper review and possibly suggest it being added to the list depending on how it ends, but so far it's a nice stress free fun romance kdrama, so thought I would let people know in the comments here if theres people with nothing to watch.

Also cdrama Unveil jadewind starts today, a mystery cdrama with a strong, skilled at fighting and investigating FL which looks interesting, has a creepy vibe which I like, should be some romance in that as well but only minor. Also how dare you, another cdrama will start tomorrow, that should be more romance heavy and comedic as well, just letting everyone know, I agree with other comments definitely a bit slow recently with cdramas, but hopefully things are heating up again.

Love between the lines is pretty good as well, but heads up there is a break up for about one and a half eps from ep 24 until 26, but besides that and an annoying 2ML, its pretty good

I haven’t actually seen this one yet. I, too, would like to find out :)
I agree with everything you said, the mothers were so great and the relationship developed so well.

Not sure what you've seen but for me one of my favorite modern cdrama is Meet yourself, however need to get past the first ep, thats angsty but otherwise its a really nice slow burn romance.

The best thing that released this year

Theres also the rational life, some people dislike it as its an age gap romance with an older FL and younger ML but I found it cute, the romance is slow burn but the chemistry is quite good, there are some annoying characters though especially at FL's work but she's a strong character that doesn't let that get to her and very sweet how Ml and FL support each other. Similar to Shine on me as ML and FL work together, and they support each other through work obstacles and slowly grow closer, with ML eventually leaving to pursue his passion again similar to Shine on me after they are together. But this isn't for everyone due to the age gap and there are some annoying characters but I found their relationship very cute and supportive.

Similar theres Nothing but you 2023, another older FL and younger ML, a bit of angst in the early parts especially when FL is unable to accept ML at first but once they get together a very cute and supportive relationship that is stress/angst free after they get together.

If you want something historical, something like Destined. Once ml and FL get together properly they are super committed and overcome some major obstacles together, however later on FL does fake her death to help ML, only revealing she is alive and they reunite after a little bit. I was a bit annoyed they included that but overall a really nice historical romance that is super supportive.

Not sure if you watch kdramas but Family by choice, which is the kdrama remake of Go Ahead cdrama but personally I liked Family by choice Better. The fathers are so so supportive so we have the supportive family aspect, the romance happens later but is very cute once they are together, some toxic elements especially one of the ML's mothers, but its sweet how supportive they all are of each other.

Amidst a snowstorm of love and you are my glory kind of go without saying, you've probably watched them already.

Forever love 2020 a very cute romance as well, super supportive couple.

Anyway those are just some recs I can think of straight away, you have probably seen most but hopefully theres some in there you haven't seen

I liked it, it's something different and the ML and FL did a good job. Theres not too much of a headache as you know they'll always get back together and I also dislike break ups but this one felt kind of necessary, especially as the FL was still young, like in college and had a lot of stuff going on. Overall I think it's worth it, the majority is really good, but there is a bit of angst between like ep 22 until like ep 25ish but I don't think its too bad.
