Yeh exactly, in ep 14, she even begs ML to start over, saying she really loves him and wants to start fresh. She apologizes and feels like she's in the wrong. Thats why I said, I don't think she even fully realizes yet she doesn't need him. For her, it's like loosing her parents over again. But slowly she will realize she can thrive with or without him.

Drama already crossed 30k tonight. So early, still should have another 2-3 hours of climbing before dropping again. Insane. Could genuinely get very, very high tonight.

Hahaha so true we've been right so far, if the big spoiler about his son is correct and the possibility Fang Lie killed her sister (though thats not spoiled, more a guess), this drama will get even crazier

Man ep 14 was tough to watch, even though we knew it was coming. Poor Xu Yan. It was like loosing her parents love over again, her emotion was so raw. I think both her and ML need to understand that honestly, he needs her more than she needs him. And the reason she was with him is not because she needed him, but because she wanted to be with him. I think Xu Yan herself, doesn't realize it fully yet, that she doesn't need him to be happy and thrive, but is starting to realize.

As for ML, I wonder when he'll realize FL wasn't after his money and status and that currently, he needs her, while she really doesn't need him. His deal and job going forward rely on her and their image, while without him, she can still thrive. I think he overestimates his control, and that honestly, the balance of power has shifted greatly in ep 14, just that neither of them fully realize it yet. Next few eps are going to be so good.

Yeh of course, I like how it's different from the novel here more exciting. Plus the novel was super depressing

100%, he was too arrogant in his control of FL I think. He probably thought he could control her regardless if she knew or not, how wrong he is.

Pretty much he was playing and using Fang lei the whole time. Flirting with her, being nice to her so she would get her father to help him. Once he gets her father's help, he straight up rejects her, throws her to the side. Even get's a lawyer (the guy we saw drive her home) to threaten her to stay away from him. Pretty much played her, used her than ruthlessly rejects her, which I have no problem with, she deserves it. But guess what, next thing Fang lei does is go and tell FL the whole truth about his kid and all his manipulation. Like how did you not expect her to get revenge. Did you not see that coming.

Idk what ML was thinking in ep 13. Absolutely cold blooded, ruthless with how he dealt with Fang Lei, did not see that coming at all. Man is absolutely a cold blooded killer. But, did he not think that would majorly backfire. Fang Lei is not a woman I would want as an enemy, did he not think about the consequences. Very short sighted decision, idk what he was thinking, I think his belief in his control over FL and him underestimating her, made him too arrogant, and he's going to pay the price.

Yeh exactly, at the end of the day her motives are pure and his aren't and like you said she tried to tell the truth. She wants real love and family, not a transaction. Same here, can't wait for post-divorce era.

Hahaha glad, you're interested, I know many people aren't but I keep voting the updates for people that are. Definitely, she deserves it, heat index last night broke 30,477, becoming the highest heat index for tencent in 2025 and in the top 10 highest ever.

Really good points, divorce is definitely needed, for both to heal from the past and start afresh. Just so you know though, the novel is completely, utterly different, only 6 chapters/pages and a whole different story pretty much. So not worth going off that.
