How much do I love that Po is NOT oblivious to the signs Thame is giving and interprets them correctly (even though Thame didn't get it himself without a little help from his friend)?
I strongly suspect that after Cherry Magic, this will be the second absolutely perfect GMMTV series to me. Coincidentally, they are airing at the same time, a year apart.
Every single interaction Thame and Po have had until now has been romanctic and felt very personal and deep, even the very first time they met. Watching them, I feel like I'm invading their privacy, they have such a strong reaction to each other and a chemistry to die for. Both William and Est are killing it with the stares and the caring for each other. Seriously, why would Jun say something like that to Po, is he deliberately turning a blind eye or does he have a thing for Thame himself? He seems very perceptive and clever to me and I don't think he himself believed what he told Po. There must be something behind it.
I'm also happy with the general plot, it's different and I personally am glad that the series, despite being about an idol music group, is not overflowing with too much music.
The episodes are very short and this is my only complaint. They could've done a couple of minutes more per episode and made the series 12 episodes with 45 - 50 min. length, instead of 13 episodes with 40 minutes length. That being said, there are not many series that I wish were released before I started watching so I would binge them, but this is one of them.
But why did Bison tell Fadel that they are both snitches? He has no evidence Style is involved and let's not forget that Bison himself was the one who gave Kant the idea to distract Fadel by finding him a boyfriend and helped Style by getting information about Fadel's habits.
Of course, Style is not innocent, because he knows what is going on and helped Kant, but calling him a snitch is too much. He started as completely innocent and is the only one from the group who hasn't done anything illegal.
Almost all BLs airing right now are serving and I couldn't be happier, but I still wanted to say how impressed I am with this one. It's even better when you rewatch it, because the episodes are so short, but after rewatching the first 7 episodes yesterday, I realised how well the mains' relationship was developed and went from them not knowing what to think of each other to being completely crazy about each other.
I'm a little worried there are only 2 episodes left to give a satisfactory ending for all complicated relationships going on - Zi Xiang and the cousin he loves but who has been trying to kill him the entire time, the side couple, the two meddling women who really should mind their own business btw, Zi Xiang and his father who we saw for about a second but who still dictates his life - but they've done well so far, so I have faith.
Shao Peng and his parents are so awesome, though. No wonder he turned out like that, these have to be the best parents you can ever wish for.
It would be worth it to check the IQIYI link again. Until yesterday, it said that it was not available in my country, but now it seems that it is after all. I'm excited about this, I liked the pilot trailer.
I need someone to edit this after its done airing. I dont even hate the hill and ter storyline but jesus why did…
Yes, this is what I thought while watching episode 13, too. The Hill/Ter SL is not only too long, but also confusing, because it was told in too many episodes completely out of order, with many flashbacks: before they officially met, then when they met at school, the sister, the families, then university, then them confessing, but not getting together for ages, etc. I hate saying things about people getting fired, but whoever wrote this script and whoever edited the series could've done a much, much, much better job.
Johan and North being a main couple isn't adding up at all. This was episode 13 and HillTer still got half of it for a flashback that was completely unnecessary, IMO. It's not like we didn't know they've liked each other for a long time.
Hill and Ter have had the first 5 episodes completely for themselves, and no, the Johan/North meeting at the door in episode 5 that lasted less than a minute doesn't count. There was exactly one episode that was about North and Johan only (episode 8). The rest has been split about 50/50. With only 3 episodes left, they can't even this out, considering that there's even a side couple in the Johan/North SL.
Why are more Hill and Ter flashbacks necessary? They were starry-eyed for each other since the very beginning of the series and we got it. Them not being together was not because of them, but because of their families. There was no relationship to develop here because they were already into each other. Is it really necessary to know how many times in the past they've met?
There's the backstory of Johan falling in love with North, but so far, we've received only crumbs, and again, only 3 episodes left. Why not show that instead of Hill and Ter's flashback that has no relevance for their SL at all? It would've made more sense to show how and why Johan fell for North to such an extend without North knowing.
Plz, let the last three episodes be about Johan and North only, together with the side couple, and Hill and Ter only as background characters.
Where are those scenes where Jo was nice to North? Where is this sentiment "I like him because he was nice to…
Well, Johan did save him from getting sexually assaulted. Maybe this is what North means?
Don't get me wrong, I understand what you mean, but I think that North's growing affection, if we can call it that, is based on gestures like knowing that Johan did things to cover up North's involvement in the bar fight, saving him from Day and the other two thugs, taking care of him all night after that, etc. IMO North is paying attention to all of this more than to Johan's general behaviour, which is obviously both possessive and obssessive to the fault.
Also, I'm not saying North enjoys being bought, but he seems to enjoy the kissing. ;) Honestly, I think he's still conflicted about the whole situation and is still trying to sort it out, at the same time going along with what Johan wants because he feels some sort of gratitude towards him and is physically attracted to him.
Hill and Ter: have liked each other since forever, mutually and very obviously, confessed their love in episode 7, became boyfriends 5 (!!) episodes later. Hill was in a towel and horny, but if I remember correctly, there was mainly a very long conversation between. All of the latter took more than half of episode 12.
Johan and North: started as a totally one-sided relationship, with obssessive and clingy Johan doing anything to keep North in his proximity, no matter what. Johan just confessed in the last episode, but these two are kissing (and not just lightly) every time they see each other, despite North not being clear about his feelings yet. My guess is that they will become official very soon, either in the next or in the episode after it.
Yup, I enjoyed the second half of the episode more than the first and I like Johan and North's chemistry, but if I have to be completely honest, both relationships are kinda weird.
This was, imho, the best NC scene ForceBook have had until now. They really have improved a lot. I didn't feel them in Only Friends, but here I'm all for them 100%.
MarcPoon were thrown together by random and yet it works. Loved how direct and straightfoward Pond and Sand were, in contrast to ArmArc.
I didn't expect the enjoy this series as much as I do! Right now, gmmtv really are serving.
I wanna second what everyone is saying, this was a great start! I knew I was going to like this since the pilot trailer, but so far it's even better than I expected, I watched the first episode twice already.
Gmmtv are serving right now, I'm enjoying all 3 BLs (and Pluto too) they've got going.
I HEAVY agree with the first part, watching the episode I was WISHING Ter would just talk about anything else…
They wasted the precious North and Johan airing time on Ter and the others urging North to date Johan. Really, let him be, he'll get there at his own pace and when he's ready. I'm amazed how he could stay so calm, I would've exploded at some time and told them to stfu.
But North is a cool, chill and relaxed person and can endure a lot, apparently, with Johan who used to order him around and his friends (Ter especially) not leaving him alone about Johan.
Can we please have more scenes of North and Johan together? The chemistry is there, they can be sweet and funny with each other and North will get there without having Ter and his other friends pressure him.
At least he's not letting them or anyone else influence him, at least this is what I see. He rejected his ex-girlfriend because he wanted to and he's giving Johan a chance because he wants to and not because his friends tell him to, so they should just stop. He was all smiley and looked happy when Johan kept hugging him, unlike with Day, who he didn't want anywhere near him. Just... I need them to interact more in person, because their chemistry, the visuals and the feelings are there, simmering, and need to be let out.
And no, I'm not saying North is in love with Johan, because he isn't yet, but if he's willing to open up for the possibility, he isn't indifferent. It's a beginning.
One last thing - if North did absolutely NOT want Johan to kiss him, he would've rejected him resolutely, like he did with his ex-girlfriend and Day. Johan gave him the option to do that. Maybe I'm biased, but I see no sexual harrassment here. Also, if you look closely, North was kissing back. :)
Every single interaction Thame and Po have had until now has been romanctic and felt very personal and deep, even the very first time they met.
