At the beginning of the story Fan Xiao is 26, You Shulang 29 years old.
Unfortunately, the series doesn't make it absolutely clear exactly how old Fan Xiao is (althouth it's obvious he has to be at least in his mid-twenties), but I'm a book reader and Fan Xiao's age is stated in the book. During the conversation Fan Xiao and Shulang had the first time the tsunami came up, Fan Xiao said he was 7 years old when it all happened and that had been 19 years ago, i.e. Fan Xiao was 26 at the time of this conversation. Therefore, the birthday Fan Xiao was celebrating with Shulang when the brothers interrupted them must've been his 27-th.

False translation. The brother meant that the last time Fan Xiao has had a panic attack before Shulang left him, had been when Fan Xiao was 18 and visisted the beach again. Fan Xiao himself admitted that to Shulang in episode 4.
So, the brother said 18, but the context was different. It's quite obvious that Fan Xiao cannot be 18. He is, like he said, a couple of years older than Lu Zhen who is about 23, and, like Shulang said, only a couple of years younger than himself.
I'm on ep 7 and I want to rip my hair off. Fan Xiao is incredibly annoying and I feel so bad for Shu Lang 😅
If you find Fan Xiao unberable to watch in episode 7, then probably the series indeed is not for you, because he's not even nearly done. He gets worse, like, a lot worse.
I'd advise you to watch episode 8 too, because it's one of the best in the series, Hao Yi Ran's acting was unparalleled and you can then pretend it ends there and not continue, if you can't deal with Fan Xiao getting worse.
My beloved cat who was with me for 14 years died almost two years ago, so the cat's death hit me really, really hard. Right now I kinda regret watching the last episode, because it has triggered me and I can't stop crying.
It'll be three months since this ended soon and I still can't get away from Fan Xiao and Shulang's intense and unique love story. I don't know how many times I've rewatched this. I've also been checking every day for news about the extra episode. I need help. :( Very few stories have managed to move and impress me this much. Please hurry up with the extra episode, I'm not ready to let go without some happiness!
At least the actors seem to be doing very well, both of them. So deserved. <3
It seems like this one is really coming soon, it's already showing on my "Coming soon" list on iQIYI. I'm really excited for it, the pilot trailer was great, my expectations are high. I need to get myself in check in order not to get disappointed.
For the sake of completeness, Jay and Champ should've died, too. Kamin and Jade were so bad as cops that they wouldn't have prevented it. I don't understand why these two had to survive, it's not that they were better than their dead buddies.
Normally I avoid being negative, but because this was one of my most anticipated series from last year's GMMTV announcements, I have to say that there was something missing. Everything was passionless, sterile, there was no spark in anything - plot, writing, relationships, characters. The sound was lacking, too. Dunk is getting more handsome with time, but this was the only highlight I had - looking at his pretty face. Even in Hidden Agenda, which was not good either, at least the kisses were good and I felt the mains were into each other. Here even that was missing.
OK, Ming is not the king of most horrible mains anymore, the crown goes to Kelvin, very deservingly so. I can't remember any of the others killed anyone.
I'm so happy for my favourite Peat to get this role and he's doing a great job, I got scared just by looking at him several times.
I'm going to rant a bit on the comments given so far for the show. I find that most of the people nowadays lack…
Thank you, because this is what I was thinking yesterday after reading many comments about the story being confusing, because I personally see nothing confusing about it. Sure, it's not told in a linear way, but it's still not that hard to differentiate about what's in the past and present, both are kept separate and will be connected when the story pogresses.
Finally a great show for my FortPeat and for them to show their acting range. I love seeing Peat playing a manipulative psycho. Bring it on, I'm here for all of it!
He isn't 18, he's 26 at the beginning of the series.
Bad translation. Fan Yu meant that the last time Fan Xiao had an episode had been when he was 18 and went to the beach again, i.e. Shulang leaving him is as bad, because it has the same effect. Fan Xiao is actually about 28 when Fan Yu and Shulang have that conversation, because some time has passed since the beginning of the story.
You can scroll down and see that we already had this discussion. It's annoying that Gaga's bad translation confuses so many people, but it makes no sense whatsoever for Fan Xiao to be 18. He's only a couple of years younger than Shulang and older than Lu Zhen.
There's no way. I'm really hoping the translation is wrong. Saying Fan Xiao is 18 years old??? makes no sense,…
Wrong translation. Fan Yu wanted to say that the last time Fan Xiao had a panic attack before Shulang left him, had been when he was 18 and went to the beach again, i.e. Shulang rejecting him has the same effect. Fan Xiao himself told Shulang about it when they were at the beach together.
Fan Xiao is 26 years old at the beginnung of the novel and about 29 at the end. Unfortunately, the timeline was not that clearly stated in the series. You Shulang's age was a little messed up in the novel as well, because from the beginnung to the almost end, he was "almost 30", which cannot be if three years have passed. Logically, if Shulang was 28 or 29 at the beginnung (whatever "almost 30" is supposed to mean), he should be 31 - 32 at the end.
