Unpopular opinion - I like it a lot, and watched the last 10 minutes of today's episode twice. Hill's friends are so funny and the confession scene was awkward, but somehow endearing. When Hill said that it's obvious who he has liked all the time, I was all "Duh, seriously." No idea why Ter didn't see what was right in front of him the entire time.
The second couple will finally meet next week, I'm excited about them too!
I've learned to ignore MDL rating, but I still have to say that this rating is a joke and it doesn't reflect even…
Exactly. Maybe the show is not for you for whatever reason (although, for the life of me, I will never understand why anyone would not like the mains, both of them, their relationship and the actors who play them), but it should be possible to give credit when it's deserved, and it is, because this is a good quality show and at least this should be recognised by anyone trying to be objective.
I can't take 1 or 2 or even 5 stars ratings here seriously.

Wang and Tian bumping into each other in episode 3 and them staring at each other in episode 10 had more chemistry than many lifeless, awkward NC scenes I've seen. To sum it up - yes, characters can have a strong romantic and even sexual chemistry without being involved.

I've seen different justifications - it's not a BL (no comment needed, it obviously is, even though the mains didn't end up together), no happy ending (which I get, but it doesn't change the fact that the series was well-produced, well-directed, well-written, well-developed, had compelling characters, a great relationship and chemistry between the mains and let's not forget, the acting was impecable), too slow (because two teenagers with different personalities and several issues who are pushed to treat each other like brothers and visit a conservative school in 2012 would never take their time to get friendly first and realise and accept their own feelings), etc. I get people have their own taste, don't get me wrong, but personal taste aside and objectively seen, the series is very, very good and it's obvious how much love and effort everybody involved has put into it.
The rating is not bad, I've seen worse, but in this case, it should be higher.

Psych Hunter is an ok drama. I'm watching it right now, and at this moment I'd rank it 7/10 (probably 8/10 if…
Thank you! I'll give Psych-Hunter a try and see if LDQ alone will make me keep watching until the end, 36 episodes later. The plot also seems like something I would like.
I have a somehow unrelated question to the Liu Dong Qin fans - I really, really liked his acting and would like to watch him in something else, but I don't know where to start, he has a long acting career and many shows to choose from. Can you recommend something to me? I saw some clips from Psych-Hunter, is that one good? I'd prefer something without romance or if there's any, only a light one.
Right now, there are two BL series that I consider messy and bad for several reasons I don't want to go into - this one and Battle of the Writers.
I know why I'm still watching Battle of the Writers, but I have absolutely no idea about why I'm still watching this one, and yet I can't drop it for some reason. They must be doing something right, but for the life of me I can't tell you what it is.
This has to be the most openly romantic BL I've seen in a long time. The mains are just screaming romance since episode 1 and in a very obvious way, too. The plot is completely secondary, not that I mind.
What's more disgusting is people calling us homophobic because we love this show. Why would homophobic people…
I absolutely agree that I Feel You Linger in the Air is amazing, but currently, at least here, Jack & Joker has a higher rating.
The BL with the highest rating on MDL from what I can find is Love For Love's Sake, which has the same rating as Jack & Joker - 8.8. The difference is that the former is finished.

Love Mechanics is way better than KP! KP was entertaining, but it didn't leave a big impression on me. Of course, I realise this is an unpopular opinion. :)

So far, I agree, I think Love Mechanics was better than Jack & Joker, although of course we have to wait until Jack & Joker is finished.
It's so funny because I consider Love Mechanics my favourite BL show for 2022, together with Semantic Error, despite it having a cheating and very frustrating ML, a very toxic and unhealthy relationship betweeen the mains at the beginning, and a very questionable consent in episode 1. So much about me absolutely loving a show like The On1y One because supposedly I don't want to watch NC scenes. I loved LM despite the faults I pointed out, because it was extremely well-written, directed and acted and it made me feel things and has stayed with me, just like The On1y One will. If a show is written well, the characters are developed well, the acting is on point and the directing too and I feel it, I'm going to watch it and love it, no matter whether it has kissing, NC scenes, etc. or not.

It's a very unique series and cannot be compared to any popular BL series released this year.
The rating is not bad, I've seen worse, but in this case, it should be higher.
I don't watch much heterosexual romance these days, but when I choose to do so, Chinese romance would be about last on my list. ;)
