is this series good ? i'm trying to watch the first episode but i'm bored and those sound effects are kinda annyoing
The first episode is hard to watch and I nearly gave up, but ep. 2 and 3 were better. Also, the MLs are likable, especially the older one, who's very open, honest and straightforward, a rarity in BL dramas. Unfortunately, the female characters are just... urgh.
You can decide if you want to continue, but it gets better after ep. 1.
It's been a while since I've seen such an awful and unlikable ML as Elis. It's very unpleasant to watch. Why is Pat putting up with this? He does way more than a secretary should. Being obviously attracted to the a**hole is not good enough, he's supposed to be a grown up man.
I saw some people are circulating about the crowdfunding idea on X and IG. But actually the director SAID that…
This is what I saw, too. From what I've understood, the director has received so many messages about season 2 that his mailbox has exploded and fans were offering to crowdfund S2 if necessary. At the moment, they apparenty are negotiating with production companies, streaming plattforms, etc. Let's just say that I'm more hopeful than I was before. π
Okay I get this is a slow burn but I need some analysis from everyone.1. Nothing really shows that they are falling…
There's nothing to defend here - either you see romantic chemistry or, as you say, you interpret their affection as friendly/brotherly, which for me very obviously isn't.
Have you seen episode 10? If you still think Wang and Tian's reactions to each other's presence and actions are brotherly, then I'm afraid that you'll never see it and the show is probably not for you, because they are into each other and will become a couple at some point, be it in this season or (hopefully) in season 2.
If you are asking for an obvious sign that Tian's feelings are not brotherly, you can watch the ending of episode 7 again, it's dead telling. Generally, you don't get a boner immediately after you see your brother or friend you're not attracted to and feel sorry for has a morning wood. Also, saying that Tian would drop everything and would do everything for Wang because he hasn't got a mother and he feels sorry for him is a real stretch. I don't want to generalise, but people don't act like that out of pity for someone, it would never go that far.
I respected your opinion at first but the fact that you had the audacity to say βIt will never be as popular…
Thank you for making me check the trends, because I realised that Kidnap has trended in my country. I've never seen any BL trend in my country before and am honestly both baffled and happy. π

OT, but: is Peaceful Property really a het show? I thought they were going to keep it strictly gen with no pairings. At least I haven't noticed anything romantic between any of the mains so far.
I'm even more impressed by Leng after this episode, the panic attack was really well done.
Glad to see James knew Min wouldn't kill Q, otherwise he would be the stupidest character ever written. Also, thankfully this kidnapping issue has been resolved pretty quickly and now Q is with Min voluntarily and not because he has no choice.
Love the series so far and can only beg they won't ruin it at the end like they did with The Trainee.
The only difference between episode 10 and earlier episodes is that SW finally started to realise his real feelings and was oblivious to them before. The romance was there all the time, it's just that SW didn't know. JT has been carering to SW's every wish since the beginning and would drop everything for him. You don't do that for someone who's supposed to be a friend only.
Of course, this is just my opinion, but I've been seeing romantic moments between them since the biginning, even before they decided to get closer. Just think of episode 2, when JT confronted SW in front of his room after just having had a shower. The tension was there even then.
Season 2 is not confirmed and they have to give us something in case it doesn't happen. Please, they can't give us a development and chemistry and deep love like that and leave us hanging. If I don't get my confession in episode 12, I'm suing them. Seriously, our MLs are whipped and gone for each other to a level that surpasses even committed adult relationships, and considering how young they are, this is impressive. I want my confession next week and won't accept anything less.
After this episode, I'm sure Tian is aware of his feelings and has been for a while, while Wang is finally starting to realise them, but it's still work in progress.
This was the most romantic episode so far, the mutual attraction was in every look, move, deed and touch, from both sides. I think the season will end with a confession. π₯°
I feel so lucky I get to watch this, Tian and Wang make me so happy. Amazingly developed slow-burn love story between two young boys who complete each other. Perfection!!!
If the writers want me to feel sorry for Qi Jia Hao, they are not doing a good job. After this episode, I dislike his whiny, loosy, jealous sorry ass even more. Your schoolmates like Wang because he's none of these things, you sorry excuse for a human being. Just go away.
This triangle thing between the teachers is just weird and I can't figure out what's going on. I don't get why no one called the police, the female teacher was assaulted by four men with a knife and yet the three of them acted like it was nothing and Zhao Xi even decided to eat those scones in that moment? Very peculiar reaction.
Tian can stop trying to resist Wang, it's useless, he will end up doing what Wang asks him to anyway. π₯°Wang has owned him from the very beginning. Just admit it, you'll cater to his every wish for life and I'm here to watch it.
I liked the series and I think it's one of the best this year, but I would've preferred Great to die instead of Tonkla. It's not about "deserving" or not, I get that Tonkla went too far in his revenge, but I honestly think he did so because he felt he had no other choice, unlike Great, who had all the possibilities to stop Dome's murder and didn't. This is the difference between the two for me - I can sympathise with Tonkla. With Great, not so much.
I didn't buy the Korn/Tonkla love, it wasn't well done. Korn forgot about Tonkla since episode 2 and went back to him only after the girl threw him out. It was one-sided and it made no sense to me that Korn would shoot himself.
All in all, I cared about Tonkla and his story more than about the leads, especially Great, because he was imo one of the most selfish and uncaring characters I've ever seen in a BL.
Sheng Wang is still oblivious and unaware of his real feelings even though the school's director literally told him what's going on, the plot between the three teachers has barely started, Tian would rather have Wang as a "brother" than not have him at all and would never say anything without encouragement from Wang, everybody considers them brothers now, which would slow an eventual confession further, and there are only 4 episodes to go. My guess is that they will come together at the end of the show if they keep up the development of the story and characters, and they've been consistent so far.
I hope season 2 will materialise, but unfortunately, I can't trust that it will, this happens even to the best shows like this one. So, please no cliffhangers or open endings, these are the worst.
Edit: please, if you can afford it, watch the show legally, they've made it easy to do so bacause it's released on every possible plattform, although there might be some restrictions depending on where you are. If they see that many people are watching and loving the show, then hopefully they will ignore the Chinese ratings and make season 2.
I don't think there will be a better BL series this year for me, and it's not even finished. I'm calling it. I don't think this can be topped. I've rewatched all episodes several times and can't get enough of these two. It's so great that they've taken time to show us both characters equally, their issues, their likes and dislikes, and their deep connection. Much as I'm a lover of love at first sight (and I believe there was attraction at first sight from Tian), I'm very greatful they've taken their time to show why these two are drawn to each other, why they make each other so happy and why they would be the only one for each other. There's not just physical attraction, but also a deeply emotional connection and understanding between them.
A couple of notable moments from the last episode:
- Tian would really do anything for Wang. I can't with him, he's so whipped and cares so much. It broke my heart to watch him run in panic from class to look for Wang. Not being able to resist Wang's pout was so cute. I think he should've figured out by now that there's no use to protest, because he will end up doing what Wang asks him to anyway. - Wang is the more articulate of the two. I might be wrong, but I think he'll confess first. - the cute girl Chili likes Wang, right? I didn't really get the part when Gao Tianyang asked Wang something about changing orientation and Wang brushed him off. Was it a bad translation and can anyone explain to me what was going on? - Can't wait for the dorm era! We know the parents will say yes, especially if Wang presses them. - Last but not least - the mere fact that Tian is a big cat lover tells you everything about him being the greenest flag ever you need to know.
I'm starting to think they are doing this deliberately to make sure we watch the cut and then the uncut version. Let's wait and see what they've cut this time.
Also, for some reason, the first two episodes are not available on YouTube anymore.
