I believe that ML warned FL about the princess bringing in the head of Zhennu Tang as a witness against her. Hence, FL will be prepared. I think it happened when they were outside when the FL gave the ML the handkerchief back and they glossed over the conversation so we couldn’t hear.

I don’t think the SYR loves the princess either because the person he loves the most is himself. He is just playing along and simply waiting for a moment to overthrow the princess as well. I think he genuinely wants to be a scholar but he just doesn’t want to be controlled by anyone or be tied back by anyone. He’s just a selfish and spineless person who will always choose himself.

I’m not too sure either but it could also just be fan rumors regarding cutting down this drama’s episode length. It’s very interesting, like imagine Ashes of Love being cut down to 40eps🤣

What’s the new censorship around short length dramas?

Well due to c drama regulations, c dramas can only have max 40eps. TTEOM was originally meant to air in two halves instead so it could air all 58eps but then, there was another regulation that said there must be a 6 months gap between the broadcasting period. sigh, hence, it got cut down to 40eps. 18eps was cut, a lot of scenes were cut probs leading to the open ended ending instead of following the novel. I believe that is why TTEOM ended up increasing its episodes length by 10 minutes due to 18eps being cut.

Anyway it just shows that regulations are constantly changing. TTEOM and My Journey to You were 2023 dramas, regulations has probs changed now or became stricter.

hmm I found a slightly clearer character chart and actually just noticed that on the character chart it has an arrow between Ye Shi Jie and XFF, and states that Ye Shi Jie is cousins with XFF?

it says “好友” which basically means good/close friend.

Ye Zhen Zhen is the eldest daughter. And Ye Shi Jie’s father should be the eldest son. As we already know that the second son is Ye Ming Xuan and the third son is Ye Ming Yu. When Ye Ming Yu was drunk and crying, he was indeed referring to the death of his eldest sister Ye Zhen Zhen. But when he was talking to JL as he told her that he was going to sell the escort agency, he was referring his eldest brother and wife being deceased so now it’s only left to them to save the Ye family.

I belive that the Ye family has three sons actually. Ye Shi Jie should be the eldest uncle’s son. But I think the eldest uncle is dead cause Ye Ming Yu mentioned that his eldest brother and eldest wife has died. So I imagine that Ye Shi Jie’s parents are deceased. The reason why Ye Jia Er calls Ye Shi Jie brother is bc in Chinese culture you often refer to your cousins as brother or sister.

I heard someone say that in the novel the only people who knows her true identity in the end are her family and Duke Su.
