Title Nancheng Banquet Spoiler
Saw a preview, no wayyy, the emperor ends up throwing the ML in jail and the FL is forced to marry the emperor in exchange for the ML’s freedom!! I can’t believe the emperor becomes that resentful and actually evil bc of jealousy.

Looks like there’s gonna be a happy ending according to the airring calendar. Also I have noticed SoHu usually does happy endings with thriller, mystery, romance dramas like this. e.g Mysterious Love, Love of Replica. Oh and ofc the theme where the FL is the ML’s light ahaha

Oh and I just realised the actress playing the FL had a role in Love of Replica.

Regarding the letter contents, it was hard to interpret what it said since it was blurred in the edges and it used traditional Chinese characters. It contained quite a few idioms that had very deep meaning. Essentially it just implied that; we will meet again, while you have won for now, it’s hard to say in the future who will win or lose.

There was more, but again I couldn’t read the whole thing properly and tbh you would probs need a Chinese scholar to translate the vocab used lol. So I don’t think ordinary audience members were meant to be understand it even if u spoke/understood Chinese due to the depths of its content.

Just hope this drama airs peacefully. RM is a great actress. I just feel sorry for her with all the cr*p she's…
I think RM looks rlly good in this drama, her face and styling suits her perfectly for the role of Yi Ning. I hope haters won’t come for her again like in The Longest Promise :(

To me it seemed like the events that occurred in the half of the FL's life as Luo Ai Lian, was just a series of misfortunate, unlucky events. Yes it's clear that nevertheless, the step mum and the two sisters all had evil intent against Luo Ai Lian and would have harmed her sooner or later so that they can seize power. But I'm just stating that what happened in the lead up to fire was not intentional. Rather, the FL was just caught in the crossfire of other people's schemes and no one was scheming directly against her. The death of young master Du was an accident. No-one knew about his illness and that drinking alcohol or getting too overly emotional could lead to his death. Luo Shuang Shuang, didn't intend to be called away by the dad or that the FL would be in the room instead of the wine brewery. No one tried to frame the FL for young master Du 's death, rather the FL admitted it herself that was she there at the time of incident. Luo Shuang Shuang did blame the FL for the father's death, but that was bc she genuinely believed it was the FL since she saw the FL with the dad last. Luo Xue Er had no intent to frame the FL either, in fact, she clearly tried to plant evidence against Luo Shuang Shuang instead by placing the fragrance powder in Luo Shuang Shuang's room. No one anticipated that the FL would discover the evidence and confront Luo Shuang Shuang which almost led to her demise.

I know it is a taboo subject on MDL but don't care 😆 In real life, in my opinion, age gaps are not an issue…
A real life age gap is not necessarily an issue for me unless it's noticeable in the drama. For me, in this drama, indeed it looked like the ML was from a different generation of c dramas. As in, I think his looks, facial features, hair styling, acting reminded me of those 2014 or 2017 political, romance melodramas based in the royal palace with 60+ episodes. I think the age gap between the leads was not my first thought, but it was that the ML didn't fit into this type of plot.

On the other hand, I watched Yong An Dream where there was an age gap as well, but in that drama I think the leads were well paired and had chemistry - I did not sense the generational difference between them and I thoroughly enjoyed that drama.

I hope the prince isn't the mastermind; it would be way too obvious and not fun at all. So far, he just acts like…
FL’s real identity will be revealed by the bad guys including Prince Yi and she will have to carry the offence of stealing someone else’s identity and killing her father. This is probs gonna drag out the revenge and also her conflicted feelings for the ML due to her current identity.

hold det thought-episode 10 he gave himself away at the end-not that she heard it
Yeha I saw that in the trailer that he later admits his feelings for the FL and fights with the ML for her. And he goes like “I’m the one whose been there for her for everything”. *eyeroll*

This drama should have released an express package much earlier such as half way thru the drama instead of the last few episodes. Esp when this drama decided to only release one ep a day. Cause by the time u reach half way thru the drama, the leads have gotten together already and after looking at the airring calendar/trailer, most ppl already know there’s an upcoming break up. And has been anticipating the schemes of the SFL and FL’s family, at that point viewers start to become unmotivated to continue watching esp if they r just waiting for a break up to happen. Yeah maybe they will pick it back up towards the end when the break up is over, but then the MDL thread has already been overloaded with negative comments, it’s honestly gotten to a point that even now that all the episodes are out now, ppl are just gonna permanently drop it. If they put the express package early, ppl could have binged it watched it to the happy ending instead of now slowly watching their misunderstanding get worse and them getting schemed.

I recommend ppl watch My Boss instead, I like these themes where the ML supports the growth of the FL’s career.

Title Hard to Find
I've noticed that many actors and actresses in short TV dramas have the looks and acting skills on par with leads…
Actually the ML in this drama has been in quite a few full length dramas. I first watched him in Fake Princess

What second lead syndrome? He is a piece of shit, who had his answer from FL but still he decided to join hands…
C dramas have this troupe all time which misleads the audience. And besides like I said before, even the ML can clearly see that the older brother has another purpose. I’m sure the later episodes will reveal that he had a plan up his sleeves to settle the matter without informing the FL.

I don’t like the SML either however, It’s very clear from the episode that he is only pretending to to go along with the second uncle’s plan for now. So he’s absolutely not the villain here.

no I don’t think SML actually joined hands with the second uncle, as suggested by the ML, its most likely that the second uncle doesn’t know who the sister is yet for certain and the mysterious older brother( he doesn’t know it’s the SML yet), is mostly likely pretending to partner up with the second uncle for some purpose. This is what ML told SFL and I also agree that the SML has a plan himself and is not gonna betray the FL.

Yes this his real voice because sometimes when he speaks I can hear his Cantonese accent coming through. (This…
I have seen clips of him speaking canto and his accent and pronunciation is very spot on. It even sounds like a Hong Kong accent (even tho he is from Guang Dong), he could definitely pass off in tvb canto dramas.

Title Step by Step Love Spoiler
There was no scene that gave an impression of her having feelings for him tbh. I thought it was clearl from the…
I actually noticed this earlier, there were a few hints like when ML first met SML at the cafe, after the ML leaves, the SML mutters “just like how you stole my father’s love.” Or when the SML talked about how his mother always spoke about how his father was a designer who had heaps of houses, that’s how the SML got the apartment he lives in now.

I just wasn’t sure if Lu Si Ya was adopted too. But now the new ep, does clarify that that she should be the biological child.

Though I am very interested to know why Lu Si Ya stayed with the father while the SML was abandoned.
