I can see your point with how going through hardships such as surviving in an island for 15? years by herself could lead to growth and maturity. She has good wisdom at times but it wasn't clear why her personality seemed to channel a kid like demeanor. It felt a bit attorney woo at times with her physical mannerisms too. She's a terrific beautiful actress, perhaps the show producers wanted to capitalize on the loveable ness of her character on attorney woo.

Interesting observation about her strong survival skills fom being on island helps her survive the competitive music industry.

I'm trying to understand the FLs personality and behavior, there's parts of her that is channeling a bit of Attorney Woo and she seems really childlike too. I love Park Eun Bin in several of the dramas she was in so this isn't an attack, I'm trying to get a clearer understanding on her character arc. Is it because her character didn't emotionally develop more because she was stranded by herself for so many years and because of the horrible abuse she endured from her father?

I think she is really pretty too and the clip of her getting ready for what looks like her wedding she looked gorgeous there.

I thought GMP writers did a fairly good job with the complexity of the ML character but their relationship was sad. The story was told well.

You may want to consider Goodbye My Princess, the ML is ruthless and obsessed with the FL. Its a really tragic story with no HE but he fits the morally grey, cunning, and with a dark side. Another one is Till the End of the Moon, Bai Lu is in it, the ML is traumatized with a dark side and doesn't fit the goody two shoes mold of the ML hero.

Oh, it was adorably funny with the boating scene on the school field trip where JSW gets jealous when HHN freaks out when there's a caterpillar on the boat and she's holding LBG's hands. I guess JSW doesn't feel like he's the ideal type anymore 😁

Yes I'm also finding the best parts are the historical flashbacks. If they didn't have that as part of the storyline, it wouldn't be as good but that is my opinion.

I feel the same way, each episode is about 45 mins long and it feels short, sometimes I'm surprised its already at the end.

Thanks. I got the impression YL did rape her from one of the past flashbacks as revenge in her previous life with her betrayal and rejection. I also didn't know what the context was when there was the flashback of XW drawing a red line on her throat. There was also a flashback of her dis-robing with ZW and pulling him close to her as if she was seducing him, was that their previous life or something that happens in the future? There's plenty of details to this drama!

The part I'm not entirely clear is with her past with him, it seemed like they had some kind of romantic affair before her reincarnation to change her destiny. It also seemed she had several liaisons with different male characters in her previous past. Did those past feelings carry forward in her current situation? I felt like there were moments were she had some small feelings for XW that was beyond a platonic alliance even though she has been scared of him and he was the culprit of her demise in the past. She would tease him when their relationship got better. I can also accept that XN does not have those kinds of feelings for him that way in the episodes so far as the portrayal is more of her fear, distrust and her aligning with him to strengthen the cause of saving the Yan family.

His character is complex, passionate, and quite dangerous its like a moth being drawn to a flame, XW is incredibly good looking and you don't quite know where he stands.

There's a short youtube clip with several different scenes of XN developing affection for XW.
There's some passionate kissing between them and it looks like they are wearing wedding garb where they are lying on the bed making out. lol, i should wait for the future episodes but what the heck is going on? Anyone read the novel and can shed light on how and why their romantic relationship developed? I finished ep 18 and XN is still ambiguous on where she stands with XW romantically as she is still in love with ZZ.

Well said! I don't normally get pissed with villains but some of the members of the Xue family became pretty irritating. The coming of age ceremony topped it off with the Xue's family B.S., let the guy YL have his birthday in peace you jerks. This drama is addictive, I haven't fast forwarded a single episode.

Her brother also deserves a good kick in the rear end. Some members of the Xue family such as her father and the empress are so brazen with bullying the Yan family.
