This is even funnier because it's just extremely campy and absurd. That show had accurate setting and clothes at least. This one is just...WILD!

Ok, the scriptwriter already said, in a million different ways, that this is a bl adaptation and bg fans should go watch the thousands of bg shows that get made every year.

There are shows in cdrama land that have been in limbo for half a decade! I think we can all survive a delay of few months before rewriting the plot of the whole book.
Gosh, the meltdown by the fans is worse than the silly rumors.

Omg those last 10 episodes are out of this world! I personally found all the drama and the fake blood worth it, just for those last ten episodes! lol

I think so? It's just that there's a lot to enjoy other than the romance. I loved the friendships in the story and the supporting characters are so much fun. If you are into xianxia stories, it's a really good watch, with interesting lore, cool fantasy creatures, and famous tropes that are both subverted and some that are played straight.
It's not for everyone though as you can tell! lol

I think all's well. The director has another bl-esque show already that people liked. And there are many other adaptations like these around as well.
Also apparently the author only let them adapt if they kept the pairings as they were

You just want me to change my word and echo what you think is the correct way to think. Well, that's not going to happen. So I think there's no point in continuing this conversation. I don't feel that way at all. I think the later part of the show is weakly written and I don't need to defend my self or yield.

Not really? Not a traditional one. They have some interactions but the third wheel is more of a unicycle.

I think I already explained it in my reply to biri_biri and earlier to you as well, sorry if I don't repeat it. And like I said, I think she's a labor character, a plot device. She's not an actual character with agency or character development. So she's basically a two-dimensional cardboard character who is used by the plot to cause more drama for the mains and creates tension so the story doesn't end faster and more logically. I hate these kinds of characters.
I also just find every single thing about her annoying! I don't get why a supporting character had to get such a huge romantic entanglement with multiple characters. Mu Jin himself was a glorified sidekick, there to hype up Ashile Sun. Why did he have to have such an elaborate romance plot that took up time but added nothing worthwhile to the show?
I think the show shouldn't have extended this character's presence and instead killed her earlier in the grasslands and just shortened the khatun/mimi/sui plotline. There's so much I could criticize in that last leg of the show but I'm trying to restrain myself.

Yes, totally! I see a lot of comments about what a true friend she was to Changge and...no, she wasn't! If she loved Changge ass much as everyone says she does and trusted her, she would have told Changge all about this all the way back when they were in the grasslands the first time. Instead, she just waits until episode 45, "betrays" changge one last time and then they spent half of 48 playing sad music in order to convince the viewers that she was loyal the whole time.
It's just....not my thing. I don't like it. That plan with the reveal of Changge's identity was very silly too. It only worked because the scriptwriters needed it to work.
And I get upset because I think the start of the show was very careful with not having weird incidental luck so to see the last arc go this way, really frustrated me. Mimi is a tool, yes but the point is that it took away from the perfect plot for me.
I now have a total plot in my head for all the ways this could've been avoided.
