Directors say more about an actor's performance than their raw talent so since the director is good (I mean remember cql) they will select good actors. Script is cause for worry but cdramas are good at adapting material anyway and the shows I've seen have had all these elements before. I also like iqiyi lol so I'm not concerned there.

So far, the crew behind it are actually great. They all come from very successful/good productions so as long as they hire good and competent actors instead of just pretty ones, I think this show could be a huge hit actually.

Oh, it's kind of a big deal! I was harshly against the favorite fancasting of Luhan as Xie Lian until I watched this show he's in and now I am sitting on fire hoping he'll get the role. He's JUST right for it and if they decide to have the same actor play Qi Rong, he'll STILL be perfect for the roles!

tbh I think they should've leaned into the comedy because a lot of things don't make sense in the show so they could've made it all seem intentional but they play it serious and it's kind of ridiculous sometimes.
