Directors say more about an actor's performance than their raw talent so since the director is good (I mean remember cql) they will select good actors. Script is cause for worry but cdramas are good at adapting material anyway and the shows I've seen have had all these elements before. I also like iqiyi lol so I'm not concerned there.
So filming will begin in June 2021. I don't have high hopes for this but I just wish it won't be that bad. I also…
So far, the crew behind it are actually great. They all come from very successful/good productions so as long as they hire good and competent actors instead of just pretty ones, I think this show could be a huge hit actually.
(1) idk who Luhan is so I'm probably missing a whole fan thing here; and(2) I don't understand Chinese, so I'm…
Oh, it's kind of a big deal! I was harshly against the favorite fancasting of Luhan as Xie Lian until I watched this show he's in and now I am sitting on fire hoping he'll get the role. He's JUST right for it and if they decide to have the same actor play Qi Rong, he'll STILL be perfect for the roles!
This is such a necessary post! lol! I remember the first time I heard Oppa. It was by a kdrama fan who said it in conversation in my mother tongue and I guessed it had the same meaning as gege maybe. I think "daddy" is probably the correct English equivalent.
tbh I think they should've leaned into the comedy because a lot of things don't make sense in the show so they could've made it all seem intentional but they play it serious and it's kind of ridiculous sometimes.
Is this show mainly focused on just the game like The Kings Avatar or does it have other elements as well?
It also has romantic subplots and themes of family and friendship. It's mostly about chasing your dreams which in their case is playing esports, though.
Don't think Flower Of Evil could be put in any of these categories.
haha! I kept measuring these up against flower of evil as well! I think that's partially in line with this (like the male lead is weirdly competent and powerful) but for the most part it's a bit more complicated as well.
This is such an interesting series. I hope/wish you would follow up these with some examples that go against the norms or subvert expectations, if there are any.
I don't care that they changed Shi Mei into a girl. However, I just have this nagging feeling that Shi Mei is…
It's possible that some characteristics will be changed because of censorship but from what we know (which is not much) the changes are not in that direction. Some people tried to start fake rumors that Shi Mei is the love interest now but they were all fake and unreliable. Don't worry about it. They most probably will downplay Taxian-jun's....whole thing though!
Wow, kudos to you for watching till the end for a genre that you don't like. I always just avoid genres I don't…
Yeah I wouldn't be able to stand it til the end if I don't like the genre as a whole. You should reward yourself by watching something you really love now to make up for it! \ (•◡•) /
