Have you watched Crossfire? Because I haven't watched his other works but I am currently watching crossfire and the acting is actually really good. Really. And I see a lot of comments from people saying he has improved a lot but I don't really have a point of reference to know how he was before, lol! He's doing great on crossfire and is actually very down and gritty. It's better than the average actor I would say. (tentatively- since I haven't watched the whole show yet.)

I think he looks the part but acting skills-wise, he might not be there yet and he is awfully young for the character in my opinion. I don't know, but I personally think someone in early thirties for Xie Lian and someone in their twenties for Hua Cheng would be great. Especially when you consider San Lang.

That is a fair point. Hopefully the directors will choose good actors but it's likely that some less-than-stellar actors will also get chosen for looks or aesthetic.

I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Hard agree! It was obvious that they had a romantic dynamic from the start and if you pay attention the actors did an amazing job portraying the dynamic in a nuanced and subtle way.
I hate when people throw the word incest around so insensitively. That is a real issue and assigning the term to the wrong situation blurs the lines and confuses concepts and can be very harmful.
In this show, though jianjian and lingxiao grew up close together, their dynamic was not like jianjian and he ziqiu who grew in the same house as siblings.
I get if someone doesn't like the pairing and that's chill but it wasn't incest and the show made sure to show that.

I would say it drags around the last 10 episodes. I'm stuttering my way through them now and it's less fun than the beginning.

I think cql's success has slightly tipped the scale now. It seems like a good career choice to be in a "successful" bl adaptation since it will bring major international recognition.
Although, I don't know Luhan so I can't tell if he'll be a good choice for Xie Lian or not.

I'm on episode 21 and it seems like they are going to go the love triangle route? Is that true? It makes no sense for Jianjian and ZiQiu to get involved. That's so weird!

Yeah, I've been considering Song Ji Yang too but I think he's a bit too young to pull off Xie Lian. I would prefer someone in their early thirties for Xie Lian. We should all just wait and see. Speculations lead to nothing in the end! lol

He has one of those faces. We're having a crisis fancasting Xie Lian now because Luo Yunxi can't be Xie Lian now!

It's not about hating the actor. It's just that her acting left a negative impression on me in ashes of love. so I'm definitely not in a hurry to see her replace an actress I actually liked and enjoyed the performance of, in a show I liked.

After Love and redemption, I really want to see more shows with him in them. He did such a good job in that show.
