Hahaha! To be honest, I feel like the creators are not very invested in the romance either. Usually, if a romance is this stilted, this far into a show I wouldn't put up with it but here, I actually like the story sans romance. That's some serious achievement on their part.
I'm still a few episodes behind but I have to admit, I'm turning rather cold towards the romance. There's just not enough chemistry between them. Adding to that, Fang Haishi is being too petty and pushy about it all. It feels rather uncomfortable the way they are mostly fighting over having feelings for each other rather than just having feelings for each other.
