Itβs sad. I was in shock. But did watch it to the end. Itβs whether you like a happy ending or to reflect…
Haha, I don't know about your willpower with SE, but this one is a killer if you're especially attached to the characters. One of them literally broke me down and it became a domino effect. I still have a hard time rewatching those last scenes. The writer literally puts you through pain, sadness, happiness, fear, and back to sadness. I do think it was a ridiculous ending though, but the drama was very good.
I'm at the end of episode 29, and I'm so frustrated with Ning (no I love her really love her but) she's not giving…
FL didn't give the marquis a chance because she knew that although he wasn't the one to ask the other lady to push her off the cliff, he was still part of the reason why she got pushed off the cliff (Marquis got involved with the other lady's family due to power and smuggling tea...in a way seducing them and then using FL as an excuse to kill them when eventually he was going to exterminate them). So, if he had not been involved with those people then they would have never went after FL.
I used to hate PSH as an actress because of how bad her acting has always been (just as her kissing scenes) and…
It's not you, but the actress herself. I've watched most of her dramas, and I do like her as an actress but I don't love her as one. I always knew that she could play these crazy, dark, and wild characters which is why she's showing more charisma in here because you can tell she loves acting as one. Most of her previous characters were always goody goody which I think she has a hard time playing the good girl like she's suppressing herself LOL just my opinion.
Loved how fast paced it was. It might be due to episode restraint with capping it at ep 40, but it felt like the…
Omo I loved the main couple too! I actually really liked it when they were protecting eachother during their early days from getting to know eachother, and ML falling in love for reals.
I just felt sad for Yixiu's arc because I felt like we finally have this beautiful plump second lead, but I couldn't enjoy her loveline. I felt like she was more on friendly terms with the uncle until the other guy came in and I saw sparks LOL.
Loved how fast paced it was. It might be due to episode restraint with capping it at ep 40, but it felt like the first half was more developed than the second half.
It would have been nice if they further developed ML's relationship with his father (the father was such a dooch - he was a punching bag for majority throughout the show and he never redeemed himself), build more oomph on FL's relationship with her father and her family, and create a deeper relationship transition between ML and FL. ML was such a green flag; loved his character!
I thought the 2nd ML looked too old to be playing the obsessive lover, but he was a good actor. He gives me the creep though...I kept shouting at the TV screen everytime he's near FL to get away LOL.
I also really liked Yixiu's character! She was so cute and bubbly, but unfortunately her story direction loss steam for me when she became romantically involved with the uncle. Sighs! What could have been?! I felt like she had so much potentials with the loveline with the Royal Princess' son. They were waaay cuter!
Surprisingly, I stuck around for the ML. Truly, the story picks up at ep 8.
First of all, I'm super surprised that this FL got kissed by all the 3 male leads and they weren't ugly actors so she got lucky as an actress. Plus, her character actually said "I Love You" first.
I saw the trailer before and thought it was too dramatic, but was my type of angst π. Honestly, I didn't want to watch it but clicked play due to needing something to watch while I did my laundry. At first, I thought the ML wasn't as handsome as the SML, but this slowly and unexpectedly changed as I found the former more handsome - it was all due to poor makeup and his bronze (less is more, sometimes I get to see his actual face and he looks good especially when he smiles omgash), and they tried to make him pale since he keeps getting hurt. Also, the ridiculous cliche drama tropes got me wanting to drop the drama, but somehow I preserved and watched it. Let me kid you not, I FF this drama like crazy and you will not miss anything. I believe ep 8 is when it gets a bit better and becomes more serious.
Thankfully, the good points were the ML, the passionate kisses, and the clothes. These points were what made the drama enjoyable to me. 1)ML was a somewhat red flag, but also the greenest flag. He was pretty mean at the beginning, but slowly soften since he loves FL ALOT, I was like damn...the things that he does for her. Yuan Hao, the ML actor became more and more handsome to me when he started to reject the FL since this girl was all over the place. I'm officially a fan of his now so definitely will have to check out his MDL drama list! 2) There were so many passionate kisses that I lost count as to how many there were. Some kisses between leads were awkward while passionate, and others were damn good LOL. 3) What more can I say? It's a republican drama so they're all in beautiful outfits. I like that the FL's Qi Pao outfits weren't too skimpy although at times I did not like her hair.
The bad point is obviously the poor writing. The first opening eps of this drama was sooo bad in comparison to the 2nd half which flowed a bit better, but there's still poor writing throughout like cliche tropes of amnesia, countless misunderstandings, not just one but 2 obsessive and crazy 2ML and 3ML plus the supporting lead girls were cray cray too. There were no other good character growth besides the ML and possibly one of the 2FL; I'd say FL was getting there, but she'd always resort back to a struggling relationship with the ML - It was annoying. But don't worry, the "Most Annoying" character obviously goes to her cousin, Du Mu Ran - this guy was so scheming and OTP ridiculous while the "Most Crazy" character goes to Xiao Li.
But all in all, would I rewatch this? Heck yeah! I'd rewatch it in a heartbeat just for the ML and his lovely scenes with the FL since there's plenty of them.
If you're debating whether to watch this, you still can as it was a nice discovery for the actor Yuan Hao, but you definitely have to close off your mind to enjoy this.
Am I the only one who doesn't think the changes are happening way too fast? I am enjoying the story because, in…
I'm loving this slow burn romance! Makes it more believable. FL was always fascinated by ML's handsomeness, but it was the way how he genuinely helped her and does not restrict her that made her see him in a new light. I don't see that she's fallen for him yet, but she's getting there.
I love Yi Fei too! It's cute when ML screams for him π.
I got confused too because the gang had a live talked about the ending and the actress for Chu Yue said she was…
Yeap, it was weird because my first impression was that she was dead. She's seeing the lead's son in the afterlife and is now joing them, which makes so much more sense why she's the one shown at the end instead of the princess. But...my ending impression got ruined because the actress herself said she's not dead π€·ββοΈ and this makes the ending weird because she was never close to the gang besides Yu Shi San.

BTW, Does anyone have the link to read the novel?
I love Yi Fei too! It's cute when ML screams for him π.
