Another thing, ML knows the boy is not her son because the boy is 7 yrs old while she was only in marriage for…
π€£π I think if the author had wanted to expand her story further then she could have explored more with the king's story.
I thought the king was going to turn evil too, but then it made sense for him to go out like that at the end because he knows he's going to die soon so might as well use this chance to rid the rebels and secure his son's throne by saving the 2 people who can actually take care of his son.
Also, he did love the sister which is why he never married another empress nor touched the FL as he did stated that he ignored her because he thought she was the one who was trying to win his affection. I think it's pretty twisty if he does actually fall for his sister in law though π€’, but because it was google translate I had a feeling he eventually did and chose not to act on it.
I get what you mean, but I think if he was only there to serve for ML and FL's purposes of knowing how they really feel for eachother then he's not really his own character but there as a plot service for the leads. It'd be a different story if he wasn't sick or if he was sick and still turned evil then the story would have to further expand on that or we'd be left with a SE π.

If you scroll down, the links are below for the novel, but you would have to google translate it since there's no real english translation. However, it was still an easy read because of how short the novel and chapters were.

Yes! I like the added details. I like it when the novel can keep the main good stuffs and add a bit more to the story that was lacking. The only thing I noticed kinda changing so far is the 2ML and I hope they won't mess up his storyline. He was good in the book.

π€£π Saaame! It's definitely more intense if you know what they're actually talking about. Reading the novel a few weeks ago helps me remember the scenes and dialogues, plus with my very limited Mandarin. Also, I really really love the dubber for Li Fei if it ain't his real voice.
I am watching this raw. Is the little boy hers or a sibling? Trying to figure out what going on by face expressions…
Another thing, ML knows the boy is not her son because the boy is 7 yrs old while she was only in marriage for 5 years which he teased her about on ep 3 and further bullied her on questioning how she was able to serve a sick emperor.
I am watching this raw. Is the little boy hers or a sibling? Trying to figure out what going on by face expressions…
It's her nephew, her sister's child. She married her brother in law to protect the child because the sister died and there was no one to trust in the imperial harem to raise him. In a way, she was forced to marry because her father suggested the marriage idea so he could stay in power and her brother in law had already passed the marrige edict to have her marry into the royal family, but she willingly agreed because she's really close to her sister. Her sister was like a mother to her since they grew up without a mom. Her household ain't all that great because when her mother passed, her father favored the concubine's son and she'll often argue with her father causing her to run away from home which is how she met ML.
New Trailer! π Please give me a HE π€£ Ohhh! I spy FL's confession π€. I'm super glad that they kept her confession because our ML needs to hear it. https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4996911658698150
Confused on why some of theses released out of order? Why do season 3 before 2 kinda confusing.
Because during that time CP2 and CP4 had weaker storyline to develop so those were skipped. Plus, now different production takes over so even if they make it, it still wouldn't be released in chronological order.
I have the same question, where to start? Should I watch in order? CP 2 isn't released yet, CP 3 took places before…
Yes, I would advise you to watch it in order. CP 1, 3, and 5 connect with eachother. I heard from the other commenters who played the game stated that CP6 had a bit of connection with CP5 because of the second couple from CP5 who were my favorite couple getting their happy ending in CP6 although Idk how CP6 is since I haven't seen it. CP2 is not released but it features the leads in CP1's daughter so a direct sequel to CP1 and CP5 is a direct sequel to CP2.
