The story revolves around Yuwen Yuan, voiced by Li Fei, and Su Yan, portrayed by Ming Jia Jia. As the Emperorβs…
So it was voiced by him? Damn, and I love his voice too! I kept thinking if he dubbed himself because he sounds different IRL but the dubbing word for word goes with his mouth so well. Same with FL. Did she dub herself too?
I'm waiting so I can watch ep 11, 12, 13, & 14 all together.
Omgee, I literally can't wait too! But, I usually watch the teasers to get a gist of what the future eps will be about so if it's good then I sort of have to put a hold on myself because ep 14 looks good π. And, it's a struggle because we're only getting one ep per day now which is why I'm also holding myself back.
Another thing, ML knows the boy is not her son because the boy is 7 yrs old while she was only in marriage for…
Definitely! He is better now and more natural. πI have a soft spot for Jing Yuan since it was my first exposure to Li Fei as an actor. The dying scene had me too π₯² I want mooore of their backstory! π₯°ππ€ Oof, he has such a good chemistry with the kid, it's so adorable!

I think it's that plus his previous roles were kind of limited. In here, he has to be restrained yet fierce and expressively has to show what he actually really feels. I'm loving all the softness of him coming from ep 8, 9, & 10. The only other character from him that I really really liked was his character from Seal of Love where he was flirty, cute, and scheming as a demon and then a broken killer as a mortal.

He's really good in here with his expressions like he knows his attractive traits and how to look good with his smirk and deadly attractive stare plus even his manly sitting ho-ho π. I agree, he should keep this dubber! I'm glad that he's able to play a character like Yu Wen Yuan π. Forgot to mention that I actually really liked Chu Li too π. He was the only other person that cared about ML.

Agree! I'm loving that they're keeping the main stuffs that I like. Why deviate so much from the resource when it's already good? I do love that the drama is also adding more in depth backstory between the 2 leads so we at least get to see why they were so in love with eachother. Richard is on π₯π« in here plus with his yummy dubber, and I think it also helps that natural chemistry with the FL since they've previously worked with eachother.

π€£π I think if the author had wanted to expand her story further then she could have explored more with the king's story.
I thought the king was going to turn evil too, but then it made sense for him to go out like that at the end because he knows he's going to die soon so might as well use this chance to rid the rebels and secure his son's throne by saving the 2 people who can actually take care of his son.
Also, he did love the sister which is why he never married another empress nor touched the FL as he did stated that he ignored her because he thought she was the one who was trying to win his affection. I think it's pretty twisty if he does actually fall for his sister in law though π€’, but because it was google translate I had a feeling he eventually did and chose not to act on it.
I get what you mean, but I think if he was only there to serve for ML and FL's purposes of knowing how they really feel for eachother then he's not really his own character but there as a plot service for the leads. It'd be a different story if he wasn't sick or if he was sick and still turned evil then the story would have to further expand on that or we'd be left with a SE π.

If you scroll down, the links are below for the novel, but you would have to google translate it since there's no real english translation. However, it was still an easy read because of how short the novel and chapters were.

Yes! I like the added details. I like it when the novel can keep the main good stuffs and add a bit more to the story that was lacking. The only thing I noticed kinda changing so far is the 2ML and I hope they won't mess up his storyline. He was good in the book.

π€£π Saaame! It's definitely more intense if you know what they're actually talking about. Reading the novel a few weeks ago helps me remember the scenes and dialogues, plus with my very limited Mandarin. Also, I really really love the dubber for Li Fei if it ain't his real voice.
