I thought the historical aspect was the best part; everything else was more of a trying to find the golden egg among many Easter eggs beside Lee Joon's character moving the plot forward lol.

Interesting theory. I kept thinking that the other bulgasal was definitely Hwal, but it could very well be Siho too since she has the power to read into the past and it looks like her own conscious is stopping her from reading too much into the past.

He should do another drama with Zhang Tian Ai. He had the best natural kiss scenes with her.

There's an alternate ending which was so much better.

I definitely enjoyed the first half of this show more than the second half. I was struggling so hard to finish the second half and have even put it off a couple of times. At the beginning, I always found myself cracking up on each episode by the hilarious antics of FL and Yan Yan's expressions; even the ML's character was funny because he can be petty also. I definitely miss the bickering moments between the two leads in the first half. The story, however, fell flat after the leads got together. First, I was put off by how FL realized her feelings for the ML which was a disgraced to her character. No doubt I would have fallen for the ML too because he's smart, calm, mature, and straightfoward, but I would not fall in the way FL did if I was FL. I understood that the ML already liked the FL when he first saw her and later came to that realization, but it felt flat from FL. FL always had a naive outlook towards love and is oblivious to ML's feelings; she sort of has a negative outlook of ML's character so I was hoping for a stronger realization where either ML got hurt for protecting her or ML fighting to prove his feelings for her. Second, I got put off by FL's dad; he's always prasing that he'll let FL choose whoever she loves, but once FL chose ML, he did a 360. I understand the dad cares for her, but he pratically forgot who almost got his daughter killed. Plus, a big loop hole in the story was how in the world did the dad not know ML, he was pratically the best friend of your dead son. Another thing that I disliked was how weak the writer made FL to be in martial arts; wished she was stronger especially after getting trained by the ML. At the end, she couldn't even defeat SML, UNBELIEVABLE. I hated the SML's arc which tookover the second half of the show, it was boring and I FF alot. No doubt the actor did a good job portraying the character, but OMGee his character was written so annoyingly; he was pretty much a psycho. He was obsessed and only loved himself. Why? Because this a-ho* did not know gratitude or sincerity. It was always about him and his own self happiness; he cared for no one. To me he was not redeemable at all and they had to make him die so stupidly too. I'd rather the ML plunged that sword into SML instead of SML killing himself because he was not one to kill himself after all he did. Lastly, the writer made the ML super smart, but got lazy at how to execute his smartness. I love that the ML and FL had a healthy and open relationship where they tell each other almost everything and understood each other, but they were repetively using the same tatics to defeat the SML that it was not a surprise anymore LOL.

Facts

Lol! Hwal's character was written poorly. What I understood was that he does not interact with others because they were afraid of him. There's a lot of loop holes within the storyline and his character. It's like he cares but then he seems to push people away; an annoying trait I'd say. His mind was only on revenge, but then he always fail to find Bulgasal. I'm surprised he didn't learn anything new after all that failure. Hwal seems to be rich too, but he's more of a lone rider. He should have spent his money on someone who knew how to infiltrate the computer system to track Sang Un instead of that one private investigator.

True. As of now, I just want him to be reborn and live out a new life without his past memories. Idk if he wants to be reborn or not. My feelings for his character will depend on how the writer writes off his character. Will he be reedemable or not?...

LOL, so true! Honestly, they didn't need to show the stab or Sang Un and Hwal's reaction. You just need to show Do Yoon's line to have people guessing on the next ep to see who got to him first and then be shock by the fact he was stabbed. I feel like ep 10 dragged, they were going around in circles just to have the climax happen at the very end.

Lee joon is doing great as Eul Tae. I can feel his loneliness, pain, and sincerity like he's torn. If only his dad had given him a chance and loved him, but then we wouldn't even have a bulgasal story lol.

Now that you've said it I think I can tell that William's voice is his, but then Xu Kaicheng's voice from the drama sounds so different from his usual voice that I know.

I love fantasy, but I can understand why they don't want her to play fantasy because the stories or the characters are pretty repetive. However, I will take traditional over modern dramas anytime! Plus, this is tong hua so she's pretty originality with her work.

It is sad, but true in most cases. Many killers are born because they have had a bad childhood experience, lack love, or were abused. Eul Tae did kill and I'm not excusing him of his crimes because I would be fearful if I were in his victim's case, but I can see how his father was the initiator (the cause) of the hate that was growing inside of him; and he took that hate out on his younger brother. And, most killers always go after someone similar to who they hate or someone that reminds them of their wicked past. Since Eul Tae cannot go after his father, he goes after someone weaker to feel strong or empowered.

That was a really good episode! To think that the chain of hate started from the detective, who was such a loving father 600 years ago. I did not see it coming that Sang Un was the original bulgasal all along. Poor Doyoon! I teared up for him when he was begging his father once again, not to leave him and when Hwal finally realizes who Doyoon is. Right from when Hwal met Siho in ep 4, you already know that he can only move on with life and forgive himself was when he gets Siho's and Doyoon's forgiveness.

I didn't realize they dubbed their own voices. I knew yang mi's voice right away but not the others.

You can tell who was obviously my favorite character 🤣
