I'm re-watching this drama for the 3rd time and I feel that we don't talk enough about how healthy the relationship between Rong Le and Wu You is. Putting aside the misunderstanding in the beginning, once they do get together they stay together. They don't let anyone/anything pull them apart. They both respect, listen to and trust one and other. I know people complain about the chemistry- I felt the same after I first watched the show, but I think this couple doesn't need to be making out all the time for us to understand the deep love they have. They are both truly good people and so I love being able to root for them! I just finished a drama that tried to portray an abusive/toxic relationship as romantic, so that could be why I'm more appreciative towards the healthy relationship portrayed here.
I've seen a lot of people asking if this show has a happy or sad ending, so I'll clarify how I interpret it down…
I would say it is bittersweet. Bitter because the leads don't end up together, but sweet because Manwol is able to let go of her hatred and move on to the afterlife.
Also Daddi Tang completely caught me off guard with this trailer. He seemed to have improved his acting since PYHOMS where I found him to be quite stiff. He looks way more mature and handsome here!
OMG I wasn't planning on watching this drama because I wasn't really feeling the main couple, but that trailer completely changed my mind! Looking forward to this!
Started the first few episodes- ok so far but does Fair Xing smile seem kinda fake. idk I could be nitpicking but she doesn't seem as charming as she was in "Put Your Head on my Shoulders"
