Is this reverse harem, or is there a decided couple?

Currently watching this, and wow--this is nothing like what I expected! Granted, I'm only on the first episode, but I expected it to be some high school romance, like True Beauty or whatever. It's so much more though.
I still can't say if such a high rating is deserved yet, but no doubt this is going to be a very good watch!

P.S. The acting is outstanding, and the child actors are naturals!

what a coincidence! I was thinking about giving this another try just a few days ago! i think i'll be giving it a shot soon--hopefully I'll get more into it this time

Yes well, to clarify what I said, I just mean that for viewers that don't want to end the drama with a sour taste in their mouth, I advise to ignore the last episode--as it also does not really provide anything more to the overall storyline, other than an end and death to all that had been constructed in the episodes prior.

Believe me you guys, it's super worth it. 'Struggle' through the episodes and you'll see what I mean! ;)

Absolutely yes! Actually, I recommend that you watch this after Love Between Fairy and Devil! they are both amazing dramas with a lovely cast and love story.

Hi! I'm finishing up Story of Yanxi Palace, and I'm wondering if this compares to it in any way? Would you recommend Empress Ki? I'm just scared that after such an amazing drama I might judge Empress Ki badly or might not like it as much.

have you tried the Story of Yanxi Palace or the Story of Ming Lan? you might want to check those out if you haven't already!

I was also watching this on YouTube, and I have to agree! I normally don't mind spoilers, but it was so annoying hearing people talking about future events in the series, and not actually replying to the specific episode they were commenting under.

I'm debating whether to watch the Story of Yanxi Palace (2018) first or this one. They both have the same rating and both seem super interesting. Any recommendations or thoughts?

I mean they probably shave it 😂 Most guys wear their hair short anyway, so I don't feel like it would be too drastic of a difference for the actors tbh lol

I have absolutely nothing against the actor playing Mo Lian Cheng (he's okay), but man, I wish the ML were Liu Shang 😂
