haha, this is usual sickness in dramaland. People can't tell woman crossdressing in male attire. or they didn't recognise each other just because they wore a half mask / veil on their face. they want audiences to stop their brain for a moment while watching the shows. lol
but lately I was amazed by Love Song of Illusions. FL and ML easily recognized each other eventhough they wore half-face masks. great!

Storywise, 'restart/reset love' troupe is already overused in romcom. The plot is mediocre, as we can predict the premise. It's really nothing much I could get from the movie. Quite forgettable. So, I think they worked hard on the script/screenplay and the direction instead. The post-production must be a hell. It's a movie anyway. People pay quite a money to watch a one-time show.
At the end of the day, the movie served its purpose as a (high-quality) romcom movie. I barely skipped any scenes of the movie because they made the audience couldn't breathe while watching fast-paced reels.

This is a light-hearted drama, so far. I like the prime couple and the 2nd couple too. FL is the most clueless lawyer I have ever seen in dramaland. I know the plot will get intense in the coming episodes.
looking back at the drama, why do I feel that this drama was shot in 2021?

It was a hit in Korean theatres. Definitely not a flop.

this drama is an adaptation of a novel. sadly it is only available in Japan language. I hope it will be available in my native language, lol. The novel should be hilarious too. I've read some Japanese novels. They were fun to read. But I found it average (cringe) when they made it onto the screen. Like a failed Live Action of an anime.

I burst into laughter every time Suzuki and Yaguchi face unexpected situations due to Suzuki's ingenuity. Yes, they do need money desperately, so they build their sect. LOL. But so far Suzuki still retains his strong sense of justice as a former public servant.
I watched many Japan dramas/movies that involved a cult or a sect., they were tense and turned bad. Only Kaso Girei offers another side of the story. I wish they had published the novel internationally.

I'm pretty sure they will air this after they lift the ban on her SNS account. It's not like she offends the govt. with tax evasion.

I have watched many C-dramas where the FL was portrayed as naughty, hyperactive, etc. But the FL's naughtiness in this drama is on another level. Surely enough the ML is not a genius one and never thinks to outsmart FL because he is kinda easygoing. He does things like average people. But the FL repeatedly does mischief on ML without remorse. Luckily the ML often turn the table by luck and wise to save the grace.

I won't call them an age gap trope, since both of them are true adults. AEJ is already in her thirties.
You haven't seen the worst yet, in Thai drama, where FL in her teenage age has an opposite ML that can be as good as her uncle due to the big age gap.

are you watching this or not? lol. it's a bit complicated though. The ancient woman (a young woman with long hair) was a part of Krittaya's family a hundred years ago. She put the curse on the family that caused her mother's death and her miserable ends. Apparently, the patriarch of the family raped her mother who is his biological daughter. I suspect that the young woman was born as a result of sexual assault. Push forward, the patriarch even sexually assaulted his granddaughter (which must be his bio. daughter too!). Due to that incident, her enraged mother was murdered by the patriarch and he slandered the young woman as a killer and a black witch. eventually the young woman was killed in horrible ways. So her spirits became restless and haunted everyone in the household and village. To suppress the spirit, the family called the Brahmin. The Brahmin successfully defeated the spirit. But things are not as simple as they seem.

That young woman was born with an unknown disease that deformed her body and made her unable to move freely. She has been on the bed all day long. That's why she and her mother plus her brother were ostracised by the big family and the villagers.
Unable to see her daughter suffer any longer, her mother seeks help from the village doctor. Not particularly a doctor but, a kinda woman who usually helps women in labour. That woman gave some drugs/potions to the mother. Said, it came from the shaman, a powerful unknown shaman who was suspected of studying black magic. It can be a deadly poison or magically become a medicine that cures. It is possible that the drugs have another unthinkable effect.
Luckily, when the young woman ate the drugs, she was cured of the illness. And she suddenly possesses a supernatural gift. She can manipulate things and harm them whenever she feels threatened.

So, the young woman uses her gift to curse Krittaya family.

I don't understand Thai language so I don't know if the Brahmin is on the script originally or if the translator/subtitler deliberately uses the term Brahmin. Thai is not fond of Hinduism. It's strange to use term Brahmin.

For the past years, I noticed there are countless lgbtq* dorama whether they subtly or boldly contents. How come Japanese TV turned their direction of agenda?
Japanese dorama used to glorify the traditional form of family in the middle of a declining birth rate. They need to somehow manage younger generations to think of marriage and no to give up raising kids.

*I know they are yaoi and yuri contents, but they have been long in different levels and dimensions
