There are some changes between the original and remake. One think I notice is, the remake states clearly that FL has been trying hard to convince ML that she is not the person whose ML are looking for. But ML is quite stubborn to believe. In the original, FL has no effort to convince ML. Every time he confronts her, FL keeps silent and blames his actions instead. (you have thousands of chances, to tell the truth tho'!)

Is that real? Looks like SEA people are keen on dark magic to make them beautiful. I only found special 'tools/ needles' inserted into certain performer's bodies to make them more attractive. That special tools are kinda evil though, they're like a shell of spirits. To a certain degree, it makes the user live uncomfortably. Even on the verge of death, they won't make peace. I mean, to die peacefully, the users should get rid of those special tools from their bodies once and for all.
