not really really villain.. there is another real villain which is the teacher of the ml which he doesn't really remember much who turns very obsessed about something.. the stone guy is supposed to be the "villain in the shifu/disciple lifetime though but he is kinda good atleast at the arc 5-7

i summarized this on my comment before but here it is fron what I understand and also comparing it with the novel lifetimes

so basically in the drama if we're going for the right order of happenings
1st - 30000 years ago forgotten history (which will probably inserted later as 7.5 while fighting the evil) (new lifetime created for the drama ver. not found in the novel)
2nd - god of war and fairy on the marriage pavillion, their real form, current real lifetime
3rd - accidental animal lifetime, tiger and boar (first tribulation)
4th - childhood lovers, fl has memories of being a fairy (2nd tribulation)
5th - master and disciple, ml has the memories of being a god (3rd tribulation)
6th - princess and general, they switch body (4th tribulation)
7th - chukong and xiangyun, trying to stop the evil things happening on the mortal world (don't know if they will continue with the tribulation since in the novel this was their mission to stop the punishment of seven lifetimes)
8th - fl went to mortal world to resurrect the ml by gathering his souls

if we compare it to the novel its this sequence
1st - celestial star/god and cloud fairy on the marriage pavillion, their real form current lifetime
2nd - childhood lovers, fl has memories of being a fairy (this is the first lifetime punishment btw)
3rd - master and disciple, ml has the memories of being a god (2nd lifetime punishment)
4th - animal, tiger and boar, where they should first discover there is an evil happening in the mortal world (3rd lifetime punishment)
5th - princess and general, they switch body (4th lifetime punishment)
6th - chukong and xiangyun real form, trying to stop the evil things happening on the mortal world (mission to finally stop their seven life punishment)
7th - fl went to mortal world to resurrect the ml by gathering his souls..

wait what lifetime is this? I think I haven't chance upon that on the novel.. 😅 any other recent novel reader here? can anyone say if this is true cause I remember his is the timeline of the novel lifetimes

1st lifetime would be very very short cause its accidentally in the drama.. the tiger and boar is their first lifetime in the drama.. ep 8 is still under the 2nd lifetime.. 😚

yup that would probably be the lost memories of chukong.. 😅 a newly added lifetime which is not from the novel.. as the other lifetimes not yet shown is similarly depicted to the lifetimes in the novel except for minor changes

oh oh.. you should probably not read the novel.. hehe.. as an advice from a novel reader like me.. the drama and the novel are very very different as of now.. except for the characters going through seven lifetimes, that's it.. you'll probably just be disappointed if you would love the novel ver. more... for me I decided to treat the drama as another story not really that connected to the novel to fully enjoy it..

honestly novel readers won't really know how the drama will go.. haha.. the drama deviated so much away from the novel that it feels like there's too many villain or potential villain in the story unlike in the novel where there is just really one villain.. 😅

sooo I forgot to mention on my review comment below that they also added the stone (demon) early on the drama, he's on the 2nd tribulation itself.. (1st one is the animal lifetime) so I'm curious how the 3rd tribulation, the master and disciple lifetime would end since from what I remember in the novel, the stone demon is the cause of death of the ml on that lifetime but in the drama they change the purpose of the stone demon so I wonder what will happen to the 3rd tribulation in the drama.. hmmm 🤔

its okay for me I think.. but I did read the novel cause I heard the ml is going to play the role though so it might be different for other novel readers who fell in love with it without being a fan of either of the main lead actor/actress... so I have no problem with the changes as I'm now treating it as another story not connected to the novel itself (cause they deviated so much from it) the only change I really really don't like (been mentioning this a lot) is the added unnecessary sfl and sml, they gave us love rectangle for the drama which is not even in the novel itself.. they added things to complicate it more, lol but yup so far the drama has atleast 8 lifetimes since they added a back story forgotten memory for the main leads (if we count this one separately) which doesn't exist in the novel..

canghai is a girl though I think they already show her as canghai in episode 2 😊 but we still don't know how they are connected since according to the drama xiangyun was turn into a fairy 3000 year ago I think but the forgotten memory of chukong happened 30000 years ago. this lifetime would probably came out full near the end of the drama.

I'm treating this as another story instead of connecting it to the novel, they deviated so much from the novel actually, they added another lifetime in the drama too, which is the forgotten memory which makes it more complicated than the novel.. so far its good except for the added unnecessary sml and sfl 😅

aw, that's too bad.. I think you can just not really watch it, honestly they really deviated a lot from the novel.. well its different from me I guess since I'm a fan of the ml and the reason I read the novel is because he's the one acting as the ml for it.. but give it a chance if you still can.. I'm really hoping they don't drag the sfl/sml story plotline though.. this is what frustrate me the most..

no, there was nothing like that on the novel.. 😅 she's just really a cloud fairy that works on the marriage pavillion on the novel which got into fight with chukong and they messed up the marriage threads so they we're punish to do seven lifetimes together, then they encounter evil things on while doing their punishment so they had to stop that. that's just it no other complicated things added.

I love the changes so far even the new lifetime they made except for one, the unnecessary love rectangle or triangle in the later episodes.. seriously we're still going for the classic love rectangle/triangle? the story is complicated enough to have this unnecessary things to add (there is no sml and sfl in the novel btw the story just focuses on the main leads itself... so I can see a lot of novel readers are gonna be disappointed by this) and if we're counting the lifetimes its 8 for the drama version I think if we're counting the forgotten history separately, gosh the heartbreak we're gonna experience is a lot more 😓

so an advice for novel readers like me just treat it as another story to fully enjoy the drama itself.. I know its kinda disappointing as they change a lot specially inserting sfl and sml but so far its still good enough though just try to ignore the sml and sfl and its still amazing..

treat is as another story, maybe you will learn to enjoy it more.. I'm treating it like that and so far I'm loving it except for the freaking love rectangle, I'm really hoping they don't drag this love rectangle or triangle in all lifetimes seriously stop with the classic love rectangle/triangle this drama doesn't even need it to be honest, like I said its complicated enough..

I'm basically treating this as another drama not connecting it on the novel lol
