lol people on the comments would be more frustrated if they ever read the original novel.. cause the entire story would be just her lying to ML and then them lying to each other.. basically the entire novel is really about lying.. ๐Ÿ˜ anyways I love this drama and its still a 10/10 even though I hated how Situ Ling's screentime too much.. (the never ending obsession of scriptwriters to insert the unnecessary obsessed 2nd ML trope, we had it for legend of the female general as well) I still love how they ended this drama and that is a very rare thing to see in a fantasy cdrama so a 10.

Its kinda funny how a lot are still in denial about TLC & AS love line.. ๐Ÿคฃ if its really not that important and irrelevant they wouldn't have promoted the "CP" more during their promo events.. they kept using the CP stuff and yet you guys are angry when a lot of the viewers got angry with the ending. even if this is a male centric drama you guys should still accept the fact that mangotv was selling that CP so bad hence a lot got more obsessed with that specially on how they are portrayed in the drama.. even the scene with the fake princess watching them from the bridge in ep 29 implied it too much. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

honestly yes.. the novel JBZ is a much more jerk.. in the drama adaptation they made him more passionate and emotional.. ๐Ÿ˜‚ but yup the drama is very much so different from the novel.. I am kinda scared though.. I feel like this adaptation will also used an unnecessary obsessed 2nd ML plot trope too... ๐Ÿ˜…

the novel and drama are very different to each other so its kinda hard to explain when he discovered it.. but it was not dramatical/emotional if I remember it right but in the drama I feel like they will make it more emotional.. I honestly don't recognized a lot from the drama adaptation so I am treating it as an entirely new story, hehe

I'm not sure where people got this from but it's not been revealed in the drama so far.
that was kinda plot in the novel that's why except MY was not her master's daughter but another one from her city. a kinda trusted advisor/clan member of her "mother" and MY was not abandoned cause of her spiritual veins in the novel unlike what was said above.. in the novel the empress/consort searched a baby with an spiritual veins and it happens that one of her clan mate birthed one so she ask them to just give the baby to her then proceeded to eliminate them i think to not be discovered.

they really change it actually cause the antidote that ji bozai has is I think a physical thing and not cultivated? he put it in her favorite scallion pancake without her knowing in the novel.

quote from the novel

"Originally, knowing was just knowing. Si Hou was skillful and wouldn't have given her a chance to verify my gender. But unfortunately, I'm not Si Hou's biological child and was born with red veins. She was too eager to control me, so from the age of ten, she started feeding me 'Li Hen Tian' and gave me the antidote monthly to hold my life in her hands."

she is still an outsider, still not her own child, her mother didn' t want her to have own control on her life so she secretly poisoned her.. secretly giving her antidote every month I think but during the tournament the place where the antidote is stored caught fire so she wasn't able to take the antidote hence the poison spreads fast, in the novel she was not really treated properly by her "mother" but in the drama it was kinda implied that Mingyi really cares about her mother.. I think in the novel too she already has suspicions about who really poisoned her but in the drama I think they will make it more dramatic and for Mingyi to be more broken hearted to learn her own mother poison her if they follow that plot..

there was some birth secret happening in the novel, she was not a child of her "mother" but a child of someone else, basically her "mother" gave birth to child but it has no spiritual veins and she didn't like that as she won't gain favor of the emperor on their city so she tasked someone to kill the baby she birthed and find another baby who has spiritual veins which is Mingyi.. but another plot twist is the real child of her "mother" didn't die and is still alive ๐Ÿคญ

First of all, This is different from novel, in novel Situ Ling doesn't have this much importance to the actual…
i mean it is a trend in cdrama adaptations nowadays overusing a 2nd ML plot they did that to everything i watched this year.. ๐Ÿ˜… LOTFG, MR, SL, OG.. I don't know why scriptwriters keeps on doing this to novel adaptations that already has enough conflicts/dramas to tackle with.. (coming in here with real disappointment on the 2nd half of LOTFG cause they did such a great job at the start and then that unnecessary 2nd ML plot happens ๐Ÿคฎ)

if I remember it right, in the novel they didn't even get to fight each other cause Mingxian/Mingyi was "poisoned"…
I was actually skeptical when that scene happen cause I had read the novel and I was asking myself when did they ever battle each other on the tournament.. ๐Ÿ˜‚ the whole point of him not discovering her as Mingxian when she was beside him is because he never fought her in the first place but they actually completely change it to her having a spell of looking like a man to everyone.. I'm just treating this as another story and not gonna associate it to the novel more.. ๐Ÿ˜… for now even novel readers don't know if she will get revenge to him or not as it completely deviates from the novel.. but in the novel she didn't they formed a team with others from his city and conquered the tournament.. not them fighting each other again.

This part on ch 19 of the novel

This year, Ji Bozai defeated Zheng Tiao with overwhelming dominance, causing a stir across the six cities and heightening anticipation for his match against the Ming family heir. However, just three days before the competition, Chaoyang City suddenly announced their withdrawal, and the Ming family heir disappeared without a trace. Rumors spread, some claiming he was harmed, others suggesting Chaoyang City withdrew to avoid losing to Ji Bozai.
Despite the speculation, the Ming family heir never reappeared, as if he had vanished into thin air, and the Ming family never mentioned him again. Although Ji Bozai was thus considered the uncrowned king of this year's Six Cities Tournament, Yan Xiao believed he must have felt regret for not facing such a formidable opponent. Later, some noble disciples from Muxing City replaced him in the competition.

wait can someone who read the noveltell me if she will become stronger and beat him eventually? like what is this…
if I remember it right, in the novel they didn't even get to fight each other cause Mingxian/Mingyi was "poisoned" (there is a deeper secret about this though) before the final battle and she disappeared immediately, their city withdrawing from the tournament... this drama is literally completely different from novel i think.. they just took the names and stuff from the novel and some aspects but plotline is entirely new. its like.. are you familiar with love you seven times drama? its like that they completely change the plotline of the drama from the novel itself.
