Thank you for the encouraging words and yes, I agree we should have faith in TBW production team. If CGI needs…
Thank you for correcting my misconception. I thought TBW is mostly xianxia which I have to confess I was never a fan of. In the past few years, the drama market has been saturated with xianxia dramas. I like Eternal Love (that’s how I discovered Dilraba 😊) but even that one, it does focus on endless celestial beings with their love and life trials. These types of dramas seem to be heavy on the romance and love triangles (which is my pet peeve) so I do avoid them if I can. From you, I’m happy to learn that TBW has other fantasy elements and wuxia so it’ll be more refreshing. I have not seen a mermaid/merman love story either so that alone should be a new viewing experience for me. I trust your opinion and really looking forward to reading the novel!
To everyone ..I provided all the legitimate websites and also shared the same websites as the Fairydust did. So…
Also one more thing, your behavior here is not stellar either as you had accused other Reba fans of doing. To lump all Reba fans together as though everyone was rude to you by not reading every single one of your posts and making the ridiculous comment that now you understand why Reba has anti-fans. I can also make the same parallel statement that your behavior is why Lusi has antis too but I won't and don't believe that. One fan's action is not reflective of an entire fandom and it's ridiculous that anyone would make that comparison. That's it and goodbye. No need to respond to me.

The following is a repost of what I posted to you below. Since you're so inclined to call out Reba fans, these are my thoughts :
I did scroll through your links which did confirm Lusi won the award from fans’ voting. When I visited this page and posted my message, I never dispute that fact. I thanked Fairydustpuppy for her first link which list each category and CONFIRMED for me (and perhaps others) which award categories were nominated and selected by judges and which were by fan voting (an award won by Lusi). That is the link I’m most curious about and found helpful. She also provided a link of the individuals who were nominated for the top awards which I thought was interesting. I just scrolled through the links you provided the last few days and you did not provide those specific links. If you did provide the exact links as Fairydustpuppy had listed in this original thread, then I must have missed them as there were many back and forth messages and warnings of possible computer infections if we were to open it. Also, other visitors and I are not obligated to scroll through days of messages to confirm something when it was readily available by a more recent post by Fairydustpuppy. So, you can confirm for yourself before accusing me or others of discrimination.
In your threads, you consistently linked that one page of winners, specifying in your message that Lusi won by scrolling to the bottom of the page. I felt bad that you were frustrated by repeating yourself but you were also sarcastic with your comments to others with repeated references to those to use their brains (as if people were stupid) when others were cross checking the award with other publications and that it was a STAR award (not an acting award), In the US, awards from acting award ceremonies are typically nominated and honestly, this is a first time I know of that an award that was won by fan voting (nothing wrong with that but not a tradition in my country). For those abroad from countries like me, I can understand why there was confusion when they heard Lusi won (with no nomination) and a lot of the people expressed that confusion in their messages.
I’m not sure what you meant by “ogs” in your message (is it an abbreviation for something or a typo?) but I did congratulate Lusi on her win. Perhaps you should follow your own advice and scroll one thread down and read that message. I believe that any win will bring positive attention to TLB drama. I also saw others extending their congratulations to Lusi but I cannot help that you did not receive the effusive response that you were expecting from others in this TLB page.
I can also pose the same question to Lusi fans. If Reba had won the Best Actress award, how many Lusi fans would come by and extend their congratulations? I would not expect Lusi fans to do so, so why expect this of Reba fans? Those who want to congratulate would do so without prompting from others.
Thanks Fairydustpuppy! These links should clear up the confusion. So cool that three Chinese dramas were nominated…

To be honest, I find her tails ugly. With black, it might look even uglier because it's hard to use shade for…
I guess there is truth that success does spur jealousy and incite enemies but it seems more extreme in China, don’t you think? The fans’ mentality is overboard where they would spend hours arguing with other fan groups, conduct massive coordination to grade down dramas due to hating an actor/actress or spend so much time deconstructing every little flaw of an artistic work. I have to say that I’m not used to that mindset (from US) but I do applaud Chinese actors and actresses who find ways to cope and not allow these haters to get to them.
Back to TBW, I’ve seen enough adaptations to know that a drama does not follow the novel to a tee and changes will be made whether it’s due to budgetary reasons or available resources. The worst thing to do to an adaptation is to change the plot so completely that it ruins the original story to where it’s unwatchable. So as long as the writing team and the acting and directing capture the heart of the story, I can make concessions on areas that I deem are less important. It’s been great chatting with you and let’s all hope the best for this drama. 😊
To be honest, I find her tails ugly. With black, it might look even uglier because it's hard to use shade for…
Sorry, I did not mean to go off on a rant. To clarify, the “hater” comment is about the Chinese entertainment culture and how vicious the extreme fandom can be. I get that Reba and Allen are popular artists and they have to balance the good with the bad but some of these haters are too much. Constructive criticisms are welcome but the malice some haters have shown is simply unacceptable. I feel bad for Allen after the TBW trailer has been released and I’m not even a fan of his and have never seen his work. I do hope the TBW team can make the improvements needed and release a good quality, well received drama to quiet these dissenters.
BTW, I want to catch Reba as Gao Wen in Diamond Lover but cannot find the English subbed episodes. Where were you able to watch this drama? I also agree that Reba loves acting and tries her best in all her roles. I cannot say I like all her characters but I do see that her hard work and diligence have paid off. I feel she has made leaping improvements since Eternal Love (my first drama of hers) and she just keeps getting better and better since TLB. I want her to continue this track in wanting to be challenged, playing different roles and not settling in being “comfortable”. As her fan, I’m very excited to see her future developments!
From now until LOA is aired, there will be many changes that may push up or delay the air date. As the supporters,…
Thanks for the you tube link. I am interested in the costume meaning but will definitely check it out after I completed WOH to avoid spoilers. I am a binge watcher so I will have to time it where I can watch all the episodes. Hopefully that will happen soon because I am curious after episode one. I meant to ask about episode 37 of WOH. Was that a last minute additional episode? Did the end of episode 36 have an open ending? I’ve been watching WOH on Viki and I think it’s also available on Netflix so I hope one of these streaming sites carries episode 37.
The Long Ballad is a good choice to be exposed to Reba’s acting. I became her fan after watching this drama because I just love her character and Reba surpassed my expectations with her acting. I hope I don’t raise expectations for you where you might be disappointed but watch a few episodes to see if this drama grabs you. It might not be your cup of tea and that’s perfectly alright too. I also like her in You Are My Glory (modern drama) but it’s simple love story, slice of life drama. Reba and Yang Yang portrayed their characters well and their interactions in the drama are sweet, playful, teasing and sexy. I can’t help smiling when I watch them.
Reba’s costumes in LOA are bright and colorful and I love the different color combinations. Her hairstyles are good too though I do not like her updo so much. From the images I have seen Gong Jun typically wears white or a light shade (cream/light gray) and he looks very handsome. White also stands for pure and righteous so it might be inline with his character’s personality too?! I also read that Reba will be sporting a white wig; I saw a blurry image of the back of her head but wonder how she would look with a frontal view. Just so many aspects of the drama to anticipate! 😀
To be honest, I find her tails ugly. With black, it might look even uglier because it's hard to use shade for…
Prepare for haters? Haters have been hating on Dilraba for as long as I can remember. Some criticized her for not looking Chinese (Han Chinese). She is labeled as a pretty vase without acting skills. In the Long Ballad alone, she faced numerous hateful comments like she’s too fat, she’s too old for her male pairing (Leo Wu), her lipstick is too red, she looks ugly with two strands of hair in front (even though it was a trademark of her character in the manhua). In YAMG, she’s been described as too old and not aging well, it’s annoying how she’s trying to be cute, she’s just playing herself and is not acting, etc. And apparently now she’s described as anorexic? She did lose weight and looks thinner but no way is she anorexic. She is the consummate professional and will try her best to physically look the part of her character and adhered to the director’s request. She gained a few pounds for TLB and then lost weight for TBW. At a fan meeting a couple months back, she stated she intended to regain her weight. Obviously it’s not healthy to have drastic weight fluctuations but hopefully her future roles do not require her to put her body weight to the test. At first I was baffled by Chinese fandom toxic behavior but now I am just disgusted by these haters’ actions and I’m sure Reba and other actors have learned to cope with unjust criticisms because there is no pleasing everyone. In my opinion, haters will always find things to criticize.
I do understand some fans’ disappointment that some features from the novel did not get incorporated or was changed in the drama but the trailer is not the finished product. Some issues that were discovered in TBW trailer can be resolved through CGI before the drama is officially released. The areas that cannot be improved or corrected, will it mar the story to the extent where one cannot enjoy the drama? For me, these areas are more visual and can be overlooked as long as the essence of the novel is retained. The areas I’m most concerned with are:
(1) The script, making sure the drama adaptation captures the heart of the story. Any creative changes should improve the plot and not detract from it. (2) Acting- I’m more concerned that the actors (lead and supporting) are portraying the right emotions and playing their characters well. Chemistry between Allen and Reba is obviously important. (3) Directing (4) CGI - It’s important quality in a xianxia genre but if it’s not “perfect” I am not too bothered by it. (5) Fighting choreography (6) Costumes/set designs.
In any drama, the script, acting and directing are always my priority. Other areas can be adequate and I can still enjoy a production. If the script is poor, acting is mediocre or directing is shabby, it cannot salvage a drama no matter how beautiful the actors and sets are, how pretty the costumes are or realistic a merman’s tail. Obviously these are my standards for a drama but I find myself enjoying a performance more when the aesthetic areas are given less weight than the story and substantive parts of a drama. I want to give TBW team the benefit that some of the trailer shortcomings can be overcome with time and with a good story and acting, they will unveil a very good drama.
From now until LOA is aired, there will be many changes that may push up or delay the air date. As the supporters,…
It's always a pleasure to meet new people and I'm looking forward to interacting with other fans of LOA cast (like you) as we all wait for this drama to release. 😁 In fact, I already watched one episode of Word of Honor over the weekend and so far very good. Very interested in the plot and I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the characters but Gong Jun's Wen Ke Xing is definitely hard to miss. Usually for period dramas, I get confused by the male characters as they all look very similar (not meant to be criticism) but the style of dress and hairstyles look similar to one another. When the credit were rolling, I was trying to keep up with how the characters relate to each other and the plot but got confused! Haha. Luckily Gong Jun has a distinctive face so he was easily recognizable but others not so much.
The costumes were beautiful in WOH and I already saw images of Reba, Gong Jun and the rest of the cast and everyone was gorgeously garbed. LOA will definitely be a visual feast. Reba and GJ are so beautiful and can't wait to see how their chemistry plays out on screen. I love historical period dramas and read this drama was compared to Nirvana in Fire, one of the best if not the best Chinese drama I have seen thus far so I definitely jumped for joy when I read Reba was casted as the FL. It also worked out that the Gong Jun was casted as the ML so this pairing was truly meant to be. Really can't wait but willing to wait (patiently) for Legend of Anle to come.

Hi WK1! It’s always wonderful to see familiar names in these pages, especially of individuals where I had good rapport and discussions with (like you). 😊 Thanks to you and many individuals frequenting both LOA and TBW pages, I have caught up on the low-down of potential airings of these dramas. I am of the mindset that the production team should spend as much time releasing a quality drama rather than rushing through post production and editing process. If longer time is required, so be it. With that being said, I do think TBW will air first, hopefully Q1 or Q2 of 2022 and LOA might be airing in early 2023. Of the two, I do prefer LOA but read many positives of TBW. Either way, I think both dramas will be interesting and am looking forward to seeing Reba on screen again in 2022.
Welcome back to this page, after months, though I know you were always lurking around, waiting for the right time…
Yeah, I am a floater.😀 I just jump from page to page of various Reba dramas and comment when I find the topics interesting. I still think this TLB page has the best collection of posters and always venture back here. I don't post often but I do enjoy reading people's thoughts. :)
Wu Lei talked about Ashile Sun and Changge in MAC livestream on Oct 22, here is the linkhttps://youtu.be/8rypqKNGMbMwho…
Ashile Sun is most definitely the "grassland hunk". LOL.🤣 I also love the reference to "88" and Leo's cute reaction. I do miss their interaction (on and off screen) and can tell Leo thinks highly of his and Reba's characters. I truly wish they can collaborate on another production again. Fingers crossed and thanks for sharing the video.
Thanks Fairydustpuppy! These links should clear up the confusion. So cool that three Chinese dramas were nominated…
Thank you for the info on Kim Soyeon. Ironically, I looked her up on Wikipedia 😂😛too and was able to learn more about her and her dramas. If I were to ever venture to Korean dramas, I will definitely give Kim Soyeon's dramas a shot (very interested in Penthouse). I also hope Reba follows her career and is given a chance to play a badass villain (I'm open to her being a villain in a period or modern dramas). That is my wish for Reba because it'll be completely different than what the audience is used to and I think it will truly challenge her as an actress. I really think she'll surprise us (in a good way) if she were offered such a role.
Thanks Fairydustpuppy! These links should clear up the confusion. So cool that three Chinese dramas were nominated…
I feel like you’re my twin - these are my exact sentiments! I have always been aware of Reba (how can you not? She’s absolutely gorgeous!) but she really impressed me as Li Changge and I will forever identify her in this role. Since TLB, I have followed her to YAMG and really anticipating her two upcoming dramas, TBW and LOA and likely continue to follow her from drama to drama throughout her acting career. I hope she keeps getting good roles, continues to improve and move audiences with her performances. 2021 has been an amazing year for her and I am looking forward to her acting progression in the coming years.
Thanks Fairydustpuppy! These links should clear up the confusion. So cool that three Chinese dramas were nominated…
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Kim Soyeon but in my opinion any nomination after scrutiny and screening by critics is deserving of praise. Very pleased that industry experts recognized Reba for her portrayal in TLB. Li Changge is a breakthrough role for Reba and I can imagine how rewarding it must be for her that she received widespread appreciation for a role that she wasn’t sure about accepting and playing a character that was met with resistance from the very beginning. So happy that she dispelled criticisms, embodied her character and gave a convincing and noteworthy performance.
Thanks Fairydustpuppy! These links should clear up the confusion. So cool that three Chinese dramas were nominated…
Well obviously the clarification is not for you, the person who announced the news. You are a Lusi fan, probably follow her news and are privy to the details (the voting aspect) of her award. Clarification is for those non Lusi fans (like me) who read your message and was not aware she was up for an award, particularly when many were told that Reba and TLB drama received nominations from the same award ceremony but there was no mention of Lusi as a candidate for a particular award. I want verified facts and between a fan’s comment and an official website’s announcement, I will always prefer a legitimate source from a website.
Also, I did go through previous threads; many (at the time) could not find any disclosure that Lusi won an award on any news publications which IMO was not surprising because headlines for award shows would always focus on the top categories like Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, etc. People also recommended some links but later disclosed that they could be infected so I did not click on those links. I did open Fairydustpuppy’s link because it appeared to be from a legitimate source and I was interested in the award criteria of each category so her link is helpful to clarify which categories were nominated and judged versus awards that were given predominantly based on fans’ voting. A casual passerby who is curious about the award process for the Seoul International Awards will find this link useful and I am thankful that she provided this information.
Thank you for the encouraging words and yes, I agree we should have faith in TBW production team. If CGI needs…
Agree! Reba fans are blessed that her dramas air not long after she finished filming and the wait for release is reasonable. We’re also fortunate that she has selected interesting characters to portray the past couple of years and her performances have been wonderful. I have faith that she will do her character justice in TBW too. Honestly, xianxia is one of my least favorite genres but I will start any dramas with Reba in it, whether I can finish it is another story. I’m not worried though based on others’ comments; the story is well written and the acting chops of both Reba and Allen should make this drama a hit! I plan on reading the novel before the drama is released but from your and others’ positive remarks, I have a feeling I will love Ji Hun Ye and Chang Yi and this pairing very much. So excited to see Reba onscreen again! 😊😀
To all the disappointed souls in here. People really get disappointed way too easily. Let me ease some emotions…
Thank you for the encouraging words and yes, I agree we should have faith in TBW production team. If CGI needs further work, then by all means, they should be working on that area to provide a quality drama. I rather more time is spent on perfecting the CGI aspect than rushing to release a mediocre or possibly a subpar drama just to satisfy fans’ TV craving. As I had mentioned at the Legend of Anle MDL page, some fans are not so lucky where dramas of their favorites could be shelved for years and fans are still waiting. The Blue Whisper will likely air next year so let’s all try to be patient for a bit longer and wait for the magic to happen. 😊
