This was a subdued look on her. She looked very pretty but a bit too librarianish for me. I prefer her first look but with that face and figure, she can make anything look good. š

A good start! I hope the drama can keep this momentum throughout its airing schedule! Go Prosecution Elite team! š
I was surprised that Prosecution Elite suddenly air-dropped out of nowhere. Scroll down into comment sections....People…
From reading all these comments, I have a hard time understanding this constant debate about CCP propaganda and why the drama should be viewed negatively because of it. So what if this drama paints a favorable light to Chinese government? Many countries, including my own, produce propaganda dramas/movies! Would international fans here change their views and opinions of China and its policies after watching this production? I know I wonāt! I watch Chinese dramas for the entertainment value they provide and nothing more. I do not care if this drama is CCP propaganda because I, and Iām sure many here, can separate that political aspect of it and just enjoy a drama for what it is, for its plot and acting performances.
Those who are offended this CCP propaganda drama can simply not watch. The premise of Prosecution Elite is very clear cut and even before watching, the viewer should not be surprised by its content (pro-CCP). Viewers should try to judge the drama for the plot execution, script, direction and acting and not let their own bias against CCP downgrade the quality of this drama. I donāt think itās fair to the Prosecution Elite team and those who put so much effort into it.
Wonderful news! š Now, I should learn more about the ML ā Jin Shi Jia (not familiar with him)! Anyone want…
Iām not familiar with any of the Chinese dramas you listed ā shows you how out of the loop I am with C-dramas. I am currently watching an old American drama, āThe Wireā. Itās fascinating, so gritty and all the characters are interesting and memorable. It just goes to show that a good drama does not necessary need romance as long as the plot and characters are well developed. I have the same hope for both (including the rumored one) Reba upcoming dramas. I agree with you in that Rebaās earlier works were riddled with poor plot and could have been so much more dynamic. Prior to TLB, other than a couple of dramas, I feel most of her dramas were forgettable. Now, I am glad she is looking out for herself and choosing projects that interest her. Itās very exciting for me to follow her acting career and like you, I hope she releases more projects (this Reba drought is pretty rough) but at the same time, I believe she has put in the hard work and can be afford to be choosy on what her next drama will be.
Never watched it, for some reason I donāt like ZBB ( I have Dong Hua DiJun syndrome and couldnāt see her with…
Dong Hua syndrome! LOL, that is the first Iāve heard it phrased that way! Believe me, I know that feeling. I love their collaboration in Eternal Love and it took me a very long time to move on from this celestial pairing. Then TLB came along; not long after YAMG aired, then followed by The Blue Whisper. Soon (hopefully) we get another visually amazing pair in Reba and Gong Jung. It seems like Reba is fortunate to cast opposite of good (and good-looking) actors. I have not been fortunate to watch her earliest dramas. Iām dying to watch āDiamond Loverā (just for Reba because I heard the rest of the plot stinks) because I love Rebaās exaggerated (yet cute) behavior as the second female lead based on the clips Iāve seen. Too bad, this drama is not subtitled. ā¹ļø
Honestly, I started with this drama and I dropped it. I could not believe a gal that beautiful pretending like…
I enjoyed reading your comments, thank you for sharing! No doubt, this drama was filled with angst and the tragic fates of the main couple would make it a memorable one for fans of the drama. I love reading your perspective and had to laugh at your comment! Reba fans are blessed that she paired up with many wonderful and handsome costars that we canāt help but root for these actors too. She is a chemistry magnet in that she is rumored with almost all the male leads in her dramas but Reba handles her personal (love) life with tact and is pretty much scandal-free. I love that she doesnāt need to pimp her pairing for her drama to be successful! Such queen behavior!
I just saw this on YT and had to post it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AfVBwm_1Lo
I wish this video has subtitles so I can understand! Is it an interview of Rebaās first drama (there were clips of her in āAnarhanā)? There were some powerful scenes from the drama and she looked so sweet and comfortable fielding questions in the interview. I couldnāt believe she was only 18 at the time! Love seeing younger images of her (with her cute baby fat and all).
Next year is a very sad cause maybe one drama of Reba that is if donāt delay it.š°šØ
Yeah, itās too depressing to think there will be no Reba dramas in 2024! š Letās hope she joins a production team soon so that we might be able to see one drama of hers the latter part of next year! š¤
Wonderful news! š Now, I should learn more about the ML ā Jin Shi Jia (not familiar with him)! Anyone want…
Yes, for sure! HK dramas were great in the 80s and the early 90s! My favorites were the Condor Heroes triology, many Jin Yong adapted dramas, Looking Back in Anger (my absolute favorite modern drama) and so much more! The quality of the actors was great too and they were all very good looking/beautiful (natural and each actorās appearance was distinctive). Now, other than Reba, I feel many C-artists look the same, still attractive but not distinctive enough. I couldnāt help but think itās the result of plastic surgery for the current crop of actors (just my speculation).

I am familiar with HK dramas due to my grandparentsā influence! The ones from the 80s were great, especially the costume dramas. The caliber of actors was much better during this period. The 90s HK dramas were okay ā I thought they really excelled in modern dramas. I donāt really watch HK movies but am familiar with the two you noted, āThe Blind Detectiveā (I really do like the collaboration between Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng as they starred in several HK movies together) and āThe Eyeā. āThe Eyeā was deliciously creepy and gripping, so much better than the American counterpart.

Haha, I think Gizzy is one of the best Reba fans out there. š She is very respectful to all Alices and helpful with questions from other MDL posters on her dramas. As for me, I donāt watch a lot of Chinese dramas to be honest; I typically watch more American shows/dramas because my live-in boyfriend prefers Western shows; of all C-dramas, he only finished āPrincess Wei Youngā and āNirvana in Fireā. I primarily watch Reba dramas (for obvious reasons) but he recognizes her face when I happen to have either TLB or YAMG on (of course, Reba is so noticeable). While I like other Chinese actors, I really just follow Reba and her news. Of course, you and other Alices provide so many updates in this page that I am all caught up on Rebaās recent happenings. š
Yes, I agree. Waiting for Reba drama release is testing my patience (and Iām no Job). Itās been a year since āThe Blue Whisperā aired and the wait since has been unbearable. I continue to hear that one of her dramas will be released soon but they both kept being delayed. Super frustrating. š

Yes, it would be great if the drama is based on a novel because I would also read it. I always enjoy seeing how a drama interprets the written work and I enjoy knowing the mindset of the characters when watching them come alive on screen. But I believe both dramas, āProsecution Eliteā and āSword Roseā are original scripts, I think? Are you fans of crime and legal dramas? I enjoy them if they are well written. Some dramas try to be ādifferentā that the plot became too convoluted so I pray that scripts for both dramas are well written and the cases are interesting. I am curious how Reba interprets her roles and how she performs in this type of genre (a new one for her!)
I watched it when it was airing but i clearly remember the romantic partās development was bad. The guy she…
Thanks for sharing! I did forget her babyās daddy (he was that forgettable and their pairing was lackluster). What made ZBBās character so despicable was that he knew she was already in love with another man, yet he forced her to be with him. It was irrelevant what he did afterwards to āwinā her over. There was no doubt that he loved her but his needs and wants were more important. So not surprisingly, IMO the drama was doomed from the start because it was impossible for this character to be redeemed. It is frustrating to me in that ZBB and Reba starred in four dramas together (Eternal Love, Pretty Li Hui Zhen, Flameās Daughter and The Kingās Woman) and not once were they able to get a āhappy ever afterā. As a fan of this pairing, itās very vexing!

Iām in the same boat as you, saving my attention span for Rebaās upcoming dramas. Since āThe Blue Whisperā I only watched one Chinese drama and that was āShe and Her Perfect Husbandā and it was okay (I was interested in the pairing of Yang Mi and Xu Kai). After that, I have not watched any other C-dramas, not that Iām an avid C-drama viewer to start. For me, C-dramas are not the same if they donāt star Reba. Now as we wait for confirmation of her new drama, I need to start my āresearchā again in getting to know her potential ML. I have this habit of researching Reba dramas or her costars when she is about to commit to one or confirmed to join a production. That happened since TLB days. With YAMG, I reread the novel to familiarize myself with the plot points. With āThe Blue Whisperā, I read the novel (what a gem!) and watched Allen Renās āUnder the Powerā to get acquainted with the male lead. For āLegend of Anleā, I watched āWord of Honorā (wonderful drama) to know more about Gong Jun. It sounds a bit obsessive as I am typing up my comments but I love the anticipation of her new drama and her costars so I want to have a better understanding of these actorsā background.

Too funny! My American boyfriend is 6ā6ā and Iām 5ā3ā so I can relate to the height disparity. š Someone posted a synopsis in Sword Rose MDL page under the comment section. Itās apparently about human trafficking and Reba should be cast as the female detective. Itās unclear what the role of the ML but it sounds interesting enough. I hope the writing is strong. I watched a lot of American shows that are crime/legal centric (so much Law and Order) and honestly if the cases are interesting and well thought out, the lack of romance really doesnāt affect my viewing experience. Iām surprised to read that there are quite of number of HK veteran actors joining this production. I grew up watching HK dramas (grandparents were big fans) so itāll be great if I recognized some old faces since I have not watched HK dramas in ages (HK production quality has deteriorated substantially in recent years).
