Unfortunately, I do not believe she is very popular in China. She is very low key and rarely makes public appearances. However, her most recent works in the last 2 years have mostly been high quality scripts compared to straight idol dramas.
I hope there’s going to be a lot of marketing / promotion for this drama when it releases. When Chen Zheyuan received an iQIYI award over the weekend, his video package included a clip of him putting the jacket on Liang Jie for White Olive Tree though most of the video was just other drama clips of just him. There were plenty of other WOT clips they could’ve used with just him from his birthday video. Let’s hope we see a lot more as the drama progresses through filming 🤞🏼

I agree with you 100%!! They both have said filming together on Time Flies was the most fun they've ever had on set. You could tell the both of them were absolutely glowing on Hi Venus :-) Hoping for a third collaboration? Maybe it's best not to be too greedy haha

I agree with you. I feel Zhang Xin Cheng had more room to shine in his portrayal of a female in a male body - even he admitted that he exaggerated the girliness and did not follow Liang Jie / Yu Sheng Sheng's personality exactly. Meanwhile, I think Liang Jie's approach was to imitate his character more closely. Perhaps if she would've burped constantly and scratched herself, people would consider her portrayal of a male to be more authentic and extraordinary.
What bothers me the most about some reviews is when people feel a need to criticize her acting skills in order to praise his. - as if considering they both played to their strengths is unthinkable. The reality is they worked as a team and could not have done it without the other. I thought it was extraordinary skill that the audience could always tell they've switched by their facial expressions / mannerisms.
As an excellent actor, Zhang Xin Cheng complimented Liang Jie's skills as well. I hope one day people feel comfortable with praising both actors instead of propping one up and pushing the other down.
