While I agree that the role should go to a trans actress, Japan unfortunately is still not a friendly place for LGBT+ public figures. Even gay roles are still being played by straight actors (see: Cherry Magic, Ossan's Love). Baby steps, I guess.

Omg same!! I skipped a lot when I was watching ep 8 and this week I really don't feel like watching ep 9, so I decided to drop it

ohhh ep 8 was good!! it has more focus on the mistery/crime plot and that's what I was hoping for—which brings me to the romance between Tan and Bun. As many have said before, their sex scenes seem...misplaced. I love sex, duh, but they kinda ruin the flow of the series to me. It would have been better if they can somehow make it less fanservicey? Idk they just feel random lol

Another thing is Bun. God, I really don't like him. He's got this smugness all over him when in fact he is not tactful at all. Probably that's just me but he really seems so full of himself lol. I'm also not really satisfied with Tul's acting but he's been aware of his weakness since Together With Me days so I guess I can let this one slide.

I just started my 4th rewatch yesterday! The rewatch value of this drama is so high ❤

Tonhon and Chonlatee ain't deserve shit. I'll give props to this show for crafting so many antagonists that are so easy to hate (Tonhon, Amp, Nueng, Ton's dad) but our best boy Na deserves better.

The title didn't change. If you look at the old poster you'd be able to read that the English title has always been "1000 stars". Some people just ran with the translated title (which is not always the official English title) and now everyone thinks the official one was "A Tale of Thousand Stars" lol.

Anyway, the new poster is serving romcom and I don't like it. I'm also afraid that they will go the gay4u route after watching the trailer. Always set my expectations low for GMMTV, but I really hope this time they will prove me wrong.

Ep 4 is a bit jumpy imo. But still, I am lowkey obsessed with this drama. I hope they really have season 2 in their pipeline!

It's kind of a long story but in short, the director released a "behind the scene" "documentary" about the series that turned out to be him just rambling about things. The director and one of his actors shaded Fluke in it, alluding that he did not do enough [promotion] for the series and "how someone acts behind the scene is different compared to how he portrays himself". But he is quickly shut down by Fluke's manager saying that Fluke has been doing promotions for free and Fluke's team has been helping with the promotion event in Bangkok pro bono. The video was taken down and the series twitter account was deleted soon after.

Take it with a grain of salt though since this is what I read on Twitter. I didn't have the chance to watch the video and Fluke's stans refused to pay any attention to the video so not much info is available online.

I do not follow Teerapat but I follow Natouch on his social media and he very rarely mentioned it in comparison to Daughters (his other currently-airing drama). But I don't blame him tho after what the director did to him

You're right. By saying "this happens in other countries too" I mean that unrealistic beauty standard exists in every country in varying degrees and models don't always represent the average look in a country. What happens in S. Korea is definitely on the more extreme side of how beauty standard affects the society though, and I'm not debating that.

To be fair, this happens in other countries too. Models are always people with extraordinary beauty and unique features that might not represent the ordinary people of that country. Hyun Jun is not an anomaly when we are talking about the entertainment industry, which is why I was quite confused by "guys like Hyun Jun" since that's basically almost every idol in existence.

But I agree that the entertainment industry in general has messed up the beauty standard.

I have no idea about his history with plastic surgery, but I personally think Hyun Jun still looks Korean. I also don't think he's severely underweight judging based on some of his IG pics. And actually, unusual features, hollow cheeks, and slim face are all quite common characteristics for models. He looks quite photogenic, especially with his choice of fashion and make-up, so I'm not surprised that he get many jobs as a model.

Since it's quite short, I'd suggest to watch at least 2-3 episodes to find out if it's the right drama for you. Yes, a lot of people say that ITSAY, GSP, and CM are the trinity but I personally didn't enjoy GSP. In fact, I was so close of dropping it but I only had a few episodes left so I finished it. But apparently a lot of other people appreciate the drama so I came to the conclusion that the drama is just not for me. Perhaps that's the case with you and CM and it's ok.

Well I guess my suspicion was correct. 2Flukes don't have much screentime despite playing the main roles and they only did this out of contractual obligation. I don't think 2Flukes promote the series on their social media too lol
