Am I the only one thinking throwing YJ all the way to NY was a stretch? I’m sure there were major events happening…
I agree it was a bit OTT but I think it was so ~hitting~ that it made Yijin's actions make sense. I mean, people can hardly understand him even now, let alone if it was a "minor" tragedy in Korea.
He could have atleast asked her about that new york job??She just heard it form her mom!!...
Huh? I don't know why you have been negative about this drama every single week but he literally returns next episode so clearly they will have a conversation about it. Just watch the show.
Some of you really don't even try to understand Yijin's perspective. He is a college drop out with no qualifications…
I just don't understand because no one would suggest that Heedo should give up fencing, or her dreams, if it took her half way across the world. It's very strange to see how people act as if Yijin's deep suffering is a purposeful slight against Heedo.
Some of you really don't even try to understand Yijin's perspective.
He is a college drop out with no qualifications who has been given ONE chance at a career. He transferred departments because he was so worried of jeopardising his love. That doesn't mean he doesn't have dreams and aspirations of his own. We see in this episode how deeply and strongly Yijin feels about reporting in the right way. It's become his passion in the same way Heedo came to love fencing. His current predicament stems from trauma and depression. He's not being a terrible boyfriend because he's work obsessed, he's suffering deeply.
I can't really formulate thoughts on the episode and my enjoyment of it will depend on the ending tomorrow but I do have to wonder if Heedo would break up with an absent boyfriend only to end up with an absent husband.. ? Feels more likely that they learnt to work at it but......
I believe she retires. I’m not sure what she’s doing. In think there’s a pic of Yurim congratulating HD in…
It'd be too severe to not make them endgame and the friendships not to last. It's ultimately a story of friendship so I'm sure there's a link between them in 2021.
Literally what? This is drama depicting real stories. Not everything can or should be a happy lovey-dovey story…
I was responding the original poster, not yourself! I definitely agreed with you.
I took issue with the idea that NJH/KTR should choose lighter projects to appeal to audiences instead of using their own creative licenses. I really loved hearing their reasons for choosing this project so I thought it was a bit insulting.
First slot and 10% on a cable channel with 30 mins of ads and the drama airing immediately after on Netflix in Korea, with controversies midway and many many people waiting to know the ending before they watch. It's super successful for the genre. Many of you did not follow this drama from promotion to airing but it has surpassed expectations, ESPECIALLY internationally. Episode 14 reached 300k tweets on twitter, something I never could have imagined.
Whichever way you do end up feeling about the ending, it cannot diminish the feeling the drama has given people week to week
Seems like people are really anxious of the ending. And woah Ratings have gone down to 9 from 9.1 🤨I think…
Literally what?
This is drama depicting real stories. Not everything can or should be a happy lovey-dovey story which doesn't have any resemblance to real people. 2521 is a show that has touched many hearts and it's silly to pretend that MDL ratings can measure its impact. We are not about to pretend averaging 10% and topping engagement lists is a sign that people didn't enjoy the story through out.
The intention of the writer was to make you root for these characters that feel real. Characters that could feel like you.
You don't have to enjoy it but they are actors who choose scripts based on their own wishes for their career. Not everyone wants to do sappy romcoms their whole life. If all you took from Mr Sunshine was the ML dying then IDK what to tell you...
If they don't end up together because"it's realistic” then their breakup shouldbe realistic & not 'they protect…
It seems like whatever drives them apart will be an external force and not an issue between them so I guess that is how the writer will overcome this.
I hope it's not a reporter issue because it's very hard to understand why Yijin couldn't simply hold out for a year and transfer to a non sports department 😭
I understand what you mean but if the writer wanted to do this why did she wait for episode 15 to make them fall…
I mean... I agree they dangled it around a bit but Heedo's daughter literally says she does not know Baek Yijin or recognise him 😭 Of course it was slightly more complicated than that, but if it was intended to be taken at face value... I think it was pretty clear?
Just think that might have been part of the thought process.
Last week, everyone crucified him for giving a bad reporter on Yurim only to discover she asked him to.
Give him some credit. He has his own thought processes but one thing is for sure, he never acts with the intention of hurting Heedo.
