I have mixed feelings? This might be rambley so apologies :PFirst, I do want him to kiss her back but I don't…
I'm firmly in the 'I hope he doesn't kiss back' camp. I REALLY need to know where he stands before I get a romantic gesture from him. If they only go down the "athlete/reporter" conflict route while they're both just fully in love with no further.... I'll still enjoy the show but I think they will have made some serious writing contradictions.

Yes, it's almost baffling. I don't have an issue with her being 20 and him being 24, I have an issue with the writer's disconnecting dialogue.

Do you guys remember the comment made Jiwoong made to Yijin when he gave him the picture of Heedo. Like, they're constantly spelling it out. The problem is so obviously a writing problem that I can't help but tell myself that a major resolution has to come.

If he's avoiding her because he's still ~unsure~ I hope we can somehow get an acknowledgment from him that ines were blurred because he didn't set boundaries.

I also realised as I was writing this that we don't really anyone for Yijin to discuss Heedo with a way that can help us understand. All his feelings towards her are directed towards her instead of for example, that we have Heedo's diary to fill in so many blanks. We rely so much on NJH acting and the script dialogue towards Heedo. It's honestly very confusing because sometimes I have no idea what he's going to do.

Everything you guys are saying is my issue with it too. It simply doesn't make that the writer has purposely set these boundaries and an obviously visual / emotional gap between them only to ignore it?

Even with Goblin, I feel like they simply didn't acknowledge the age difference so they were able to "get away" with it. The 2521 reminds us time and time again (even if ep 12) that it feels almost ridiculous that they wouldn't have contemplated how Yijin's character comes across. Considering how good the writing has been till now.

Personally, I think he will reciprocate very mildly and then we'll get the reporter/athlete drama and they'll just depend on "youth" to get them through it lol.

My ideal scenario would be him clarifying his position fully (even if it comes across a bit like they're breaking 4th wall) because I think it needs to be addressed. I think just an acknowledgment that he blurred lines because he couldn't "keep the distance" would help me understand his position since I don't agree that he ever had bad intentions to her, just that the pacing of show is a bit ??? when it comes to them.

Alternately (and I know many people would hate this) but I would love iF adult heedo made a comment about her diary being slightly glamourised and pointing out that the diary is a unreliabl narrator because there's no way Heedo could have fully captured Yijin's perspective through her diary IMO. But also depends on if the story is meant to be fully told from her perspective.

This is all just ~discussion~, overall I do have issues with the friendship to romantic pacing but I think there's way they can fix it. I just want them to acknowledge some stuff lol.

I think many might lose interest if they didn't move to next phase HeeDo out of school immediately.
i dont know if i'd say its that extreme, the episodes are still very enjoyable but i agree most people are getting impatient because it's only 16 episodes and we expected way more time in 25, 21. i personally want them to rush past 24, 20 for 25, 21 but someone here mentioned 2000 was the olympics so maybe not possible lol.

I personally consider them platonic soulmates which makes my viewing more enjoyable. Just have to ignore the romantic…
And that's fair! I just personally dont see it that way and don't think their dynamic has changed much at all. I think they will juxtapose the "romance" with their current relationship very strongly, esp with Yijin when they're 25, 21. Until then.. we're in a weird limbo. This is assuming they ever enter a relationship lol.

I personally didn't think that "date" was romantic in any way, he even said it was to celebrate his promotion.

I agree about the confession, however but I don't think their dynamic changed? Like I'm not denying that there's a romantic subtext that makes me uncomfortable at times but comforting someone and hanging out is not inherently romantic. I personally really do think their love is more for a ~person~ and platonic over romantic ~i have to have you~. But that's my personal interpretation. Many many many people disagree and think they're going to date any minute. I'm just going off the synopsis.

The Yurim/Heedo romantic subtext is more obvious at times IMO lol.

Currently on Episode 11 and while I still liked the show as a whole, can they PLEASE get Heedo out of school so…
I personally consider them platonic soulmates which makes my viewing more enjoyable. Just have to ignore the romantic subtext with the directing but I feel besides the confession they've walked the line carefully?

Yep. Looks like they don’t start college exams next ep. in November. Not 2000 yet.
Yes, agree! Can't wait to see them navigate the worlds as official adults. I enjoyed the high school scenes but I agree that it's time to move on.

Although, I thought it was really nice to see Yijin make peace with his high school days. I think he really needed to let go.

I think the CSAT exams will be towards the start of the episode? Thats in November ofc but the synopsis talks about them gathering to celebrate the millennium so I think the next episode covers Nov - Jan at least. It'll be about a 6 month jump lol.

Only 5 eps left.... 😕At 19,23 They hurt each other...At 20,24 They met again...At 25,21 They fall in love...This…
20, 24 - both are wounded
21, 25 - they fall in love

23, 19 had already been covered and technically 24, 20 doesnt have to be a whole year, it can happen in episode 12 if they want. But my guess is 2 episodes on it.

I find it kinda funny when people complain about it being slow (usually just happy and healing scenes) but also…
They even had character introductions with a focus on the apocalypse/will thing so I think it's significant. The world doesn't end but life starts to change?

I find it kinda funny when people complain about it being slow (usually just happy and healing scenes) but also don't want bad things to happen. The only way they can match the pace of the first few episodes is a fall out - can't wait for the week's cliffhanger lol. Since Koreans become one year older on New Year's day, technically the "wounded part" can happen before Heedo even graduates which seems to be the direction they're going with the focus on the "world ending" on New Years?

I liked the episode, it definitely focused more on Heedo and her mom's relationship which isn't my favorite part of the show but it was undoubtedly something that was in need of repair.

also ofc business proposal already had a fanbase since it's based on a popular webcomic

Why 25 21 has lesser popularity than business proposal no hate to that drama but this drama deserves more popularity😭😭😭😭
genre, mostly. 2521 is doing extremely well for the type of drama it is and the difference in popularity is really not that big? majority of watchers dont update on MDL and 2521 is obviously popular on twitter/etc and ofc netflix!

I understand you have your own thoughts/feelings on it but they're not cruelly toying with you. It's not like…
And that's fair. But I'm almost 1000% sure the drama as it is wouldn't exist without that part of the plot because it is the script's message (aided by the present day storyline) that made Taeri and Joohyuk chose it. For someone who doesnt many rom coms, I'm sure there was something truly special?

I honestly don't get the point of the present day mystery? To annoy us? To keep us talking? They are being deliberately…
I understand you have your own thoughts/feelings on it but they're not cruelly toying with you. It's not like there's a shortage of romance stories without a present day storyline. It's story the writer and actors want to tell. They all said the script touched their hearts and made them emotional/nostalgic/sentimental so I'm sure there's a group of people who the story is meant to appeal to.

I personally do find the high schooler thing uncomfortable considering it kinda added nothing to their dynamic…
I live in the UK, I'm more than aware that people who are 17-18 date 22 year olds. Doesn't mean I have ever approved of that.

Sometimes things aren't based on our conservative culture and our own personal moral systems. I think it's "inappropriate" to date a high schooler as a 22 year old. In the UK, there would definitely be a maturity gap and if I knew someone who was I would definitely side eye them. The problem is not what the age of consent is, it's that the show has literally set up a situation where he acts much older than him and treats her like her high school status IS significant. I don't think it's the ~worst thing ever~ I just wanted the show to avoid it. Esp because I knew the backlash it would face.
