damn, the drama really threw away their characterizations for the sake of delivering plot twists after plot twists. where were the Gifted students I loved in the first season? they were quite useless and irrational for the whole season. even the school director was written better than them.
now im curious about the murderer instead of the BL romantic part xD ( in the first EP they were talking and joking…
Omg yes hello my fellow biologist! Please tell me I'm not the only one who was irked when they removed their face masks in front of the body in the first episode hahahahaha
Since I just completed a recently finished airing BL with a really shitty directing (Love By Chance 2), I just want to say that Manner of Death is very, very well-directed.
I also love the opening credits. It reminds me of a Chinese detective drama!
A cute, go-with-the-flow type of drama. Nothing happens but it's still enjoyable.
Male lead is quite controlling and possessive towards the end of the drama. This possessiveness is portrayed as cute (to show his jealous side) and common (never addressed), it honestly made me uncomfortable sometimes. Other than the last few episodes, he's harmless for majority of the drama.
ngl I didn’t think I’d like the new students based from the trailer but whaddaya know, I now cheer whenever they’d do something while I only want to smack the heads of the seniors
I would never binge nor finish this season had I watch this after it finished airing. Tin and Can’s story was a do-over from the start, while everyone’s story (Kengkla/Techno, Tum/Tar) was a continuation from the first season. However, there was barely any continuation since more than half of the entire season was spent on the retelling (7 episodes out of 13) and the other characters were mostly absent.
Worse part was, the Ae, Tin and Can from the first season were different here. Ae was either crying or drinking, Tin was more aloof, while Can was more childish, dense, and annoying. The drama did not even explain the absence of Pete and the reason why Pete and Ae broke up. It's like the show solely depended on the fans of the novel to explain and defend the story to those who criticize it. The drama also added new characters that have supposedly been right there from the start (e.g. Champ, Mai). No introductions, no development, and no contribution to the plot. Everything just felt so rushed, disjointed, and bad.
And oh boy, don't even start with the acting or the casting. Just because Meen (Tul) was taller than Mean (Tin) doesn't make him look older. They couldn't even find a better child actor for Phupa, Tul's son. Mean and Plan also somehow lost all their chemistry from the first season.
Every aspect (writing, directing, acting) of this season is seriously half-assed. It seems like they only did the drama to get this one done with after all the requests for a second season.
Shoujo mangas always have a rude male lead, but this is the first time I’ve encountered an emotional abuser like Rin.
Rin bullies Yuu, the girl he likes, just because he doesn’t know how to properly act in front of her. He also calls her names like "trash" in order for her to lose confidence and avoid talking to boys. It is mentioned at the start that Yuu have always been timid as a child, but I’m sure as hell she wouldn’t have grown to be THAT spineless and low self-esteemed if it isn’t for Rin. Another thing that didn’t sit well with me is when Rin told Saeki that Yuu is his, as if she is a possession to own.
In short, male lead is a manipulative, possessive, and shitty human being.
adachi: yokatta
tsuge: he-

I personally think that LBC2 was a mixture of everything bad, directing included.

First boyfriend, first kiss—I just want to see a drama where a second lead actually gets a chance!
