I’ve been writing paragraphs after paragraphs every week, so I’m not even going to lie to myself. I’m really easy to please and this drama is a perfect 10 for me.
Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are equal - smart, capable, and successful in their own fields. They have respect, trust, and communication in their relationship. They know the demands of each other’s jobs (a doctor and a special police officer) so they have never had a problem with the lack of time together. They always make up for it, apologize with no excuses, and have been very supporting and understanding of one another. I remember having a problem with one of the leads’ decision making, and the drama actually managed to address it and let them talk it out by the end of that specific episode. They are learning and growing (as a person) together. Definitely one of the healthiest relationships in recent dramas. Ma Sichun and Bai Jingting is quite an unexpected pairing so I’m glad they chose to work on this project and show their great acting and even greater chemistry.
The story has a lot of sweet, cute and comedic moments but it also has some heavy and serious ones. Fortunately, it never got boring nor frustrating because the things happened have been realistic (minus whenever they always end up in life-threatening situations together lol). There is no exaggerated nor unnecessary drama for the sake of creating tension, especially in the romance aspect. All characters, both main and supporting, calmly deal with the problems and solve them through civilized means (ex. Mi Ka vs Xu Yanshan, Xing Keyao vs the Shen sisters) as soon as possible. No dragging out. I can’t even recall any confrontation wherein someone raised their voice.
Besides from the romance, all relationships have been pretty solid as well. The student-mentor relationship of the doctors and soldiers, the long-standing friendship of Mi Ka and Ruan Qiangxia, and the sibling relationship of Xing Kelei and Xing Keyao have all been highlighted in the drama.
The second couple’s storyline may have been dragged out but it got better eventually and not to mention, both are great as individuals. Ruan Qiangxia is another successful, smart, and sweet female lead. She knows how to reject and how to accept rejection. Shu Wenbo is quite dense when it comes to love, but when he gets decisive, he acts on it quickly. As Xia said, he is a very simple-minded person who wears his heart on his sleeve. I didn’t hate him like how some viewers did.
As for the third couple’s storyline, natural-flowing and subtle. If Mi Ka and Xing Kelei are growing together, then Xing Keyao and Shao Yuhan are already two grown adults. There is an unspoken understanding in their undefined relationship, as shown in their actions and conversations. I absolutely love seeing them together.
Looks like it's copycat of Korean drama DOTS. Anyone tell me it's the same story or not?
It’s not. This drama is based on a Chinese novel from 2012.
Romance here is more straightforward than DOTS, so their relationship dynamics is more visible. More medical drama aspects (ex. operations, student/mentor relationship) as well.
The sisters really just CONFIDENTLY claimed they’re going to be part of the Xing family with all their breath. And they even think that his sister will be a hurdle to any of his relationship when in fact, Xing Keyao and Mi Ka gets along. I have to laugh.
And when that conversation is happening, Xing Kelei is nervous for nothing while Mi Ka is just eating duck neck and screaming “brilliant” as she watches an operation on her screen.
Lmao, I love me some entitled delusional leeches and the unnecessary and out of placed drama they are trying SO hard to create. It’s ridiculous.
Thankfully, the past 30 episodes have shown that Mi Ka and Xing Kelei thinks, trusts, and communicates. Mi Ka is very chill, even taunting Kelei about the situation. Xing Kelei is no dense either—he does the ”oh shit not again” face whenever they try to create tension and reiterates that Mi Ka is his girlfriend, drawing a clean line between them. They truly are too smart and mature for this problem.
The story is getting heavier but what I love about it is that everything happening is real and serious. No exaggerated tropes for the sake of drama. Everyone is smart and mature, talking about their problems and solving it through civilized means. Just like how Mi Ka and Dr. Shao talked to Xu Yanshan. There was no ganging up nor an angry confrontation, just expressing their disappointment and explaining their perspective. The student-mentor relationship of Dr. Shao and the new residents is honestly one of my favorite parts of the drama.
i cant find info on the boy group, BEST. someone, help !

“I know I’m not perfect. But I wish to build an impregnable city for you. Regardless of the rainstorms, I want to bring sunny days to you. So that you can bask in the sunshine and live happily without worry.”
The confession scene has got to be one of my favorite scenes so far. It's very fitting with their characters and situation — a doctor and a special forces officer currently in a life-threatening search and rescue operation. And with that context in mind, the confession is much more romantic and genuine and sweet. Gosh, I really love them.

My excitement for the remake just went through the roof!
Besides him, all members of BEST participated in Produce Camp 2019. I guess they just had to have him undergo in a survival show as well xD
