Just an FYI, we got a step sibling romance in HIStory 1: Stay Away From Me, and HIStory 2: Boundary Crossing if…
Yes, I’ve seen the two titles you’ve mentioned. That’s why I mentioned at the last paragraph that I appreciated how this is the only HIStory to ever explore the step-sibling romance and how finally, we get to see how the parents react to and deal with that kind of relationship.
This one’s ending in a few days and unfortunately, I still hate Yong Jie, no matter how much the show tries to redeem him.
No amount of backstory or excuse can ever justify his actions which includes: - stalking his step-brother and going inside his house without consent (episode 2) - punching his step-brother’s friend just because he was jealous (episode 3) - not showing any remorse and only apologizing to that friend when he lost the bet (episode 4) - literally getting his step-brother drunk to sleep with him and confessing that it was on purpose (episode 6) - threatening to jump off a building to get his step-brother to talk to him... which is literally manipulation (episode 8) - filming their sex and showing it to their parents (episode 12)
As for the last point, I know he did that to “help” his brother out; to “transfer their father’s anger away from him” or whatever that is. Either way, rape or not, filming it is totally non-consensual.
I appreciate how this is the only (HI)story to ever explore the step-sibling romance, though. Like finally, we get to see how the parents react to and deal with that kind of relationship. Their relationship was also not just a case of being sexually attracted to a step-sibling. The older brother acknowledged that it was feelings of concern at first, which eventually turned to love after so many years. In addition, there were lots of intervention from both their parents and their friends just to make sure of their feelings. Them being together was not a rash decision. The coming out of the closet confession in this drama even got me teary-eyed.
I was just saying how Kose Naoki was my favorite in the Mugendai battle and now, he left the show (tested positive for covid). He worked so hard to join season two after failing to qualify in the first season and practiced so hard to be on Class A. It’s heartbreaking. I just hope an agency will pick him up in the future.

And both are fantastic child actors who have plenty dramas under their belt!
To those who aren’t aware about what happened and how serious the situation is, https://twitter.com/melonsanonymous/status/1388691212048109571?s=21 has summarized it.
Hopefully, two years would fly by. Good luck on the military!
