At this point, the pang in my heart every time I watch this drama is caused by the musical score / background music, not the (repetitive and messy) story. The instrumental music does a great job in elevating the atmosphere.
The first few episodes have been rocky but the second half has been good and full of surprises.Despite how everyone…
In episode 14 alone, Who-joon and Geun-young were finally thrown with the inevitable career breaking scandal. Naturally, one would expect a break up, let the reason be a misunderstanding or the noble idiocy trope as requested by the entertainment agency, yet there wasn’t any. Instead, the two main leads talked it out and Who-joon simply requested to give him some time to deal with his own mess.
This episode also gave the long awaited confrontation between the top star and the entertainment agency CEO. As much as Who-joon hated to admit it, the CEO has changed so much - losing his sincerity, forgetting his roots, and easily getting rid of those who block his way. With that conversation, Who-joon was ready to leave and move forward.
Another great confrontation was between the two male leads. There was no forgiveness nor reconciliation, but there was an acknowledgement and a realization. It took 14 whooping episodes but at least, Jae-joon was finally ready to let Who-joon and In-young go.
In some ways, Jae-joon was a pitiful character: consumed with years worth of jealousy and bitterness, and abandoned by his friends AND his own family. Since he’ll most likely end up on a hospital next episode, I hope he seeks a therapist while he’s in it. Lmao.
The first few episodes have been rocky but the second half has been good and full of surprises.
Despite how everyone was miserable in episode 14, it was surprisingly one of the best episodes in terms of character growth and story development. Everyone seemed like they were ready to confront their past, move forward, and let go of the memories and emotions that hold them back.
Daehwi (Produce 101 Season 2 theme song center and Wanna One member) wrote the ballad song for the finale! Here is Daehwi giving advice and comments (via video call) to the 20 trainees during the recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5c2tJDJZCg
Some highlights in the video for me: - Daehwi introduced himself as the Nayana center when he talked to Kimura Masaya (Let Me Fly center) and said that he can relate to him and expects a lot from him. - He mentioned to Iinuma Anthonny that he saw the Hanataba no Kawari Melody performance and complimented his voice AND smile. - He also mentioned the Hanataba no Kawari Melody performance when he talked to Fujimaki Kyosuke. - He seemed really, really impressed when Kobayashi Daigo sang his part. - He asked Ozaki Takumi if he was from Osaka because he lived there before and they just hit it off. Lol. - Ikezaki Rihito seemed so starstrucked when he talked to Daehwi. Rihito was all smiley and he was just so cute. Daehwi complimented Rihito's voice (both in rapping and casual speaking) after that. - Daehwi thought Nakano Kaiho was a vocalist. Lmao. - Daehwi and Nishijima Renta conversed in Korean. Daehwi later mentioned that Renta is just like Lee Eunsang (Produce X 101 trainee and X1 member). y'all I literally screamed because both Renta and Eunsang are one of my picks lmaooo
CHAPTER 1: Unnamed Relationship (R+18 chapter)- The swimming club watched porn after their last day of training…
Some random facts about Win found in the four chapters: - name given: Phawin - vice president of the swimming club - comes from a Chinese descendant family (that's why Team addresses him as "hia" Win instead of P'Win) - his family owns the resort where the swimming club had their training aka he’s rich lol - has tattoos all over his body - has shit tons of ear piercings - also has gold medals in basketball and tennis - grades are great and has won lots of academic competitions - is bisexual
He’s basically responsible, kind, and smart so his family lets him do his own fun thing (tattoos, hair dye, piercings).
also, I’ll summarize the other chapters when I get bored again. I’m doing this so I can have a mini refresher when the drama airs xD
Got bored so I re-read Hemp Rope and summarized the first five chapters for those who are lazy to read the novel!
CHAPTER 1: Unnamed Relationship (R+18 chapter) - The swimming club watched porn after their last day of training at the resort, Team got hard but couldn't climax with all the people there so he went outside. - Win saw that, decided to help out... and they had a rough (wink wink) night together. *note: this happened during the swimming club's training out of town (EP3 of Until We Meet Again). basically, Between Us has the same timeline as Until We Meet Again but the story is focusing on Win and Team.
CHAPTER 2: The Medicine Tube - Team had marks all over his body (wink wink) so he pretended to be sick and skipped his classes and the training. - Win found out and visited the supposedly sick Team (who apparently lives on the same building as him), brought food and medicine over, and the two basically just spent some time together in team’s room.
CHAPTER 3: Eating Little Child to Be Immortal - Win and Team ate breakfast together at the cafeteria and talked about lots of things like why Win got tattoos at a young age - “But the tattoo under the swimming trunks, only you could see it” - Win’s friends later teased him and it was during that conversation did Win find out that Team only turned 18 a month ago; that he “ate Team when he was only 17 years old.”
CHAPTER 4: A Kind Person - Team had an R18+ dream about Win, woke up early, proceeded to buy breakfast at the convenience store, and coincidentally met Win (who paid for his food) there. - Team skipped swimming practice again but attended the meeting for the upcoming open house event. - Team got drunk from the coffee liquor-flavored milk tea the club gave to those who attended the meeting. - Win saw the drunk Team, took him home, and gave him a sermon. - “Team: I don’t see the need to tell. Win: Because it’s you. I am worried.”
CHAPTER 5: The Pool in Memory - This chapter introduced Win’s brothers: Wan (older) and View (younger). - The swimming club talked about the representative selection for an upcoming swimming competition and Team was the only member who was unenthusiastic about it. - It was later revealed that Team has a trauma about drowning and that he has nightmares about them. - Win noticed that Team’s records were decreasing, learned about Team’s nightmares and his lack of sleep, and insisted Team to sleep in his apartment. - Later that night in Win’s apartment, Team started to get tense with his nightmare but it stopped when Win embraced him in his sleep.
EP5: Love the two main leads! They're too smart for the Morikawa twins' hidden agenda. Like, they shouldn't even try to challenge them because 1) Aiko trusts her boyfriend, 2) Reo has been blatantly rejecting the other girls since the beginning, and well, 3) Aiko hates losing.
Omg, yes. The drag segment seemed so rush and it barely showed the backstage happenings. This season has been…
Omg, Ando. It still hurts. And I’ve read somewhere in Reddit how Team A mirrors Six Packs, considering how the three are all strong vocalists and how their rankings are totally different with every eliminations. I guess I’ll really just have to prepare myself with the surprises like you.
Shoya is indeed too talented to be ranked outside top 20. His dancing and singing are quite stable. I consider him, along with Tekoe and Vasayegh, as the strong but under appreciated trainees.
I’m rooting for Jin as well! He just keeps getting better with every evaluation and he seems really likeable and genuinely nice in general. For those outside top 11, I’m rooting for Ikezaki Rihito. I love his rap style. Very chill.
EP9 broke my heart :( I was so invested in all 40 of the trainees and seeing them get eliminated was so sad, especially…
Omg, yes. The drag segment seemed so rush and it barely showed the backstage happenings. This season has been pretty stingy when it comes to trainee interactions. Understandable I guess, given the coronavirus situation in Japan. But still, it hurts not seeing the friendship and bond formed between the trainees because they only have one another when practice becomes tiring and difficult.
I just go "they were close?!" every time the trainees gather after the eliminations. Fujimaki Kyosuke's breakdown at the end of EP9 with Fukuda Shoya, in particular, really broke my heart.
The concept songs this time were overall underwhelming. I liked AIM and Another Day tho yeah, I'm just upset cause…
That is so true! I like the group battles and position evaluations better here in season two, but I prefer the concept evaluations in season one. Concept songs like Yancha and HapiMeri remain to be iconic while the ones in this season are very much K-pop like.
Honestly! I also cannot even imagine how tired the trainees are with program's policies like the no dorm situation. Every minute inside the training camp feels so important to the point that they barely rest :/
Something About 1%, My Secret Romance, and So I Married an Anti-Fan all have that charm and sweetness the early 2000's Korean dramas have. I really enjoy watching his works!
I'm not up to date. Do we know how many episodes are there? I've never watched a bl in real time. Do series air…
June/July was the original plan. They even had the casting auditions at the start of April.
Unfortunately, Thailand experienced a surge of cases in April 2021 after months of having controlled the virus. Thus, filming restrictions and they weren’t able to finish Seven Project. Boun even had to undergo a mandatory 14 day quarantine on the second week of April because he attended an event where one of the staff tested positive.
I’m sure no one wanted the drama to get delayed. It's just that the situation hasn’t allowed them to film.

No confirmed number of episodes yet as of this writing.
Depends on the drama! Last year, Love By Chance 2 started filming on May, premiered on September, finished filming on October, and ended its run on November. I used Love by Chance 2 as an example since it is also under P’New (director), has Studio Wabi Sabi artists, and is shown in WeTV.
