Their hugs look so snuggly and real and happy. Sometimes hugs look stiff in some dramas, but the hugs here are…
I love the hugs even more than the kisses! (though ofc I love both) when they are cuddling and they play with each other's fingers those are very small details that make the moment more heartwarming cause real couples do those small acts subconsciously
Are the subs better in Viki? I did find the quick released subs (kisskh and dramacool) are not translated well…
I'm not sure. I'm working on my mandarin so i watch without subtitles. From what I know, on Viki the subs seem to usually be better than even sites like Netflix and WeTV but again, not sure about this drama specifically
If you guys decide to rewatch this drama while waiting for Monday, please do so on Viki and use timed comments to help raise engagement there (by pointing out interesting small details we discuss here). Viki got the license for L&P late so there’s not that many people who are watching it on Viki ): but it deserves more attention so rewatching on Viki can help promote L&P to people who watch dramas exclusively on Viki
And in the novel, she never wavered in her loyalty and support after he was released from jail. He was jailed…
Yeah that’s why I don’t like novel Zhu Yun because she needs to know her worth. Novel Li Xun isn’t worth all that pain and her acting pathetic like that
for anyone who read the novel, i want to ask, when will LX stop being a player and really in love with ZY? because…
I started to read the second part of the novel (present day) and I literally hate it. They make Zhu Yun so pathetic. The jail sentence was actually 6 years in the novel yet Zhu Yun told people throughout the six years that she has a bf (Li Xun). And she is the one who keeps fighting for the relationship even in the present despite Li Xun literally mocking her in some scenes. Li Xun is an asshole in the book and Zhu Yun is a pathetic puppy. I’m so glad the drama is different!

I read like 10 chapters of the second part of the novel and did not like how Zhu Yun was written. I’m glad they changed Zhu Yun’s character in the drama tbh
New member here. Corrrect me if I am wrong, I dont think they slept with each other during the 3 years. The director…
in the novel, after the river confession scene, they have sex (zhu yun's first time) in the hotel. but it wasn't a romantic scene because li xun in the book is quite a player and is rough even though it was zhu yun's first time which is uncomfortable in of itself. glad they omitted that in the drama.
in the drama, zhu yun also has keys to the apartment - that one scene where she walks in complaining about how tired she was. honestly, i think it was just the director's choice not to include any more intimate scenes because they are portraying students and probably wouldn't pass censorship (promoting sexual behavior to youth). also i think it's just not that relevant to the storyline. couples will do what couples do behind closed doors.
in the trailers, it looks like there will be scenes of more intimate moments when they are 25 and 26 years old which is a better age for passing censorship. i think showing the intimate scenes when they reconnect makes more sense at this age anyway because it can be used to show how they both pined for each other during their long separation.
I rewatched ep 2 again and i realized that Zhu Yun is ALWAYS talking to Li Xun with the softest voice ever. at their first meeting after he got released, she asked him in the softest way "when were you released" with a slight smile despite us now knowing how difficult the past 3 years were for her...
and then after Li Xun pissed off her parents in ep 21, ep 22 starts off with Zhu Yun finding Li Xun at the office and despite her having the right to be super pissed off, she softly asks him "why didn't you pick up your phone?"
From parents pov, their daughter:1) dropped out of graduation exams cause of lixun2) suspended from any programming…
yes, apparently in the novel, her mom will never acknowledge her grandchildren's last name even till the day she dies. so she never ends up fully accepting li xun
oh my god. ANOTHER REALIZATION. idk if i'm just super slow and everyone already thinks this or if this was intentional or what but I realized Li Lan got surgery on one of her eyes and Li Xun beat up Fang Zhijing and he lost one of his eyes. was it intentional??? cause the whole reason she came by was to get surgery for her eye but it became the ultimate reason for her death?
Yes because he mentioned to Gao the day before the award ceremony which means he has been keeping tabs of when it is (while Zhu Yun completely forgot about the day until last minute). He also did not try to get a lesser sentence at all, not preparing any defense statement at all. Also they had the line on the script of how he promised to protect his mom and sister for a reason (and how they both died despite what he said).
I can't find the comment anymore but I agree that Li Xun's actions are obviously calculated. He did it in front of everyone on purpose. He WANTED to get caught because he needed to get punished for not protecting his sister in order to live with himself.

Zhu Yun deserves the world :(
was his goal making FZJ lose an eye?
