To an extent, it was a meaningful drama. But judging from all aspects I think it's not captivating enough. There weren't any obvious fillers; all of the scenes are necessary in one way or another. However, I must say that they could do much more to make those scenes more enjoyable; there's always some sparks here and there, but I seriously thought it could have been so much better to sacrifice some parts to cut the running time. More than anything, it did feel like a tightly-packed family drama in the form of a 20-episode-only drama, which is usually for developing a smaller number of characters (and for that reason, romance was barely presented so I wouldn't really recommend this to casual romance drama viewers [like me]).
The supernatural theme is meant to be viewed upon lightheartedly but then there were some disturbing stuff here and there that I couldn't help but felt funny/ illogical even speaking from a supernatural perspective. Maybe it's one of the main reasons why I couldn't enjoy the whole ride with this drama as I wished.
This movie (Ha Seon I mean) warmed my heart so much :') Since it refers to a real-life event in the past I guess the ending was inevitable. But what a show. Really enjoyed it with all the humor and thought-provoking scenes. I didn't get why they didn't tell Ha Seon beforehand about the scar but that was a small dust of a whole beautiful picture. 10/10 ♥
it has such a great build up but towards the end it feels a bit filler-ish, maybe because the story line is too romance-centric when I couldn't really keep up with the main characters' behaviors... I rolled my eyes when Young accepted secretary at the end. i mean it's fine if she forgives you but if you love her so much how could you indirectly make her blind and just shed a few tear drops then a single word sorry and baam, happy reunion. i really wanted this lady to turn herself in jail... am i too selfish? most probably not. the ending was weirdly unsatisfying... why did they still make us believe that it's gonna be a sad ending until the very last minutes ugh I'm pissed.
6/10 for a not so meaningful show (felt like it had used many tropes we see in kdramas but not really succeeded in developing them properly), but since Jo Insung was so good at acting and he alone made it a worthwhile watch, 7/10. also the main OST is so beautiful ;_;
when i finished watching this, unconsciously i compared this drama with Kill Me Heal Me. sadly, i couldn't even recall half of the storyline from that drama which i checked, was given a 9 by me. that's when i immediately know i have to give this drama a 10. and i know i won't change the rating. why?
most dramas give you that urge to keep watching because there are more plot twists/ back stories to come and they make sure you have no idea what's gonna happen. but right from the start all the secrets were unfolded; there was nothing else to be curious about (of course, except for the ending: happy end, open end or sad end?). this drama is one of the few dramas that could keep me on the edge of my seat just to watch the process, rather than the outcome (because let's face it, barely any writers get their heroes/ heroines injustice). The character developments and the chains of events to me were perfect. I don't know about you, but this drama is timeless; i will not forget most of it so easily (like I sadly did with KMHM). The quality and the lessons from this drama come out so good I could have easily thought it was an up-to-date drama if I hadn't known the fact that it was produced 5 years ago.
I'm so in love with the acting and Hwang Jungeum's crying scenes were too real to me I'm worried if she had a hard time filming for this :/ And Jisung too... he is as good as always. I love his eyes so much (and geez he never leaves his suit but what can i say... he looks so good in it).
Okay I'm obsessed. I admit it. That's actually a relief to me. Because I finally find watching dramas worth it again :)
I liked So Bong character development. I liked Roboshin. But I didn't like the ending. I didn't like the cliched fighting over the company. I didn't like any thing to do with Jong Gil because there are already a tons of characters like him in kdramas. I didn't like how Shin changed for the better only once Mother passed away.
The message this drama tries to deliver hasn't really gotten to me just yet (or I'm just too shallow) so I feel quite empty after the show ends. I don't know what I want from this drama either. It's really an odd feeling...
The plot is boring and there are many plot holes/ odds as well as fillers/ unnecessary scenes; a few character developments suckass (especially towards the end with the chairman). But overall it was slightly (lol) enjoyable as I loved some of the characters here. Female lead is a no no though both for the character and the acting.
This show definitely taught me a lot along the way. All the crimes were perfectly set up. I found the acting of the senior actors outstanding. The characters are well-built. The plot is neat, captivating and brilliant. I love the message of this show overall; I don't like the ending and not quite sold on the fantasy theme overall (I'm a bit sad over the fact that they had to throw in a supernatural circumstance to be able to solve the cases— which again shows the realistic, unfair world we are living in) but it has been a great ride for me and it's one of the very few dramas that I know I will never forget.
The idea was absolutely something new to me in the K-drama land and for that I kept getting hooked more and more towards the end. This is also probably why I was left mostly empty. Did I miss something during this mind-blowing run? Or were those questions in my head plot holes? Moreover, open endings usually ticks me off but in this case, I completely love it and hope for a new season for this. If not, then I'm afraid I will give this 8.5 for the time-being, for many unanswered questions in my head (and again, probably most of them just me not paying enough attention or plain dumb to figure out). All in all, this show was beautiful. The CG effects were amazing. The acting was (in general) beyond convincing, and I fell in love with the main cast. I think it's a pity how they made it a bit too tight/ rushed and felt like they could have delved onto Byul as well as the process of how the blue bug was created by the Human B Chairman (or again, I have probably missed that detail).
watched most of her filmography and I have to say she has potential. Her expressions are not various but thankfully she does not exaggerate so it should be easier to improve if she devotes in her acting career. Good luck, Da Da!
Couldn't agree more. I hate the female lead in the manga. She is so plain/ naive and unattractive and then we…
Oh right I only focused on the robot and forgot about Soushi lol. Totally agree! Your Riiko analysis is so on point I'm crying.
But seriously I can't imagine a truly satisfying ending for this love triangle cause I kind of want a human-human ending but then the robot should be the main thing that makes the story line different from other casual romcom I assume, with that in mind I can't overlook Jingoo's character either (and ugh I prefer Jingoo to Jonghyun).
I hope the writer at least builds the characters well (especially the girl). This is really important to me, more so than the plot. Speaking of characters I'm quite nervous about Minah's performance. I hope she improves from her last drama but it's been a two years since she last acted. I'm not sure if her acting can somehow be passed as watchable alongside Jingoo since this boy is so experienced (and a good one at that). Also I hope the age gap is not too apparent lol. Minah is 4 years ahead of Jingoo hm...
I should have dropped sooner than episode 11. It was sooooo boring because most if not all it provided in 11 episodes is love but the love story is not by any ounce interesting to me. The ex-boyfriend... his character was a bit overdone and so it was so annoying to bear him for a few good episodes.
Also am I the only one who didn't feel their chemistry? I don't like Jung Haein's character either... P.S. I skipped episodes 11-15 and watched episode 16. what's with the unclear ending though cause I'm sure the mother is still against it?
It's all my fault for wasting time on something I don't like. I'm the loser in the end.
The manga is very childish, I'm hoping the writer would make the characters more sensible this time, especially…
Couldn't agree more. I hate the female lead in the manga. She is so plain/ naive and unattractive and then we have a robot who loves her unconditionally. Many things about the manga don't make much sense so the writer for this remake version must do a lot unless he wants this to turn into a flop like we see in most Korean remakes. I will cry if this turns out bad/ failure because the leads look so fine. Overall, I honestly have no hope with the robot theme but I have hope for the potential chemistry among the characters. Please at least make it entertaining and worth-while; that's the most I expect from this drama. Still looking forward to it nonetheless.
