What's the other one? I only know Narratage and this
Love That Makes You Cry. But tbh they were with other people in the drama, so they weren’t love interests.

Title Love Alarm
Should I watch this drama? There’s so many bad reviews so i don’t even know if I should-
Actually apart from the Love Alarm app bit, this is one of the most realistic dramas. The characters in this show are the most human ones I’ve seen in a while. In their high school years, they do stupid things, their feelings get complicated at times, they can be clingy and persistent in front of the person they love, they make decisions they regret, but at the end of the day they grow from their mistakes and experiences.

People didn’t like Jojo’s character because she was apparently a mess, but actually she was the most real and the most raw in the whole show. Her decisions may have been stupid at times, but looking from her perspective, it’s what was best for her, and sometimes people are selfish.

If you want to watch this show, you have to be a little open minded and accept that people change, people grow, people move on, and people don’t always stay in love with their high school crushes.

I don’t think simply kissing her determines Sun Oh as the main lead. Reply 1994, Jealousy Incarnate, Marriage…
There are currently 13 volumes of the webtoon in English translation, but they’re still translating the rest. As for the Korean original..I think it’s finished..? Everyone says it’s finished so I assume it is.

Whether it’s finished or not, it’s going in the direction of Hye Young X Jojo anyway. Unless the writer does a complete 180 at the end XD

I read the webtoon in English, so if the drama follows the webtoon, Hye Young is 100% endgame. But the drama could do it’s own direction. However, considering that endgame is such a major part of the plot, I don’t think the drama makers can deviate from the webtoon, so I’m like...99% certain Hye Young is endgame. But that 1% is left just in case XD

Honestly, in the webtoon Sun Oh and Yuk Joo were doing well, Sun Oh not once had thoughts of breaking up with Yuk Joo, so if he does, I guess it will be that cliché “comes back in the last 5 episodes and tells her let’s try one more time, I’ll love you, etc”.

But yes, I agree, none of the male leads are antagonists. Although Sun Oh pissed me off in season 1 XD

I see people in here arguing who Jojo should end up with, meanwhile me trying to remember what the hell has happened…
Right, it’s been so long ? I mostly just remember the last scene and Yukjoo’s (Sun Oh’s gf) poor face as she looks between SO and JJ and realises he likes JJ.

I don’t care what happens to the other characters on the show but poor HY and Yukjoo need their own happy endings because I’m tired of seeing the broken sad looks on their faces when they watch the people they love.

how do you know who is the second male lead?
Honestly you should wait for season 2 to come out and then watch both seasons together. I feel like everyone who has watched love alarm should do that. That way you appreciate the storyline and hye young’s character more. The writers messed up by splitting this into 2 parts, messed up more by portraying only JJ and SO’s relationship in season 1, and messed up EVEN MORE by delaying the release of season 2 for so long.

If all the episodes were released right after one another, more people would appreciate HY and his feelings for JJ :/

Drama Will be disaster if it will end like webtoon...
Yeah Sun Oh is a huge jerk in the webtoon, but they changed his character a lot in the drama so that fans like him.

I'm gonna see the webtoon if my boy doesn't get the girl in the drama
I read it too and was so pissed at webtoon Sun Oh because he was an ass. If the producers didn’t make Sun Oh’s character so different and likeable in the drama there wouldn’t be so many SO x JJ shippers.

In webtoon, Hye Young already ended up with Jojo so why not let Sun Oh end up with jojo in drama for example just…
What lol. True Beauty isn’t finished yet but it’s very obvious Suho will be endgame. These producers discuss everything with the webtoon creators first, so obviously certain parts have to stay the same as the original work, especially something major like endgames. How could the producers just copy what they want from the webtoon and then change the ending to what they want?

Damn that trailer was intense, so JJ and HY low-key date, but she rings SO love Alarm, so they have a small fling,…
I don’t think simply kissing her determines Sun Oh as the main lead.
Reply 1994, Jealousy Incarnate, Marriage Not Dating, these are some dramas where female leads have kissed 2nd male leads, or even been in relationships with them first. In Innocent Man, the male lead was with the 2nd female lead first and later got together with the female lead. However, that being said, 8 episodes of Love Alarm season 1 plus the teaser have shown her kiss only Sunoh so far, so it really makes you wonder if all this kissing really does indicate that they're endgame and we’re just looking too deep into it XD

I’m not sure why everyone says HY and Jojo seem to be endgame from this trailer alone (I’m not complaining, I want my boy HY to get it). Is it because they’re seen spending time together? I mean it could just be one episode of the cute stuff before disaster strikes, we don’t know yet.

I also think HY is endgame, and have thought so from the beginning, and I always said that season 1 was laid out like that for a reason (get high school love done and out of the way and bring in another love interest at an older age where everyone is more mature and mentally stable because JJ was really going through it in high school). But Netflix really messed up by splitting this into 2 parts because now 90% of the viewers want a sunoh endgame.

Suddenly this drama is trash because Song Kang might not be the male lead?
That being said, Garam has had several main roles too, but in movies, not dramas. I guess he gears more towards movies rather than tv shows.

I love Song Kang. He’s a great actor. But how many people can actually say they knew who Song Kang was before love alarm? I guarantee you only very few.

It’s because of this immense popularity from LA that he was able to get more roles and show his acting skills.

I said ‘if’ he is the main lead.

And if it becomes a disaster it will be the writers’ fault anyway. They shouldn’t have produced the drama in a way that most fans only like one guy.

Look at True Beauty, Han Seojun had an IMMENSE amount of fans..but so did Lee Suho. And it was thanks to the writing of the story. We can’t say the same about Love Alarm.

I actually feel bad for Jung Garam in all this. If Netflix and the writers hadn’t made such a messy plot AND split it into two parts, Garam would have had more popularity due to more screen time. So now, even if he’s the main lead in season 2, his popularity isn’t high. Song Kang’s popularity skyrocketed thanks to Love Alarm season 1.

I honestly am not experiencing sls in this drama. Jojo and Sunoh just click. If she ends up with Hye young it’ll…
I would suggest not watching season 1 yet. Season 2 comes out on March 12th so just wait till then and binge watch both seasons :)

The only drama in which the 2 nd male doesn't have a lot of fans.even though he has a good characterEvery comments,…
The writers messed up. They should have showed ALL the episodes together, that way people would have naturally liked hye young a lot too. But they split it into 2 parts. And part 1 only shows sun oh and jojo so of course more people would like sun oh more. I kind of feel bad for Jung Garam. Song Kang gained a lot of popularity because of season 1 since he was on the screen like 90% of the time. Jung Garam wasn’t, so his popularity didn’t increase. NOW a lot of people are biased towards sun oh so even if hye young is the main lead in season 2 he won’t have many fans.

The writers really screwed things up for Jung Garam.

Season 1 was 8 episodes. The second lead, which a lot of people assume is Hye Young, barely has any scenes with Jojo until the ‘4 year later’ time jump where they’re no longer in high school.

In her high school years (aka for 6 episodes straight) she was only with Sun Oh. This is why people keep saying HY and JJ ‘don’t match’. It’s not that they don’t match, it’s because they didn’t have much screen time together.

I think HY is the main lead and will be endgame at the end of season 2, because the writers are trying to show that ‘first loves’ aka sun oh and jojo aren’t the be all and end all (S.Korea has this fetish about first loves that start in high school). They’re trying to show viewers that real love usually starts once you leave school.

If this is not the end result, I HONESTLY don’t understand why HY would even be in the show.

P.S. When I first saw edits of Jojo and Sun Oh, I was head over heels for them, but when I saw the drama, my heart was aching for Hye Young. This edit summarises season 1 but doesn’t spoil much either:
