At least this one's not a high school character. I love the manga adaptations he's been in so far but I was starting to get bored of him constantly having the same, high school tsundere role. After seeing him in Todome No Kiss, I really want him to act more older and mature roles. (Some might argue that Otaro wasn't very mature but you get what I mean XD)
I completely agree! The first 4 episodes are really slow (and somehow boring) BUT now that I passed them I'm hooked
I got to the first 3 episodes or so and dropped because it was boring. And then decided to go back to it after a few weeks because it was still big at the time, and I completely binge-watched it. The acting was honestly so phenomenal for me that I got so angry at everyone except for Sang Mi and Dong Cheol. Those two just needed someone to hug them and tell them they’ll be okay. How are you finding it so far? Is your blood boiling yet?
Wt abt d ending ??I'm planning to watch it.Happy, sad or open end?
It’s not a sad ending, that’s for sure. It’s kind of a mix between happy ending and open ending. They get together, but it doesn’t show them getting married and having 3 kids. Like it’s not that kind of ending.
Your comment!! I loved it :') this is why I love With You so much. Yu Huai was an amazing character. I struggled…
Thank you! I finally found someone with the same views. And it didn’t exactly have an open ending, I mean it still indicated that they were going to be together, which is still pretty good compared to how many other dramas that have dragged us for dozens and dozens of episodes and then given us a crappy, unsatisfying ending.
This was so good. Like so good that I can't get myself to watch season 2 because I'm scared that it will disappoint. I loved everyone's character, for once there was no one STUPID in a Kdrama.
Can someone please tell me some similar dramas and movies? I'm unable to find any good recommendation online.
Well I don't really know any other demon-related stuff but something that's much lighter and funnier is The Master's Sun. Which is about a woman who sees ghosts. There're also Voice, which Choi Yoon/Matthew (Kim Jae Wook) acted in, but it's not ghost related, it's about a psychopath. Also, Voice 2 is out this year. And then there's Save Me which also isn't demon related, but it's about some messed up religious cult. If you're looking for a real demon hunting show, check out the American series Supernatural. It's got exactly what you're looking for and the demon hunting duo are 2 pretty hot brothers.
Kim Jae Wook (who played Mo Tae Goo, the psychopath in Voice) also said he had some difficulties while playing his character and stated he wasn't planing on playing another villain role because of how his character affected him. And Seo Ye Ji (who played Im Sang Mi in Save Me) went into method acting and actually became depressed either while acting, or right after she finished acting for the drama. Some of these actors and actresses go through a hell of a lot to put on a good performance and it all pays off because they always impress.
For me the best siblings (not blood related but stayed as twins) were Oh Ri Jin and Oh Ri On. Though they were…
Oh Ri Jin would’ve made the best siblings if they really were twins. I loved their dynamic throughout the show and honestly hoped that they did turn out to be blood related. T_T
Everyone complained about the ending of this drama but WHY? What Yu Hai did made absolute sense. Right from their first encounter, he put Geng Geng before himself, so when he realised he’d practically hit rock bottom while Geng Geng was making something of herself, his selfless side took over. He didn’t want to drag her down with himself because he suddenly had so many responsiblities while she had non. Why make her go through so much crap with himself when he could just leave her out of it and let her go on with life? I absolutely loved his character right till the very last moment. He was one of the realest male leads you’ll encounter in dramaland and I honestly wish I knew someone like him in real life because he has such a big heart.
And because he put her first, because he was selfless and he took a step back, even after 10 years, even after just quietly watching how she was doing, and quietly suffering all alone, he STILL got the girl. I think it was a beautiful ending and I’m SO glad it ended like that, because we were shown that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
I think a wrist grab when the girl is about to walk away is fine, unless it's followed by just intense staring and no words. Like, you just stopped my girl to have a look at her face or you gonna start talking..? But I can't stand it when they grab the girl and start walking away, dragging the girl behind them. You wouldn't appreciate it if someone did it to you so why do it to them?
I started this with low expectations based on some reviews, but damn did I fall deep in love with this drama.
First of all, don’t binge watch this at night, when your emotions are heightened, otherwise you’ll end up like me, crying for 8 episodes straight (I literally started crying from ep 4 and onwards).
This drama isn’t just about love, it’s more than that. It’s about acceptance and self-love. It’s about family and friendship bonds, ugh this is just a beautiful masterpiece. ????
I completely fell in love with Haruma here. His acting was 11/10. I bawled my eyes out whenever he cried. The chemistry between the leads was spectacular and I was actually very happy to know that Mikako Tabe was playing his love interest, because I’ve seen them playing the leads in Kimi Ni Todoke as well, which I really loved. I just wish she had more facial expressions. Whenever she wasn’t smiling/laughing, she only had one expression.
Also, Shunsuke Kazama was great in this too. I cried whenever he cried, especially when he told Takuto not to die. ????
All in all great drama. The soundtracks for this were also good. ????????????????
Everyone's pissed at how the main lead acted at first but not many people are talking about how disgusting of a person the second lead was. Yes, the main lead was a jerk at first, but he grew up with a bitch for a mother, and a father who didn't acknowledge him. In fact, for over 30 years his father knew he had a son but didn't turn to look at him even once. Then you have someone who enters his life and reveals that she gave birth to his child 5 years ago. So now he's suddenly become a dad and the girl won't explain why she hid the child all this time, or why she didn't just say anything, no matter how much he asks. He had it rough, of course he was going to be cold and harsh. He experienced a shit ton, and that's how he was raised by his crappy mother, to be cruel and uncaring. But at least that was his only trait, which he fixed pretty soon because he began to do everything for his son that he hadn't experienced from his own father. And he learnt how to love, and fell in love with the girl.
But the second lead lied, used and manipulated people just for revenge on the main guy (who is his half-brother). He acted innocent and pure, and got the main girl to be good friends with him, only to drug her, almost rape her, pretend to be in a coma, try and put the main guy behind bars for attempting to kill him, and then get away with it all. He treated his half-brother like crap for 30 years and claimed that he ruined his life when he had his father by his side all the time, while his half-brother, the main guy got to where he was with no support, got to where he was by doing everything from scratch and on his own, and practically didn't even have a dad because he never acknowledged him.
Either way, the main guy had the only character development throughout the show. Don't even get me started on the not-stupid-but-innocent-and-kind-hearted main girl. She was just plain stupid at times. The main guy trusted her when they were together but she just lied to him.
I probably sound crazy and immoral for saying this but gosh throughout the movie I just wanted to hold him, hug him, and tell him I love him. I've never had so much sympathy for a killer/monster as I've had for him. Even with his disgusting ways of killing people, sometimes just as bad as Mo Tae Gu from Voice, I still wanted someone to just run over and hug him. All in all, perfect acting throughout from all the cast. P.S: He wore all black throughout the movie and I couldn't have asked for more because damn it Lee Min Ki, with that outfit and that hairstyle you were one hot-ass villain.
