Why can't they just give him a main lead role T_T I was so excited to watch Born Again thinking he would be the main lead and the writers screwed it uppppp
I really hope Son Ho Jun is the main lead. I just finished Go Back Couple and I have a major crush on him because of his acting and his chemistry with Jang Nara T_T
I just want to say, this is one of those dramas were quite a number of people got second lead syndrome, but it's also one of those dramas where even if you have the biggest second lead syndrome, you just CAN'T bring yourself to hate/dislike the main lead in any way because he's just so good.
Is this worth watching?? I've watched 1997 a long time ago, and I just finished 1988. So far, 1988 has become…
I actually preferred this much more than Reply 1988. Reply 1988 has the highest viewer ratings out of the Reply series but it wasn't the best for everyone, including me. 1988 touched up on family, friendship, romance etc, but finished with a few plot holes, and just gave me such an empty feeling. Reply 1994 touched up on all those aspects too, but there weren't plot holes or unanswered questions, and the finale of 1994 will leave you with a big smile because it brings everything together for one last time (which was missing in the finale of 1988 hence why I felt so empty after feeling like I was part of the friendship group and the family between them).
Although 1994 got a little draggy for a couple of episodes, I found 1988 sooo much more dragging, I just remember skipping so much in the Reply 1988 episodes, especially since the episodes were so long. Also the whole 'husband mystery' was laid out until the last couple of episodes in 1988, but around half way through 1994 you can be sure who the husband is without feeling paranoid that the ship might suddenly change. Reply 1988 had the highest ratings in Korea out of the Reply series, but 1994 was second place, which I think is really good. It premiered with only 2.6% viewership but achieved a peak rating of 11.5% on its finale.
I haven't said anything about 1997 because I watched that in like 2012 so I honestly don't remember much other than the 'frog down the pants' thing that the main lead was so afraid of.
And my comment was helllllla long but I just wanted to tell you not to hesitate, the drama might actually exceed your expectations the way it did for me. I put off 1994 for YEARS because I thought the cast weren't suitable for the drama (whatever the hell that means), but boy was I wrong! I started the show with little expectations but left the show placing it as one of the best dramas I've seen.
Saw him in Sad Love Story back in like 2008/2009, and I absolutely HATED him because his character was such an a**hole. Just finished Reply 1994 and I absolutely FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM because his character was so adorable. He has so much range when it comes to portraying different characters.
He can show you everything that he feels in that split second without even needing to try hard, because he's such a great actor. His acting is so raw and real, and his chemistry with Go Ara in Reply 1994 was so real I honestly thought they might have been dating, until I found out that he's married.
I know he's doing lots of movies, but I hope he gets more male roles in dramas. This guy can play everything from a hateful gangster to the adorable older brother that knows exactly how to melt your heart.
Dude, Sun Ho asked hye young several time if he love jo jo. but hye young didnt confess it.So if sun oh kiss her,…
This is a stupid excuse that all SunJo shippers use to justify Sun Oh’s selfishness. “Sun Oh asked Hye Yeong several times if he likes Jojo, but Hye Yeong said no so Sun Oh wasn’t being selfish.” What about when SO told HY to go and confess, but HY said she has a boyfriend? What about when HY told SO that he won’t like Jojo because SO likes her? What about when SO promised that they’d both ring their love alarms around Jojo at the same time so that they could both confess to her? What about 4 years later when SO’s driver asked SO if he’d ever met any of HY’s crushes, and SO immediately thought of Jojo? HE.KNEW.RIGHT.FROM.THE.START.THAT.HYE.YEONG.LIKES.JOJO. Actions speak louder than words, HY denied his crush out of respect because Jojo had a boyfriend at the time, but it was obvious that he liked Jojo. SO could see that right from the first episode when he saw HY smiling at Jojo at the bus stop.
In response to your second bit, first of all, I would get rid of such a selfish and disrespectful best friend in the the first place so that I don’t have to deal with their bullshit 4 years later.
You say SO and Jojo and are a good match but no body actually knows how they fell for each other? What caused them to fall in love in the first place? Oh right, SO knew his best friend liked her, so he decided to be an ass and go up to her, took her in an alley, says to her ‘why isn’t your love alarm ringing? I know you love me.’ And then proceeds to kiss her. Jojo kisses him back despite having a boyfriend. Yeah, that’s how they fell in love.
“Don’t ruin it.” Lol what am I? The screenwriter? The director? If my opinion ruins your experience of the show, you shouldn’t be reading the comments.
I liked this drama a lot but man, it was frustrating too! I'm honestly confused as to why Sun Oh fell for Jojo...…
For real Sun Oh was just an asshole for most of the show and everyone just..puts up with it. Honestly I was so satisfied when Jojo’s ex boyfriend beat him up XD
first of all this went quite well with the high school romance thing. Tbh the concept's really good and unique…
Lmao what are you talking about? Jung Garam (2nd lead) is the more manly/masculine/handsome guy out of the 2. Song Kang (Male lead) is known as the pretty boy, the slightly feminine/flower boy lead. You've got it all mixed up. Besides, why is the look of the second lead one of your main problems? If you’re going to watch a drama for visuals, no offence but you need to grow up. Besides, the 2nd lead actually had more character depth and development than the male lead. Why? Because in the webtoon, the second lead is actually the main lead. So one thing the drama can’t change is the 2nd leads character depth even if they make the whole show about Sun Oh.
Episode 15 proved that Min Jung is the most selfless person in the show and if you disagree, you're lying to yourself.
It also shows that Gang Hwa is an actual jerk because he was ready to let her go in a heartbeat without giving a second thought to her, her feelings or her position.
I want MJ to divorce him too!?! a lot of people are hoping they work it out but.. how can they? they had chemistry…
Honestly why does Yuri deserve a second chance? It’s not like her death was anything special, thousands of people have been in her position. You say she didn’t deserve to die but she’s the one who chose death to save her kid. At least she had a choice in dying or not. The exorcist said that the baseball player didn’t commit suicide and actually had the saddest and most painful death among the people there that had died. It’s people like that baseball player who really deserve a second chance.
I completely agree with you...I feel bad for MJ too...she not only wasted her years in the marriage but also the…
Exactly. From the start, the epilogues, prologues and dialogues have been about treasuring time you have on earth and not worrying about stupid things. It tells you how your family will be upset after your death but everyone moves on and things naturally change with time. Isn't this all indication of Yuri's death? Wouldn't it be stupid to keep Yuri alive and basically say 'oh but you may also come back to life so it's all good' ??

Suspicion/doubt is a dangerous and scary thing.

Yuri could have chosen to live.
