I love her. Saw her only in 2 dramas so far so i don't find her repetitive. It happens to me sometimes that i…
Lighter & Princess but if you want a different style of character then Fall in love is my absolute favorite of hers. Actually that was my first show of hers and after that I've always enjoyed her work.
Did you see the scene with the hug and the broken thermometer yet?
Yes absolutely, the character development of Tu Li was great as she learned to see how open hearted & kind the Yi Jing couple is. The look on Chen Yi's face when he felt proud was so well executed! I really hope SWL get an award for this performance
The ones who take up residence in our hearts makes it so hard to move on. I am hooked on Chen Yi's love for Jing.…
I’m sorry, you lost me at “Chen Yi is the wild dog.” 😂 Umm… okay, I agree with everything you said, but my brain has clearly chosen to focus on the wild dog being starved. It immediately took a very inappropriate detour, and now all I can picture is that wild dog finally getting his prized possession and doing a whole lot of licking and beyond. 🤭🔥😂
I absolutely adore both Song Weilong & Zhang Linghe. Would love to see a show of them where they are either best friends or brothers and have their own love interests. Oh My My what a scrumptious Feast for the eyes that would be
Soon. The drama doesn't tell us everything straight out. For example, the scene where he hugged her from behind…
May I jump in please 😂 Grrrr, a second watch will give you SO much to discover! 😂❤️
Pay attention to how early this bond began. Chen Yi pulled Miao Jing out of the water when he was barely more than a child himself, and later, she nursed him back to health with her soup. They were too young to have a name for what they were. They simply became each other’s person.
And remember the scene at school when someone called Miao Jing simply his “sister”? Look at what Chen Yi did afterward. He arranged for a whole bunch of girls to pose as his sisters. Meaning? If everyone is your sister, then no one is. 😂 The only person’s feelings that truly mattered to him were Miao Jing’s.
The tragedy is that Chen Yi loved her so deeply that he became terrified of loving her. After watching the police uncle lose his fiancée, he became convinced that he had no right to be part of a cop’s family. If he couldn’t save her, how could he ever protect Miao Jing? So he decided that loving her meant sacrificing himself and giving her the future he believed he could never have.
Then came the years in the underworld. He survived, but he came back carrying even more guilt and darkness. And yet, he was so starved for Miao Jing that he secretly went to see her at college. He watched her playing tennis, laughing, and living her life. And instead of going to her, he told himself that their paths should never cross again. He wanted her to have the bright future he believed he could never give her.
I think this is what makes their reunion so confusing for some viewers. Why do they come back together and still act so distant?
Because Miao Jing had every right to be angry. He had made this enormous decision for both of them without giving her a choice. And Chen Yi was still trapped in the belief that he was protecting her by keeping her away.
Their story after her return isn’t about two people falling in love for the first time. It’s about Miao Jing slowly breaking through the walls of a man who has spent years believing that loving her means losing her.
She refuses to let him decide that his life is over. She refuses to accept that his sacrifices mean they cannot have a future. She makes him see the worth of what they have—and, eventually, the worth of himself.
That’s why I think Miao Jing is so important to Chen Yi’s healing. He spent years trying to save her by removing himself from her life. She comes back and teaches him that she doesn’t need to be saved from him. She needs him to finally trust her enough to let her choose him.
And that’s when they finally begin to become a couple—not because the love suddenly appears, but because Chen Yi finally becomes brave enough to stop running from a love that has been there all along. ❤️
Song Wei Long: I wonder if there’s some kind of point system where you get negative points for being this handsome, this talented, blessed with flawless acting skills and an absolutely melodic singing voice. Because surely there must be consequences for throwing everyone else off the curve and single-handedly resetting the heat index. After all, so many people are deprived of their free will and have no choice but to waste hours staring at you.
I wonder if the police might come after you one day and say, “Sir, this level of talent and beauty is considered illegal. It intoxicates people, and unfortunately, we have yet to find a cure.” 🤣🤣
Yes. There is a certain fandom that hates SWL. I bet they downvoted this also. But some viewers were not happy…
Wait, can there really be a human being who doesn’t like SWL? 😂 He’s the one actor where even some of the guys around me have asked, “Oh, which country is he from?” Then, after a little assessment: “Hmm… not bad. I guess he can act. And hmm… looks like this dude can actually fight—or at least pretend to fight pretty convincingly!” 🤣😆
They made the drama "cleaner" based on Chinese censorship and I am so glad. A friend shared some details…
Thank Heavens I read one of your old comments and then had zero desire to read the novel. I'm so thankful to the writers who took inspiration from the novel but never executed it in its original form.

Yes indeed, you are spot on. 🥺 From the world’s point of view, their relationship was toxic—something poisonous that had to be contained. But I also saw the mercury coming back together as symbolic of them finally choosing to face that toxicity together rather than letting it keep them apart.
Chen Yi had spent so long trying to protect Miao Jing from everyone, including himself. She was so precious to him that he was willing to sacrifice his own happiness to save her from the consequences of loving him. But now, he no longer wanted to deny her happiness—or his own. He was finally ready to stop running from their love and face the “poison” together. ❤️
I think I might become like you soon…..when I finish the last episodes……..I’m almost there! 🥺🥺 So…
Lucky you! Take your time and savor those last episodes… but just know, once you reach the end, there’s no escaping. We'll be waiting for you on the other side! ❤️
I’m on episode 20, and MJ says that CY is already her “boyfriend.” When did they actually start dating?…
There was technically never a time (after coming of age) that they weren't a couple. This drama is not executed like others. In order to enjoy the depth of their relationship, one has to read between the lines. Even a simple scene of them talking about work / office will tell you so much about their relationship.
