I'm so fed up with these endless love triangles, where the second male lead is always this passive, kind servant-type, and the heroine treats him like some kind of saint! It feels like it's deliberately written this way just so that, 30 years into a marriage, during a fight, the woman can shout: 'Why did I even marry you, when I had a whole line of amazing men waiting for me?' It often feels like a character's worth is defined solely by how many people are in love with them — like it’s all just a tool for narcissistic validation. (As a female viewer, honestly, it’s kind of sad how often this happens.) As if being loved by several people automatically makes you valuable. Are there really no other ways to show a character’s worth than through being desired?
I find this series very dynamic and well-balanced, with a lot going on. I really like the director too (not to mention the cast !). Compared to the much-loved drama Alchemy of Souls S1, which I keep trying to watch all the way through—but honestly, the monotony and overly simplistic dialogues literally put me to sleep. (Please don’t throw tomatoes at me! lol here can't wait for next week!
I think it will happen like this: without realizing that it is through sacrifice that he becomes the dragon, he will sacrifice himself out of love for E-Ri, and at that moment, he will transform into the dragon. However, during this transformation, he will choose to remain in Yoon Gap’s body in order to enjoy simple human happiness (love, family, and other feelings), rather than becoming an all-powerful deity. Thus, thanks to love, he will find the path, but also thanks to love, he will renounce the desire for omnipotence. The soul of the real Yoon Gap will be saved, but he will not be able to return to his body, and he will accept that (perhaps there will be a spiritual encounter with E-Ri). Haha, don’t laugh, I rewrote the story..
perfect drama -Scenario, dynamism, the duo, and above all, I love the ML — he is perfecttt! The way his character is written and how he acts... let's go for the next episodes!
Dear all - I am convinced that if someone is a globally beloved superstar, it means they certainly have something more than an ordinary person. Whether it's talent, personality, charisma, originality, presence, perhaps all of these together which makes them a legend in that case, it becomes part of history. There will be few of these individuals, as society's phenomenon may last only a few years, especially with the added competition...
time often reveals the true value of a talent. While initial success can come quickly, it's over time that the lasting impact and significance of a person's talent truly become evident. Some talents might shine brightly but fade, while others grow and evolve, gaining recognition and admiration as they stand the test of time. Ultimately, enduring influence and longevity are often key indicators of genuine talent.
Over time, we can see who truly stays in our memories. These are the individuals whose impact goes beyond the moment—those whose work or presence continues to resonate, even years or decades later. It's not just about fame or recognition in the short term; it's about creating something that leaves a lasting impression, whether through their talent, their character, or the way they touched people’s lives. The true measure of significance is often how they remain relevant in our minds long after the world has moved on.
Episode 9 moves into the development/resolution in plot for Su Jeong's arc. We’ll see the evolution of her character—she finally admits that ML was right: [SPOILER] ****"You need to leave the past behind and learn to love again in the present."* The main character said this in the context of the song, but the meaning is the same. Episodes 10-11 resolve the story of Joo Yeon and her grandmother arc resolution, after which everything comes to an end... [SPOILER off] ****
Of course, in this case, the writer chooses the most classic script . this plot is obvious to anyone—Our Nostradamus spirit can take a break! 😆 But it’s still pleasant to watch.
I really liked the scene at 15:54—such a great nod to *Twinkling Watermelon* with the sign language...! Apart from clichés, this show combines so many elements from different dramas.
Really interesting so far! I'm really exited to see what is gonna happen next since I have no clue. I just hope…
We don't know yet because we still see spring here... Will the winter be harsh? Maybe. The message will; remain strong , willpower in all circumstances, and if you decide something, own it until the end without regret
Aside from the fact that I’ve noted in my review that the series is amazinggggg, etc., I also wanted to mention the OST here. The music with traditional elements is simply genius, both at the opening and throughout the series. And the song by Chu Da Hye (this singer was such a find for me) FOLK song in a retro-disco is just incredibly ! cool, I absolutely adore it! And I also loved the very touching and intimate performance by Bo Gum of the song at the end of episode 4!
This is another level! The serie's opening music is simply stunning, and the cinematography is flawless. The first episode is so touching—the mother is incredibly warm-hearted, and I was deeply moved. (There are some similarities with *Samda-ri*...) All the actors deliver perfect performances. For me, it feels like a true journey through time. Bravo to the director, screenwriter, set designers, and actors!
Lmao what..he hasn't been in 1 big hit except reply 98
I don't think it's a flop, especially internationally but I’m not debating this point. Because I don't care about the success of a film (I've always said, I'm not the one making money from that success). What matters to me is whether a work that I spend my time watching gives me emotional satisfaction, educates me, or makes me dream or travel. That's what counts for me. my own experience as a viewer
BUT For an artist in our era, if they want to stay on top, they need to do both – achieve Hit works and try quality projets. Because I understand that without success, producers won’t trust or invest money, etc. We have the power to support or not support an artistic project.
what I can discuss is the diversity of his projects and the artistic values compared to many other K-dramas :)
Park Bo Gum understands art; he is a true artist and not only star actor. He makes good choices every time for his projects : with each project offering something unique, whether it's commercial or artistic serie, all series bringing fresh and innovative elements every time. I can compare with Ryan Gosling – Like Park Bo Gum, Ryan Gosling is known for choosing roles that show a deep range, from romantic comedies , arty or blokbusters to more serious, dramatic roles.
I’m very happy with episode 18! It’s a calming and sleep-inducing drama, like essential oil... But what will happen next? For me, the series ended on a happy note in episode 18 :)) Just a few issues with the guy and his father, I don’t see any other problems, haha... green light!! Maybe the goal will be to give us a traditional medicine diploma?
The series is based on clichés we all know, and it's funny :)) EP6 Nevertheless, it's well executed. The characters are well thought out, and the whole idea is centered on the character (who is also a fresh character) with great dynamics and a very attractive cast. The girl perfectly complements the guy. So far, I really like this series.
Choi Hyun Wook brilliantly portrays his roles: from the energetic bad boy to the baby/boss and a man who wants to be confident and narcissistic, as a CEO should be (He imitates with cliches all the narcissistic SEOs we know in successful K-Dramas that's fun), but at the same time, he's responsible and mature. Choi Hyun Wook really understood his character and makes him incredibly attractive. He's a person with a big heart who opens it fully when he loves. He's also a perfectionist with wounds that have given him the drive for freedom (rock as a symbol of freedom), the desire to regain his lost childhood, and enjoy life. He has locked himself in his world.
Mungah Yeong complements him beautifully, they are even somewhat similar. She respects the guy's tastes and wants to understand his hobbies. She has a decisive character, rational, combative, and often biased. But She doesn't listen to her heart; she's rational, which often leads to her seriously hurting others. It's precisely her combative quality that our boy likes.
The music is amazing, I really enjoy both rock and the violin inserts, as well as other subtle sounds reminiscent of video game music. I also like the character design in the webtoon/cartoon style in the production and staging.
As for the downsides, the over-exaggeration of the evil grandmother is a bit much, I'm not fond of the supporting actor SML, and the excessive product placement ads are a intrusive. And at 30, having your first kiss as a man is utopian, and it's in every drama...
