To be fair, it would be weird if your story was only a romance
True but it doesn't mean that the outcome is good though. I can't think of a successful movie or drama that has so many genres. It's just my opinion of the drama so far anyway, it may change over time.
its a mystery. there is no romance so far. if you're talking about the main couple, they act like a normal married…
There is certainly romance between the male lead and Mirae. Not to mention any potential romance the writers are pushing random characters towards. How is it political? The male lead is running for a seat as a congressman and it's not merely mentioned, in each episode they would update us with his progress in the political field. About the exaggeration, that one scene is kinda absurd, don't you think? Also there's the male lead who is mesmerized by her looks, had to run to avoid being tempted by her, and even recognized her when she was wearing a diving suit with head cover and goggles, his friend who was in disbelief of how pretty she looks that he had to say it out loud to himself just as she left, and the guy in the yellow car who had asked her 47 times, got rejected each time, and plans to ask her out again.
To be fair, it would be weird if your story was only a romance
Yes, but usually a good drama has at most 3 genres, not all genres together. This one would've been much better if it was focused on the mystery/thriller but it's equally focusing on all other genres.
This drama is all over the place. Is it a comedy? Is it a romance? Is is a drama? Is it a thriller? Is it political? Is it revenge? Is it action? Is it crime? Is it investigation? Having all these genres in one drama is a bit confusing to me. Also, every time the male lead goes anywhere the student coincidentally is there. That hardly ever happens in real life, and it's kinda annoying. That and the attention the student draws everywhere she goes. It's ridiculous, even when she is wearing hideous cloths and having messy hair. It's not like she isn't pretty, but she isn't that pretty (I mean to a point where it's impossible for her to go on her daily life without turning all heads). The female lead and the undercover special agent are very pretty but they don't draw this much attention. Even Hong Soo Hyun's character who is remarkably pretty and famous didn't have this much attention. So what's the deciding factor? I don't know, and I don't know why I find this annoying, but I do. It's like when they try to convince you that a character is ugly when the actress playing that part is beautiful. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
i really hope that they dont end up together the husband and wife.. she deserves better
Does she though? I think they kinda deserve each other. Both of them have serious problems they need to work on. She knew what she was getting into, and I think she kinda wishes he would cheat on her so she can start the revenge plan. She is so fascinated with murder in a sick way. She may have only accepted his proposal so that she could have a reason to kill someone.
This seems very promising. I love Hwang Jeong Min, Kim Won Hae and Park Ho San, and the plot is quite interesting. I have my doubts about Yuna though because I don't seem to like her acting, but hopefully I will at least not find it distracting in this one.
Just finished ep 197. I'm so glad Lee Yeon Bok said Sun Young is prettier than Jin Young. I totally agree with…
I agree with you. I thought her family was obnoxious about her weight, it bothered me so much. It seemed like it was the only thing they can see when they look at her. I felt bad she has to go through all of this, with the way they look at her whenever she eats, and her mother always bragging about how pretty her other daughter is even though she is basically praising her plastic surgeon, and complaining about how overweight Sun Young is. It was really uncomfortable for me to watch. I skip their part mostly because of that.
Asking for spoilers: love triangle? Happy ending? Details please!
Unless it happened at the very end of the drama, I don't think one of the main characters dies, but if you don't mean a main character by an important person, the drama starts with a very sad death to an important person, but not a main characters.
Just watched episodes 476/477, and in my opinion Kang Hanna is one of the overrated guest members. So annoying.
I didn't like that whole recurring guests lineup. I'm glad they don't show up as often anymore. I'm like "ugh this person again!" each time one of them appears.
One episode in and I like how the female lead is. I'm currently watching this and Alice which both have supposedly smart female leads, but Alice's is quite dumb with a degree in Physics and "work" that we only hear of, but never see her do. This one obviously does things and is quite clever, she is like a female version of Sherlock Holmes.
I believe it's more of a Netflix thing than anything else. They themselves don't produce shows that exceed 10…
This is true except for the fact that Strangers from Hell isn't produced by Netflix. It's produced by a Naver subsidiary and was first broadcasted on OCN. Netflix just like to mark every show they buy as a Netflix original for some reason. In addition to your reasoning, I think they are mostly being "careful" with their production costs, so instead of paying for 16 episodes while not sure about the number of viewers who would be interested, they divide shows into seasons with less episodes, all with a conclusion but with the possibility of a sequel or a prequel, and they would only green-light the production of the next season if the previous one was successful.
In episode 519 ..both Haha and Somin were sooo obvious right from the beginning ..especially Haha ??
I thought Somin was more obvious with her actions. Haha's facial expressions gave him away, but Somin was almost confessing she was the thief. When they first accused her, she kept making excuses without needing to, which practically gave her identity away, but she could've tried to stay low so they can forget about her, instead she gave up on the game and expressed to everyone when they were talking about how criminals are safe when they are next to Jong Kook that she wanted to go sit next to him for protection which is something only a criminal would need, then she cursed loudly expressing anger when he refused, then she actually said "I'm the thief, put me on the stage".
hey guys, I just finished episode 520 and I was a little disappointed! I'm Brazilian and I can tell you that wasn't…
I'm not an expert on dancing and I'm not really into it, but as a viewer with zero knowledge about it, I just assumed they were trying to simplify dances for the members since they only had one hour and they were all beginners.
i still think it’s wrong for do hae soo not to be held accountable for murdering the village head... i dare…
It was in self-defense though. If they were going to prosecute her fairly, she would've walked away unpunished anyway. Those who are close to her know that, but they are trying to protect her since they don't believe in the system, and there's no proof that he attacked her first.
My understanding of a love triangle was that it has two people who are interested in each other and one other person who is interested in one of them, but I just googled the term and you are right, but they usually say that the drama has a love triangle even if the person who is in the relationship isn't interested in the one outside it, which is why I got confused. I just call what you call a love triangle "cheating" or an "affair" :p
