Very tough to watch. I had to disassociate and psych myself into believing that it's a dystopian drama that could never happen in real life in order to finish the first episode. Only a psychopath would find this easy to watch.
I watched this awhile ago for Yoon Eun Hye. To be honest, the male lead and the weak plot ruined it for me. I couldn't imagine a world where Chun Jung Myung would be popular with women. Yoon Eun Hye was great as usual and Han Go Eun was a hidden gem. P.O also was unexpectedly great.
Yeah, sometimes I even watch it at 2x or 3x speed. New Korean dramas tend to be really slow-paced.But it’s funny.…
I don't know why they chose to show the same reaction multiple times for different people. I think I would've chosen to show different reactions for the same food based on the character's personality if I was the director. It's basically the same reaction with a different actor doing it. Why would anybody want to see it multiple times?
If anyone is wondering why they were chasing a thief in the 4th episode. It is because Koreans call food that goes very well with rice so much so that you keep eating it a bapdoduk which translates to a rice thief.

I watched the second episode at 1.5x and it felt like the regular speed, especially the refreshed reactions everyone had when they were trying the soup. I wonder how long it lasted if it was that long at 1.5x speed. LOL It is getting better now. I don't usually drop dramas without trying to speed them up for a few episodes. I like the concept, but him cooking only one meal per episode is kind of disappointing.
I'm on the first episode, and I think it's slower than I expected. Not sure if it will pick up the pace in the next episodes or if I should watch it on 1.5x speed.
They did the same with KS and Sunbin back in the day. It's the way the show is.
They hardly ever mentioned his girlfriend in Running Man. To me, it's about the same level as JongKook/EunHye, and they were both in the same show, so it was understandable at that time, but JongKook hated it after the show has already ended. Their "alleged" relationship was already over when they were still teasing him about it, which was also distasteful. They only stopped when people figured out it was "probably" true. Then there was the distasteful mentioning of Chaeyeon when he announced his marriage to a person they didn't know., which I thought was disrespectful to his fiancé.
Just because it happens often, doesn't mean it's okay. They pull adult people's pants often too.
I was surprised there were polarized reactions to this drama. I thought you would either like it or think it's not bad but not that good. Then I realized that most of the humor is tailored toward millennials+, so it made a lot of sense that many people would hate it or find it boring.
For example, in the 1st episode, the rain scene was funny to me only because it pays homage to the '90s film Nowhere to Hide, where they have a fight in the rain. In the 4th episode, there's a scene where someone crawls to hide from another person, only to be dragged back. Without revealing too much, this scene pays homage to the old style of directing action movies, like A Better Tomorrow and similar films, especially with the accompanying music. It's hilarious to me for that reason.
They do other types of jokes too, but they're all the kind of jokes usually enjoyed by "old fossils" like me. Not to say there aren't old souls who find this hilarious too.
There are lots of goofs that don’t really make sense. It feels like they are forcing cute moments to happen while ignoring logic. It’s still pretty entertaining regardless.
That said, I find myself mainly interested in the relationship between the main couple. The female lead’s solo scenes and the scenes of other characters are kind of boring. The male lead’s solo scenes are usually more interesting, but mostly because he’s thinking about the female lead most of the time so it can be quite cute or funny.
Sometimes Seori’s tone and body language make her seem like a grandma. I know she’s from the past but she…
I don't want to be the one stating the obvious if you already know, but she is talking like a Joseon person of her age and past status, not like a grandma. It's totally different. The weird thing is people not finding her way of speech weird. I don't mean the people who know she is acting in a historical drama like the woman at the reception, because she might've thought it was "method acting", but this is not how a typical modern day person talks, it is how a Joseon woman of her age and past high status would talk mixed with some of the modern "accent", but no one is asking her why she is doing that.
It is bad if you figure out the ending early on. I did, and it was so boring for me afterwards, and I'm talking…
I could say the same about you, but I would rather have a taste that "sucks" in your opinion than have an argument that sucks like yours. I have the privilege of understanding that people with different tastes, that I don't necessarily agree with, exist. It comes with maturity.
Manager kim was a suitable title, now this looks like a dramatic anime title. Mdl should follow the official title…
There is an older drama with the same name. That might be why they changed it. It would be a bummer if people ignored it thinking it's the same drama. It's a good idea to change it, even though the new title wasn't really a good second choice.
I can tell by the first episode that this is going to be awesome. Totally my style. I love the comedy and the action. It matches my sense of humor perfectly. I was sold on the action from the first action scene, and I was sold on the comedy the moment Oh Jong Se woke up after the hypnosis. Hilarious.
Just now reading a post that name Kim Sol Ma as the new PD starting this upcoming episode. A man PD had been cnosen…
I think Jeon Somin was scheduled to appear as a guest sometime before he joined. The current PD is the one who is responsible for inviting her back as a guest. She is appearing to promote her next project. Not really the PD's idea, more like a PR decision that was done by her project's team.
