Another reason that she doesn't get praised much is although she's the female lead, the drama centers more on…
He's truly good in those scenes, the first few episodes specifically. Only that when we've reached I guess around episode 5 where Eun Gi is so in love with him, that I wish SJK dropped some hints on Maru's love for her too. But the tunnel scene is crazy and I love the change in his facial expressions. Afterwards, I was mostly impressed with Moon Chae Won who's acting very real –vulnerable, full of sincerity and yet still has the prideful character of Eun Gi. But they're both really good, and my attention was brought back to most of his acting close to the end. Park Si Yeon is also spectacular in her role; I really liked the scene where Maru and Hae Jee were having a sincere and heavy conversation in episode 19.
This is definitely not bad but I felt like it attracted different audiences here that are looking for something serious and spectacular, even the reviews I feel like didn't pass the vibe check. Suggestion for someone who might accidentally stumble this page – it's typical and with dark storyline that kdramas seem to force this days BUT it's also fun, heartwarming and sweet! Def full of good vibes (except some parts close to end) but honestly it's been too good and sweet the prev episodes that I'm willing to forgive it.
And YES THEY WILL DRINK ALCOHOL...as it centers their drinking culture.
I highly suggest you watch The Princess Man, it was the drama that made audiences feel she's excellent in melodramas.…
I am truly guilty of this...I've wanted to watch this but sadly it's not available on streaming platforms. Maybe when I got a huge vacation leaves I'll watch this on drama streaming sites, as I'm a bit lazy these days to open my laptop.
But I've watched clips of it and I agree!!
Nevertheless, Flower of Evil is still a magnificent show that absolutely due for a rewatch as everyone devoured their roles and the storyline is terrific.
Another reason that she doesn't get praised much is although she's the female lead, the drama centers more on…
I agree on that...but on my 2nd rewatch, I'm finding Song Joong Ki a bit hard to read in the early episodes (in a way where I feel like he wasn't able to provide micro expressions sometimes) and maybe that's one of the reasons my whole focus shifted to Moon Chae Won's character as she kept on filling the emotions. But they're both excellent! Agree that Song Joong Ki's much popular due to DOTS – but I also think that The Innocent Man was a breakthrough role that allowed him to star in DOTS.
Ps: on my 1st watch (forgive me as I was a teen back then, I was crushing hard on SJK so yeah maybe because most watchers are women – the spotlight always go to men)
haven't watch The Princess' Man yet...but aside Flower of Evil can we agree that The Innocent Man is at the top of her best performances, if not the top?! Like her realness, love and emotions were just exploding!
Before I forget – the first 5 episodes of this drama – Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won shined so much.
Afterwards up to the 15th episode – my girl Moon Chae Won eats this role and for me she shine more than all the actors. She gives so much heart and so much color to Seo Eun Gi. Her love, her sadness, her frustrations are huge and you can FEEL it!
For the remaining last episodes i feel like Song Joong Ki shined more. And Episode 19 – oh my heart, Song Joong Ki and Park Si Yeon's confrontation is so sad.
All in all – the three actors devoured. Also special shoutout to Lee Sang Yeob who has the "melo stare" and the "eyes".
Ps: I feel like the only reason Moon Chae Won doesn't get praise as much as Song Joong Ki in this role is she played as a person who has amenisia in the 2nd half BUT she rules and people hate that plot – BUT she's good really good in this role.
this is def the type shit that 45 year old women in Korea used to watch when it was airing on tv
And 13 year old me did as well. It was pretty addicting. And I'm enjoying rewatching it right now at 25 – some things make better sense too and I just love watching their acting.
I'd rather not say anything nice about this drama. Is this the worst melodrama I've ever seen? Even if it isn't,…
the diss on other people liking the show was not needed.
it's makjang, and fictional – and while newer dramas have solid plot and a good amount of logic and realism – doesn't mean that this one is outright trash or bad. think about your words before you spit them. the acting was great, and no matter how illogical some / manh things have been when translated to real life doesn't mean others can't enjoy and immerse fully in it.
Rewatching it :D Man, I love Moon Chae Won so much. Her glare – I loved it. Her character's chemistry with Song Joong Ki's still amazing.
I kind of better understand some of the emotional narratives and crearive decisions that the writer has chosen.
In addition, hate this for the 2nd top reviewer who always write sensational reviews saying that Moon Chae Won is not just another "not-that-pretty" face – no, honey. She's gorgeous.
Be careful, there will be a spoiler for the ending! I was the only one who thought that the main character died…
Let some of us live in fairy tales haha. I'd be more than willing to believe on the literal interpretation of the ending where they truly met again. :) Maru lost his memory, then slowly got it back then Eun Gi finally left the company as her mother wanted and waited for Maru. :)
Anyway...this drama is makjang so we can throw away realism! After all, this drama is meant to get various emotions from viewers :D
finally finished the last episode, all the memory loss issh was so unnecessary!!
It was a gift to Hyunsoo in order for him to accept himself without the pretentious of being Baek Hee Seung. Anyway, please put it under spoilers. Someone who still haven't watch it might see. Thanks.
Okay guys finished it finally! And I must say it's been a sweet ride. Loved it. :) We can reduce all the dramatic…
Also...I liked the conversation between Seon-hwa and her mother in law. I've read it here before that she's acting like that because she herself believes that she's not enough for her husband (because of patriarchy) and the ending conversation with mother in law nailed that. Very nice message to send to everyone. :)
