That's really sad. Please keep reminding him that he doesn't need anything to be perfect as he is. Sadly this cultural mindset is in many cultures, even in the Caribbean. But, just because it's cultural, it doesn't mean it's right.

Man the subs on episode 6 on Viki have me crying laughing sometimes. Lol, oh to be black, thin and ugly. Lol, the lead literally says that. Every time I see that translated into subs in Asian dramas I just float away lol. Those beauty standards are so backwards it’s disturbing.
