I love how y’all in the comments are starting to notice what I called out at episode 26. I’ll finish this drama, but the pacing and writing is messshhyyy.
I'm a bit disappointed by this drama. It had a lot of potential, but it's really going nowhere. I'll finish until episode 40. But, realistically, it's a 7/10 for me. Nothing special about it, apart from the fact that two megastars lead it and it has an awesome supporting cast.
You're free to love and enjoy this drama. It has an excellent OST and pretty nice production quality. But, the story's pacing is off. The acting is off. The plot is meh. The bantering between the leads is sometimes spicy, and other times very cringe.
The drama focuses way too much on the male lead, who isn't as interesting as the female lead. She, unfortunately, just follows him around the drama, as if she's a supporting cast member.
The development between these two characters is way too slow, in my opinion, for a 40-episode drama. It's a slow burn, but not an enjoyable one for various reasons.
I think it's worth watching if you love supporting the actors in the cast (since a lot of them are amazing), and enjoy big-budget productions, but don't expect anything else from it.
I get the appeal of this drama but wowee is the pacing slow and plot very boring. Not my cup of tea, but there's definitely chemistry between the leads.
i hope they start slowing going back to be a full on wuxia and not so political
This drama isn't a wuxia lol. Those martial arts sequences are not it, but I get what you mean by enjoying the "fighting" element. This drama is more a romance with an annoying amount of court drama. The characters just happen to be good at "martial arts", if you count fan throwing and fabric swishing as fighting.
And I’ve seen better than this. There was so much potential.
