If we set aside that whole level of pettiness I had reserved for Gu Xun to chase YL after letting her know that he would chase her being disregarded, there was still that whole conflict of his dad being trashy and saying that he wished his mom would’ve aborted him that was completely changed. Will we even get any conflicts with his mom? I highly doubt it. So in the end we don’t get anything deep from him. He’s just this perfect guy. The reason why I liked the novel was that even though FL was pretty standard with no issues, we at least had a ML who had issues to work with.

It would make sense if this would happen and the ending wouldn’t change with ML killing crown prince and his wife, since they would’ve probably somehow killed HQ in this version of the story.

That would be ironic, because giving in to fans and changing the novel would already mean that she lost control of the novel

My reasoning to why things are not going as she thought they would is because when she wrote the novel, there were so many plot holes, so now the characters have the freedom to just fill them as they like
