I know JD behaves like a brat, and went too far with her antics today. I know KS & his MiL hold responsibility for the way JD has been raised without discipline or consequences and a sturdy diet of lies and delusions, but… if HR was a professional who actually prioritised her business, she wouldn’t have used the academy as a venue to win over one of her students in her plan to seduce a parent. She was the one who offered lessons to JD to help her get close to & see more of KS. She then used a competition to try to stay by JDs side at the academy so she could win brownie points and in hope of seeing more of KS. Whether his wife is gone or not, she knows he’s married & his intentions to stay that way. I personally would like to know if the director or staff at my child’s after school activities used the place as a dating opportunity and used the kids to further their advances. And if I found out it was happening, you bet I’d warn all the other parents. JDs act today may not have alerted SJ to the man hungry antics of HR at the academy, but it was the direct result of HR continuing to go after a still-married man, who is a parent of one of her students, while rubbing it in the noses of his family. If her academy suffers, it’s her fault. Besides she seemed more upset about being told KS sees her as a friend only than she did about losing her VVIP student.
Best thing about today’s episode was we only had to see Dong jr for a few seconds at the end. Almost like the afterthought he should be. Worst thing was having to see HR fake weak act in the office and her terrifying baby’s pageant bow sipping KS’s tea. (Special mention to the dancing noodle dads disgusting feet on the dining table- what a monster!)
Omg, Ep60 was trying to irritate me to death. Almost the whole episode was focused on brokeass SD & his date with Ding Dong. We got to see him polish his shoes on the dining room table like an untrained animal, attempt to steal $ from SS but settle for stealing coupons instead. Then follow him on his date/scam attempt to a park where he inevitably had to play the “left my wallet at home” card, only to take off after walking her back to the bakery because he saw MR was there and could expose all his lies. The rest of the episode was focused on HR, whining about JD & the in-laws getting in the way of her grand love story, then plotting again to win over JD with a tip from MR. She ended out the ep tussling with MiL over the $ she was trying to return (SD’s shoe money) & trading barbs about KS’s long gone wife. KS burst in all shaking after the envelope was torn & their hard earned money thrown all over the floor. The only other scenes were brief interludes; one in the HDF office with SS seeing JH receive a call from his lover, then JH answering a call from MR angrily thinking it was YJ (? are those her initials? I mean the gf). A quick scene of KS making a new porridge for the Chairman that he got cranky about & then MR popping into the Banchan store & the Bakery where she had an animated chat with her dad. I really need KS’s dads storyline to be over. He’s of no value to anyone on screen, to the story or to us viewers. In fact if I have to sit through another episode devoted to his nonsense, I may rage quit watching this! Haha, he’s that annoying. The preview of next weeks episodes looks a little more promising as there’s some MR/KS interaction (falling catch/hug/stunned faces), & looks like my boy JP comes to the Art Academy, so hopefully he helps soften JD’s sharp edges so she’s less reactive and angry all the time. Though I feel she’ll just continue to be like that until she meets her mum, gets heartbroken and finally accepts that her dad (& herself) needs to move on. Anyway, sorry to harp on about this, but I beg the universe that from now on there are less SD scenes. Please, please make him disappear & never return. I get a physical recoil reaction when a new scene starts and it’s his feet doing their little Cha Cha move.
Just finished watching episode 59. Where do I even start? I will start at the end for tomorrow’s preview. HR…
JP is the only one in this show who’s had any character growth. Everyone else is a huge disappointment so I guess he’ll be my favourite by default. His mother is a gossip with a nasty mouth but he seems to have a kinder heart than SJ. She seems like she married into the family because she was out of options. Maybe her family weren’t as wealthy or because she was past her prime, but it seems both her & her husband couldn’t find anyone better & settled. SJ definitely thinks she’s better than everyone else that’s for sure. The situation KS is in, with HR, his revolting dad, his in-laws, JD, are all of his own making. I used to feel bad for him being beaten down & used by everyone, but I can’t sympathise anymore. He not only allows for misunderstandings with his inability to communicate or stand up for himself, but he also actively encourages them. When HR was waiting outside his house he met her with a big smile and stood with her when the in-laws confronted her. Instead of setting his MIL straight inside, he hushes his dad and ushers him out of the room. It just seems like he wants to keep his relationship with HR secret. His behaviour is the reason HR thinks they’re star-crossed lovers fighting for acceptance as he lets her cling to him and refer to them as “we”. He never clarifies anything with anyone, just either nods or apologises. MR is meek as well, but she’s actively being played by a devious rat & has started speaking up when she sees people treated unfairly whereas KS chooses to be a doormat when it would actually be better for his daughter if he stood up for himself and told the truth more often. JD has been raised on nothing but lies and a lack of discipline.
That gift that HR thinks is so great that she is going to give JD is not age appropriate. You don’t give a teenage…
Without subs or understanding the dialogue, the gift does seem to miss the mark, but it’s meant to be a light stick and merch for JD’s favourite girl group, Pink Blue. Still a stupid move on HRs part to think she can bribe JD with some gifts to smooth her path to dating KS. The woman is as clueless as she is deranged.
Finally saw the English subs. HR was so fake with her crying. No tears and she immediatly stopped with the boohooing…
KS totally gave her the wrong idea by going to her house with the peaches and embracing her. He just gave her the fuel to keep pushing ahead. MR seems to be cheering her on too, encouraging her to keep trying to get closer with JD. Meanwhile MR is overjoyed to be spending time with her fiancé who is perpetually snarky, judgmental & disinterested in her. How on earth those two pushover losers will have a romance in the future is beyond my imagination
WDYM with your last bit pertaining the delusional cavetroll? Can you elaborate?
I’ll never feel sympathy for her, no matter how many times they play sad music during her scenes. It didn’t work during her flashbacks (I just assumed she’s so psycho that she’s rewritten or completely misunderstood what happened so she can feel like a victim), nor when she went into pity party, crying against the wall in her room after the non- wedding, that she tried to force on TK. There’s nothing sympathetic about her at all and the sad music just makes her look pathetic and unnecessarily dramatic.
You can partly blame the hat and their height difference. He had to bend because of their height difference, but…
The hat, the shoulder, etc blocked view by design. Our view was meant to be obscured because it wasn’t a real kiss. Even the couple of seconds we saw his mouth on her you could tell it wasn’t on her mouth but to the side. I would be fine if they just hugged, but I personally don’t like when there is a kiss in the script and they have to use these dumb tricks because one of the actors can’t fulfill what the scene requires. With kissing it’s usually idol actors or married actors & I just think if you can’t act out those scenes either don’t take the role or negotiate to have them taken out of the script. Replace it with a hug or anything but awkward fake kissing
I don’t understand why idols take on roles in dramas that have romance but then won’t do kisses other than a peck onscreen. I’m assuming that was the issue here with that terrible fake-out kiss scene Woo Do-Hwan can kiss and radiate chemistry with his on screen partners as we saw in Tempted. So the problem here must be with Bona. Not just the fake kiss scene with him hiding her with his shoulder, the weird angles and his mouth obviously to the side of hers, but any scene where we are supposed to see their chemistry, there’s more fizzle than sizzle. He seems to be working too hard to project chemistry and she seems to have the same level of intensity as she does in every scene, ie; none. Just flat. Even when she cries, though she tears up well and looks pretty crying, there’s no emotional depth. Her expression barely changes. I think she needs a lot more acting experience before she takes on another lead role, and if she can’t commit to a kiss scene, she shouldn’t agree to a role that has one in the script. Ep14 was more torture for KHS and though Woo Do Hwan is so good at these emotional and painful scenes, please please let him catch a break drama gods. If this ends next week with more loss and heartbreak I’m going to have major trauma. I hope the Princess lives and despite the lack of chemistry between the actors these two get a happy ending rather than a bittersweet or tragic one. Otherwise this whole drama would be just a lesson in suffering with some comedy thrown in at the beginning.
Sadly I have dropped this . I was liking it until they decided to have a third wheel to ruin the vibes. They insist…
I'm not sure if I'm dropping this yet, but I've just paused it with 10minutes to go in episode 15 because of the machinations of the third wheel. You're so right about the vibe being ruined and I've dropped so many dramas recently because I just can't bare the clingy, devious, entitled women they always bring in to try and claim the ML who never has any interest in them. I know it's a trope of the genre, but seriously, these delusional and possesive characters are a total turn off and ruin every drama they pop up in. I guess I'll have a look at the comments again when this ends to see if I'm going to bother picking it back up.
