Same. I’m much more intrigued by the family relationships. Especially the father daughter bond.
exactly. i’m excited to see how their bonds grows bc they have a lot of trauma that they haven’t talked abt with each other. just from the 2nd ep i can tell that despite his depression gwi-ju wants to be a better father so hopefully by the ending he’ll overcome his struggles and be there for i-na.
The tomboy is just a side-character, right? Is this series worth watching if I'm just in it for homoerotic subtext?
the original webtoon can be considered a GL, and you can definitely get that vibe from this show regardless of the lesbian couple being side characters. in fact there are multiple ships within the webtoon but they reduced it to one couple for the show. HOWEVER, the gl chemistry is still very much present in this show with the main cast and there aren't really any straight couples. i would definitely watch!
not the only one, I don't see how the romance in this drama will be that intriguing.
yeah like it's expected but after watching the second ep i was more engaged with the family members' storylines, especially i-na. poor girl is only 13 and already has daddy issues and thinks she shouldn't have been born 3
Thank you so much for the update. I honestly come back here all the time and wonder if I should just remove it…
as a yunqi (fan of winwin who plays situ weilian), i've been waiting for this drama since early 2022. it's excruciating to wait this long for any tv show but i hope the wait will pay off.
the shadow has joined super A partners for publicity and promotion for 2024. we can expect the shadow to air this year - the question is *when*. tencent won't reveal it. unfortunately i think it's too late in the season for it to air now. i'm assuming it will air in Q3 or Q4.
he is paired with huangyang tiantian. in the drama i believe his character tries to pursue one of her older sisters but ends up having to marry tiantian's character. they will likely be more like on-screen playmates than lovers due to tiantian's age
tencent posted "looking forward to seeing you see you soon" on the drama's weibo account and it was the second drama included in a poster of tencent dramas to air in 2024. i hope this time it means it'll air soon
It is a good conversation starter though - while we don't really know SP's age (though it's probably close to…
i don't have a very good feeling about the main couple either, really. i'm just interested to see how things play out. both relationships in the show are taboo to me and i try to stay clear of this kind of adoptive sibling trope - especially when it involves one of the characters taking part in raising another. as for san pang, it's clear from the very first episode he was a brotherly and parental figure in lili's life when she was still considerably young. to me it's almost like he takes the role of an uncle and he looks a little older than qian. not saying this is a grooming situation, but it's so weird and hypocritical of san pang to critique yuan and qian's relationship when he conveniently begins to take romantic interest in lili after she turns 18. and people will defend it saying 'their relationship proves that the nature of relationships can change' but in this context? it's still extremely weird. even though it's fictional, situations like these can occur in real life so can i really be blamed for being uncomfortable? if i was in qian's position, the revelation of their relationship would certainly not help me come to terms with my own attractions; i would feel like i'd failed as a guardian. the whole thing leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. this is just how i feel
